-
12. Priest
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
not an easy journey, kinda rough and full of experiment. the plot twists are number one opponent after the devil itself for this drama.

-

-
18. My Annoying Brother
Korean Movie - 2016
-
19. Be with You
Korean Movie - 2018
this movie's overall vibe, from the beginning to the end, reminds me of a fairytale. the story unfolds really slowly but it really gave me time to enjoy every little things each characters did, like somehow you peek into a family's life for a while.
"quietly beautiful", honestly. -
20. The Soul-Mate
Korean Movie - 2018
-
21. The Merciless
Korean Movie - 2017
-
22. Kingdom
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
frankly said - it's really, really good. rather than a drama, it feels more like a film with extended duration. i don't know why, but i got really amazed by the sight of That Many People in one scene! those scenes in this drama truly left me in awe.
i can say that it really does so well in many aspect, except the story that doesn't get explored that much. beside that, all good and all fine. i strongly recommend this since it only have 6 episodes and it's really entertaining (especially if you love horror, action, and thriller!) -
23. Less Than Evil
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
it's okay for me, but i found it hard for myself to continue this drama each week - like basically i pushed myself to watch it until the end.
the story is trying to be different from those in the same genre, but the way it was executed? totally meh. it engaged me at some time, but at the other time - not working at all. the story turned out to be the weakest point of this drama when honestly, when you talk about this genre? story should be the strongest point, in my opinion.
the reason why i still continue to watch is probably because i like the SNS team - the chemistry of the team is so fun to be seen, also lee seol is really amazing. she's the number one reason why i started watching this drama. the other reason is because this drama's editing for the scenes... especially those transitions between the scene are amazing. the visual of this drama is awesome.....
(lee seol and kim gun-woo -- i'll probably start keeping an eye for them!)

24. One Way Trip
Korean Movie - 2016
-
25. Star of the Universe
Korean Drama - 2017, 21 episodes
-
26. Busted
Korean TV Show - 2018, 10 episodes
imagine this roughly as a what if running man and crime scene met and merged into one show: you get a show that is basically a variety-drama-hybrid. you'll see 'scripted'-sides that is basically serving the story part and 'unscripted' that is serving the game/variety sides (but definitely don't expect this like a normal variety show like running man even i say it's have 'running man'-like aspect in it.)
the first half of is more like crime scene (stronger on solving the story) while the second half is more like running man (story is there, but more like for additions because the scale of the game is keep bigger and more various) - i personally love the first half despite the 'roughness', though. since it's closer to crime scene, one of my all-time favorite and it made me to do deductions along the casts/characters.
it's honestly really, really interesting but you definitely should try the first episode that is giving the clue of the two sides of this show later on. not only as clue to the nature of the show, but it also serves the introduction to 'the universe' of the characters they are living in and whether you like a concept like this.
p.s: imagining this as an ARG/alternate reality game really helps on changing the perspective of seeing this show.
-
27. Anarchist from Colony
Korean Movie - 2017
-
28. Extreme Job
Korean Movie - 2019
watch it when you can watch it because this film is one of the most fun film i ever see. extremely hilarious and cool at the same time.
"chicken never tastes this good"
p.s:
if you have watched Kingdom before watching this or/and knew about A Better Tomorrow movie, you're in for an even more hilarious watching experience LMAO.
-
29. Trap
Korean Drama - 2019, 7 episodes
as the first and the premiere of 'dramatic cinema' lineup, trap is surely one hell of a ride. it's the "keep your ears, your eyes wide opened" type of show because understanding the story and carefully noticing all the strange actions, the strange hints in the scenes will reward you so well.
there are some parts that feel kinda awkward, kinda weird, kinda forced, but most of it - it's really good, really tight, really mad and mind-blowing. and oh, when i say 'really mad', it's really mad. if you ever watch 'special affairs team ten', you can expect that level of intensity and insanity here, really. (since they were written by the same writer)
7 episodes - you can choose either to marathon it quickly or devour it slowly.
just. keep. your. eyes. and. your. ears. opened.
