  • Coffee Prince

    1. Coffee Prince

    Korean Drama - 2007, 17 episodes

This was the first kdrama I ever watched and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I watched it on Viki in 2015 when it was still free.

  • Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro

    2. Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro

    Japanese Drama - 2011, 12 episodes

    10

I love how this show is a clever parody of Dragon Quest and yet it still managed to throw in a parody of dramas in the finale.

  • Yuusha Yoshihiko to Akuryo no Kagi

    3. Yuusha Yoshihiko to Akuryo no Kagi

    Japanese Drama - 2012, 11 episodes

    10

The first season was a parody of Dragon Quest and the second season is more just a parody of itself. A bit weaker than the first season, but I still found it enjoyable for the jokes and character interactions.

  • Yuusha Yoshihiko to Michibikareshi Shichinin

    4. Yuusha Yoshihiko to Michibikareshi Shichinin

    Japanese Drama - 2016, 12 episodes

If season 1 was a parody of Dragon Quest and season 2 was a parody of itself, this season is a parody of everything. Nothing is sacred - Dragon Quest, RPGs, anime, musicals, dramas, its own budget and storyline - everything under the sun is getting referenced and chewed apart by meta. I enjoyed this season more than season 2, but season 1 will always be the best in my heart.

  • Neko Zamurai

    5. Neko Zamurai

    Japanese Drama - 2013, 12 episodes

    10

I watched the movie first, so I was slightly disappointed when the show didn't turn out to be Kyutaro going on adventures with his adoptive children. But I did very much like seeing more context for certain scenes that were in the movie (which I later found out came second, so that makes sense) and I loved the characters who were unique to the show. Wakana was such a cutiepie~

  • Neko Zamurai 2

    6. Neko Zamurai 2

    Japanese Drama - 2015, 11 episodes

    10

I was sad that Wakana didn't return for this season, but it was still good and very fun to watch. Neko-chan is family~ <3

  • Let's Eat

    7. Let's Eat

    Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes

    10

This was the second drama I can recall watching and I'm very glad it was. I wasn't a huge fan of that one recurring "joke" about that one lady in the office "not being attractive" because I felt so bad for the actress and I think she's very pretty. But other than all that, I loved the characters and my OT3 will forever remain in my heart.

  • Let's Eat 2

    8. Let's Eat 2

    Korean Drama - 2015, 18 episodes

    10

I was disappointed that the main couple was broken up just so a new romance could be chased in this season, but I still enjoyed the wholesome feel-good vibes that I loved so much from the first season. Nitpicks about the plot twists and recurring jokes aside, I enjoyed watching and seeing the story come together even if it didn't turn out quite the way I was hoping it would.

  • Algernon Ni Hanataba O

    9. Algernon Ni Hanataba O

    Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes

    10

This show made me cry so hard. The main actor was so good and I loved the transitions between his normal self and the version of himself when he's affected by the experimental intelligence drug. ;;w;; His character and Algernon deserve everything good in the world.

  • Kobold

    10. Kobold

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    10

Not gonna lie, this one emotionally broke me. It ripped my heart out over and over and I would gladly let it tear my heart to pieces again.

  • Witch Store Reopening

    11. Witch Store Reopening

    Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes

    10

Some neat magic here and there, but the clever meta humor is what sold me and the antique aesthetic of the shop stole my heart from the first glimpse.

  • Kiss Ghost

    12. Kiss Ghost

    Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    10

A beautiful exploration of human emotions and a fantastically wholesome romance! It gets bonus points for the way it addresses the wrist grab trope. I have such low standards and Ban Sook meets all of them.

  • Kieta Hatsukoi

    13. Kieta Hatsukoi

    Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes

    10

I am so happy that something this wholesome and thoughtful exists in the world. The ways in which this series makes me feel seen and understood are very personal, and it does everything right.

  • Hei Yue Guang Wen Na BE Ju Ben

    14. Hei Yue Guang Wen Na BE Ju Ben

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes

Actual enemies to lovers that is so specific to my tastes I can hardly believe it.