-
30. The Crowned Clown
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
i rarely watch sageuk... but, i should admit, this one is breathtakingly beautiful in terms of visual and the scorings of this drama are really good. Really Good.
this drama is an adaptation from the film Masquerade (2012), but after the halfway, it really departs away from the base story. the drama has its' own way and totally a different ending from the film. but i should admit that the second half of the drama is really, really intense to the point i wondered whether this drama probably included the genre 'thriller' somewhere. the tips of "just turn off your brain and enjoys the character" really works here.
i love it, anyway. it's fun, it's intense, it has its' own share of comedy, also some totally heartbreaking moments.
this drama is <3

37. 1987: When The Day Comes
Korean Movie - 2017
-
38. Haechi
Korean Drama - 2019, 48 episodes
i rarely watch saeguk and i also didn't expect that i will be invested in this drama from beginning to end for a whole 24 episodes!
it's really heavy on politics, but somehow, it's as interesting as thriller for me and the story of the underdogs rising? always loving that. it's just a pity that toward the end, the story kinda loses its' balance and sparks (which means that almost all of the characters shined equally... but it just sad that the final parts unable to retain this quality that i really liked on the beginning). but overall, it's still a fun and intense journey.
my favorite character from this drama is definitely park mun-su (the one and only, kwon yul - he truly surprised me that he can play such a cheerful, lively character yet serious at some times... and he truly nailed it!)
-
39. Svaha: The Sixth Finger
Korean Movie - 2019
what a pity. the acting department is really strong, the visual and the cinematography are so good but the story kinda goes downhill to the end.
it's really freaky and thrilling at the same time too.
-
40. Champion
Korean Movie - 2018
there's ma dong-seok, there's kwon yul, and there's han ye-ri..... and it's a family film.
it's light, it's such a feel-good film (although not really). love it? really love it! <3
(p.s: THOSE CHILDREN ARE SO CUTE)
-
41. The Admiral: Roaring Currents
Korean Movie - 2014
THIS MOVIE IS E P I C.
i, myself, may not a fan of war film but good lord this movie sent goosebumps like every seconds on the war scene. also, the strategy that was used in the movie was honestly, brilliant. as well as a war film, this is also a story about how human use the nature smartly to aid them.
no wonder why this movie is so loved - it's totally awesome and really, really epic.
-
42. Persona
Korean Drama - 2019, 4 episodes
definitely more on the artsy-side, beside the third movie (kiss burn).
my favorite story goes to the second, collector and my favorite in term of style goes to the final. never watch a full black-and-white movie, so this one is my first and every single of the movie is really beautiful <3 and the story, too.
it's a cool omnibus movie, but i think not everyone will enjoy it?
-
43. Possessed
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
as the final part of OCN's (unofficial) possession trilogy [the guest, priest, and lastly, possessed], this drama turns out to be the bleakest out of three when it started as the lightest out of the three.
the combination between supernatural, slight-horror, thriller, romance, and comedy definitely worked since it did really make the story rich. it even tried to balance out the lighter and the darker moment which for me, worked in the beginning but definitely feel jarring on the last. it was probably some of the little things that i can't really like.
the casting is unique and really amazing - totally loving the casting and the acting. what i love even more is at least, some actors that played the major character played more than one character! one character could be played more than one actor in this drama yet the vibe of each character is retained well, that's what i love the most about this drama.
i honestly won't really recommend this unless you enjoy a 'bleaker' show. also, i think i won't rewatch it again - it's an emotionally exhausting drama.
and spoiler ahead:
this drama's ending is the bleakest, darkest ending i have ever seen in an ocn's drama. whether it's the worst or not, it can be subjective. when you think ocn's drama is 'dark enough', this drama takes that 'dark enough' to an another new level. don't let the early episodes fool you.
when you think the guest's park il-do is crazy enough, hwang dae-doo can be more than that.

44. Drama Special Season 9: Forgotten Season
Korean Special - 2018, 1 episode
-
45. Drama Special Season 7: My Happy Home
Korean Special - 2016, 1 episode
-
46. Drama Special Season 5: The Three Female Runaways
Korean Special - 2014, 1 episode
-
47. Drama Special Season 6: Fake Family
Korean Special - 2015, 1 episode
it's the type of story that makes you think after it ends. a must watch, especially when you're questioning "what it means to be a family?" and "what is 'my life' in a family?". it's really good without being go overboard or too preach-y.
surprisingly loving this and lee ha-na really did a great job in this one <3
-
48. The Age of Shadows
Korean Movie - 2016
-
49. LOVE+SLING
Korean Movie - 2018
-
50. Whisper
Korean Drama - 2017, 17 episodes
legal thriller has never been my thing but the story about people continuously backstabbing each other in breakneck and continuously one-upping, outsmart each other is somehow addicting.... like the story that went in breakneck speed, i also marathon-ed it on a breakneck speed. it just really a pity that the last four episodes lose that speed and i could feel the need to continuously extending the story.
the true savior score in this drama is the acting department. i sometimes got loss in the story ("why they do that?", "what will affect this one when the other one do this?", "...wait what?" - there are sooo many times i asked myself like this), but what keep me truly engaged until the one is the actors. all the leading characters have their own colors and style, but i should say that lee bo-young's young-ju and kwon yul's jung-il are the one that keep me glued to the screen the most - it just fun to see their characters clashed with each other the most since they were the one wanted revenge the most. (another point for secretary song, keep your eyes on him - you can say he is kinda a scenestealer when he's given the time to shine!)
the story is nothing special - what makes it fun is actually how the story is delivered. just a head up, it's not an easy watch.
-
51. Special Labor Inspector Jo
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
for those who had watched angry mom (since this and angry mom were written by the same person), it will definitely feel familiar: a heavy (and rarely talked in depth) topic meets satire and comedy.
kim dong-wook's jo jin-gab is definitely a cape-less superhero and his sidekicks always find its' way to make it through. mostly comical and hilarious, but it's really fun to see them! also don't forget about that one special scene that show those who had "joined the party" - it's really fun to see. also: keep your eyes on ryu deok-hwan's woo do-ha which is probably going to quite confuse you at most of the time and surprise you unexpectedly. his character is the most complex in the drama that will definitely make you wonder if he is truly an ally or a villain.
such a fun and well-created drama. love it so much!
(p.s: i'm going to miss the winks in the drama)
-
52. The King’s Case Note
Korean Movie - 2017
-
53. The Hunt
Korean Movie - 2016
-
54. The Great Escape
Korean TV Show - 2018, 13 episodes
i watched this because this show got mentioned on dramabeans' what we're watching for some weeks consecutively and i got intrigued. the premise is simple: "escape the escape room" and when i saw the creator of this show - it's jung jong-yeon pd which is no other than the same creator of the genius! (and before i watched this, the genius is basically my #2 favorite variety all-time). the casts may not look... promising and you probably wonder whether will they be able to finish the mission within a day, but surprisingly.... it's addictive?
this is half variety half game show, but it's really, really a well-done show. you can really say that by just seeing this season alone. the resources! the budget! the ideas! i can't stop appreciating at how well-designed the escape rooms. not only that, the editing is also well-done. what i enjoyed as well was the casts, as the number of episodes grew, they also slowly evolving and did better than the previous episodes. you probably would be annoyed at first that they "wanted to solve as the first one to get the spotlight" but as the challenges got harder, the moment they started to work together as one - a m a z i n g.
(p.s: if you ever watch the genius before... this season is quite rewarding because they had a lot of jokes around it and even a surprise! HAHA)
-
55. The Great Escape: Season 2
Korean TV Show - 2019, 13 episodes
this episode slightly got lesser scores than the first season because there are two episodes that i feel like lingering between hit and misses a lot (which is, the 2nd challenge [buam-dong residences] and 3rd challenge [mugan prison]). those two challenges were really lingering on the hit/miss territory a lot for me - the second was imbalanced and the third one was too tricky (it was so video game-y!).
but what redeem this season for me is the fourth challenge [hope institute] - easily one of the best challenge between the two seasons. the scale was totally big, tricky but not too much like the third, the story was great, and made the additional rules for this season actually made more meaningful.
the teamwork on this season was even more improved than the first, flawless as its' finest. but really, you couldn't change overnight - some (you can guess who) still stayed to their roots lmao.
-
56. Save Me 2
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
this drama is really, really slow - the first half felt like a slice of life with the story of wolchuri's people taking the leads with a sprinkle of uneasiness and hint of something amiss with the cult. take note that the cult in this drama started from the zero not already established unlike in the first season.
the story really started to kick when the second half starts but what i love about this series, the story didn't become suddenly really quick, it just there were more development, more clash, and more surprises. this drama rewards you if you can be patient with the development and holding on. it's not an easy watch, too. if you enjoy first season, you can probably love it or not - it's not a definite guarantee. what i can guarantee that this is an even harder watch than the first season : slower, tougher, and harder than the first season.
all the four leads: uhm tae-goo, esom, kim young-min, and cheon ho-jin, along with all the actors who played as wolchuri's people are all awesome and breathtaking! it's such a drama with a powerful ensemble in it. (also special shout out for jo jae-yoon who joined two seasons of this series <3)
it's easily and officially one of my top favorites of this year. totally underrated, not for everybody, but it's such a strong drama that will left you with thoughts after it.
-
57. Voice 3: City of Accomplices
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
this season really proves the feeling i had since the first season - "addicting but failed to live to its' expectation". the first and the second season were okay for me (also i prefer the second, fyi). this season, sadly, had the best premiere out of the three seasons and i even love the style they went for the promotion material (those glitch? fully using on the cooler tones for the poster and the drama itself? loving it.) but the story really, really keep falling as it goes.
the cases of the day wasn't as exciting as the two previous seasons and the main story felt like still unexplored although the final episodes explained it - there were so many questions and holes on the story. [spoiler alert] i also don't really feel excited seeing kaneki masayuki as much as i enjoyed first season's mo tae-gu or second season's bang je-su. i liked to joke that the reason why i continue watching voice is because they have really interesting villains, but this season doesn't have the exact same magic like the previous seasons.
also: for those who mainly watched for kang kwon-joo will be really disappointed too - we all know that voice's main character is her but this season really pushed her to the supporting character territory. only at some episodes that it felt like she truly the main spotlight of the story.
[another spoiler alert] that ending? it's an ending that truly feels bitter. not because i like do kang-woo, but on the perspective of writing - his character really has no reason to be ended that way. it's a lazy writing.
with that epilogue, as much as i love kang kwon-joo and bang je-su, i wish voice 4 don't happen at all.
-
58. New Journey to The West: Season 4
Korean TV Show - 2017, 11 episodes
-
59. Kang's Kitchen 2
Korean TV Show - 2019, 6 episodes
i had never watched the first season of kang's kitchen so i come with no expectation or idea what kind of chaos i will see. also coming from people whom her first "restaurant-managing" variety was coffee friends, kang's kitchen 2 is chaos compared to the peaceful coffee friends lmao.
all i know was the casts from new journey to the west 5-6 were here and that was the reason i watched it. although it's more strict and fixed, it's still as fun as watching new journey to the west - but well, maybe there will be some moments you want to say hurry up a lot....
[spoiler alert] oh also: it's like new journey to the west 5 all over again. they changed everything overnight and said they started season 3 suddenly HAHAHA. but this change is really significant since the kitchen finally has another additional member - welcome back, kyuhyun! (i even watched the whole season 4 of new journey to the west to understand how important his comeback to the gang is it :"> - worth it!)
-
60. New Journey to The West: Season 3
Korean TV Show - 2017, 10 episodes
-
61. Kang's Kitchen
Korean TV Show - 2017, 6 episodes
-
62. New Journey To The West: Season 2.5
Korean TV Show - 2017, 7 episodes
this season is honestly.... pure-gold.
it's so short (and if you watch it - you'll understand why it is so short!), it's 100% hilarious, and it has moral message as well LMAO.
-
63. New Journey to the West: Season 2
Korean TV Show - 2016, 9 episodes
-
64. The Odd Family: Zombie On Sale
Korean Movie - 2019
found this movie through a recommendation passed on my timeline. it's a zombie film, but it's hilarious!
i'm enjoying it so much for how mad the way of thinking of this family as well as the adorable jjong-bi who loves cabbage so much <3 probably will watch it again since it's a light and funny film~
-
65. New Journey to The West: Season 1
Korean TV Show - 2015, 23 episodes
-
66. Kang's Kitchen 3
Korean TV Show - 2019, 4 episodes
-
67. Everything and Nothing
Korean Drama - 2019, 4 episodes
-
68. Just Dance
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
-
69. Avengers Social Club
Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
easily becoming one of my all-time favorites. it's the story about woman helps woman, what woman faces on their life, as well the story about the loves of mother to their children and what children can do to their parents.
it's hilarious, it's wholesome, it's sad sometimes, it's hard to watch since it's really close to our reality, but on the top of everything: it's fun and lovely.
the story is kinda rough on the second half, but it worth to stick until the end. all the hilarity that comes from the petty revenges (but don't underestimate the power of the bokja club!) as well as the heartfelt moments - make it worth the time. the scoring to support each scenes are awesome and my favorite goes for the actresses - lee yo-won, ra mi-ran (unnie! <3), and myung se-bin as well as jun (it's his debut drama and he did it so well!) whom all of them perfectly made this journey become so enjoyable and fun.
some parts may feel kinda easy and unbelievable, but when you put those aside - it'll be a more enjoyable journey.
lowkey wishing for a second season for these cape-less superheroes <3
-
70. The Divine Fury
Korean Movie - 2019
i was lucky to be able to watch this on the cinema directly for a full experience <3
story-wise, it wasn't a complicated story at all and honestly, the character development also didn't happen to all the main characters. but, what made this movie still entertaining for me was the visual (it's a quite visually-stunning film!) and the action (i saw the cinema listed this movie in horror genre, but after watching it, i felt like this should be a thriller-action instead... there was definitely some horror in it, but it was kept to the minimum)
the visual was quite stunning for me and the action was surprisingly good?
[spoiler alert] watched this since i was curious to see woo do-hwan (on movie! as a villain!) and boy didn't disappoint at all<3 (i feel like i need more do-hwan in villain character from now on ;;;) and if you watched this for park seo-joon, you're definitely in for a treat.
it's not a heavy watch and really entertaining!
-
71. The Dude In Me
Korean Movie - 2019
it's a family drama with body-swap element in it.
it's light, but too predictable for me. some part was meant to be either tearjerker or hilarious for me, but nothing really worked. i also kinda lowkey wanted to see more park sung-woong, but he didn't really appear that much here. ra mi-ran is great like usual in here <3 and if you're coming to see jin-young, it's definitely a treat!
-
72. WATCHER
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
when this drama was announced as part of the 2019's lineup, it was the drama that excited me the least. even the announcement of the PD and the writer didn't excite me too, since the story about internal organization's corruption really did not pull me in at all.
the premiere turned out Amazing. my first reaction after the premiere was "although it's an ocn's drama, it feels like one and not at the same time". the style, the cinematography, the story, the scorings (easily one of the best as well), the soundtrack, and lastly the acting department - it blew up my mind.
the story was really confusing and complicated. between the first week to the midway, the story kinda lost for me. [minor spoiler] but watcher started get my full attention again when young-goon's father got released from the jail - it's the point of the story that truly elevated the main story into even more complicated. every episodes were guessing game until the final week - it's impossible to not suspect every. single. character. (beside young-goon) between the midway (7,8) until the pre-final week (13,14).
the characters are the strongest forte of this drama. han seok-kyu's do chi-gwang is a true enigma - reading his action may cause you a headache yet he will continuously make you wonder for the reason of his action. kim hyun-joo's han tae-joo is a favorite of mine, a lady that tried her best to face her pasts and although she choice questionable actions sometimes, but her bravery is unbeatable. and lastly, seo kang-joon's kim young-goon that is like a little fire that continuously running ablaze - his character is the one that gradually matured as the story goes and i really surprised that seo kang-joon can execute this character so well.
this drama easily becomes my top favorite from ocn this year too - fingers are crossed for second season.

73. Hotel del Luna
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
-
74. Class of Lies
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
-
75. Village Survival, the Eight
Korean TV Show - 2018, 6 episodes
for someone who haven't been watching varieties from non-cable channel... for quite a long time... Village Survival a.k.a Michuri is surprisingly a great choice. since it aired on sbs, i couldn't help but seeing a lot of similarity between family outing and running man. it has the perfect "back to countryside" vibe as well as having a lot of similar activities like back in family outing while also having a target that keep the casts competitive with each other like running man (which surprisingly, not to the point of 'neck-to-neck' like running man... which... i, sadly, am not enjoying anymore - tastes can change over the time, sadly.)
the treasure hunting part might look like to be the main point, but i felt that even the production team unable even take care of this part well which enough to make it like a side thing instead. it's the greatest weakness of this show. and for the international watchers (esp. for those who never learnt korean), this show is kinda difficult since all the deciphered hints are given in words or letter. to make sense why the hints point a certain object may kinda difficult.
but, on the other hand, this show really able to keep me entertained for the whole 80 minutes+ duration. so many laughs and joke were thrown. the games might seem to be repetitive, but the casts always found a way to make each game had its' own color.
also, i honestly love the no-guest throughout this whole season. it helped the casts to bond a lot (although they should stay competitive with each other while they stayed) and it maintained all the talks stay all about them (which mostly became the source of the jokes throughout the season). i love all the casts and as well loving that our beloved yoo jae-suk was there as well! <3

80. Vreemdelingen uit hel
Korean Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
coming from the webtoon that i love its' theme and story so much - the drama adaptation truly nails it so well as well as creating the atmosphere so well. those who has read the webtoon and enjoying the details - will really have a blast enjoying this drama.
it's more of a psychological thriller/horror but the execution is more straightforward than the webtoon. also, tbh, for a drama, it's quite heavy and bleak - you can be left exhausted after watching an episode. but, i honestly love watching this at night, in dark room - with a headset for full immersion. it is amazing lmao.
(spoilers) the ending is a different story by itself - it's one of the best ending i have seen this year. the energy, the intensity, the madness, the way the story was told - all amazing. no doubt why the rating is raised into 19 - it's a slasher... and yet, they still tell the story well as well as explaining the ending that remained ambiguous if you only read the webtoon.
i am happy that siwan choose this project as his comeback project because he truly executed it so well! and good lord, all the surprise goes for lee dong-wook.... those who has watched this drama, probably will never see him in the same light anymore. also don't forget the others - lee jung-eun, lee hyun-wook, park jong-wan, and lee joong-ok... the sync to the original characters are 100%.
this drama, shortly said, is a m a z i n g.

81. My Country: The New Age
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
this drama is my wildest dream come true. i wished hard for this specific thing on 2017: "i want to see yang se-jong AND woo do-hwan in same project... whatever is it!".
a little backstory, those who watched ocn diligently back in 2017 definitely know duel (for yang se-jong) and save me (for woo do-hwan) aired back-to-back and those two projects were the exact project that launched them to the stardom like now... and media always mentioned two of them as the best rookies of 2017. this exact point of history will be always remembered in my head.
FF to the end of 2018 - the casting news started to appear. first: se-jong, then: do-hwan. december 13th 2018, i really didn't forget it.
then FF again to october 2019 - this drama is basically my wildest dream come true and it's So Good. i wanted angst - this drama gave me pain. i wanted something thrilling - this drama gave me rollerocaster. i wanted something beautiful - this drama gave me majestic views. like.. let's admit, hwi and sun-ho are basically the bromance of this year. their story was so painful yet it hit home so well. the love story in this drama is basically the story between hwi and sun-ho, man. the chemistry between these two? it sparked joy and delight for me. FF to the end of november 2019 - the ending of this drama was absolutely beyond explainable by words.
from just wanting my favorite rookies together to seeing them actually being friends with so much love for each other yet being the best partner for each other.... i am absolutely happy.
