Overrated for sure
I didn’t know earlier that true beauty’s writer wrote this drama as well. I understand now why there were soo many similarities and even the order of certain events was same. The love triangle plot and the bad boy 2nd lead, Male lead being her saviour and all.I want to mention some comedy scenes that were cheap and not funny e.g when ML doesn’t hold the bathroom door for a guy and he is exposed among all and FL’s friend pooped in her pants etc . I don’t understand why they degrade the supporting characters like that. These scenes were not funny they were just disgusting.
Female lead was super annoying, she was confused as hell. Made dumb choices and at times i didn’t feel like rooting for her at all. I wanted to tell the ML to just run away from her as she creates unnecessary trouble. She acts from the beginning as she is his girlfriend and not a fan bcz what fans act this way !!!
ML was attractive up to the point he had ambition other than being in love with the FL but it felt like his life revolved around her only. It made him uninteresting.
Episodes towards the end were boring, I lost interest after episode 9. Time travel become boring after she traveled back again and again. Not to mention watching ML die soo many times. And the show didn’t pick up from that point and goes further down.
Music was amazing. The couples cute moments made me keep watching the show but at some point they also become cringe.
Nothing surprised me about the story and it was predictable. So I would say Lovely runner is just overrated.

CLOY is my kdrama home. I keep coming back to
Just like seri accidentally landed in north Korea I accidentally landed in kdrama world with crash landing on you.I didn’t know this show will give me soo much comfort and butterflies at the same time. I absolutely loved the star crossed lovers plot between two enemy nations. The dialogues were soo good and meaningful, I can’t still get over “ if you pray hard enough you will get to see the ones you miss”and “ wrong train gets you to right station”. Good dialogues are soo rare these days . But cloy gave some beautiful dialogues that i will remember. There is soo much warmth in the drama, i felt like i was part of the show. That’s the beauty of a show l, it should make you feel like you are part of the story.
We get to properly see their feelings develop for each other with time and not all at once soo it makes perfect sense why they just couldn’t be without each other. Also the story keeps you guessing what will happen next, the suspense keeps you going.
The chemistry between the main leads is just flawless. I feel in love with caption Ri and Seri. I was happy that they made it work in the end. It took years but they made it together.

Could’ve been soo much more!!
Once i drop a kdrama, i never go back to it. I watched 2 episodes of alchemy of souls last year and then dropped it. The story looked like a typical superhero movie where the main character possesses special abilities. Not that there is anything wrong with it but I have watched this plot a hundred times in western movies/tv shows, and it bores me now.I was still curious as to why this drama is soo popular. So i gave it another try and this time i felt connection with the female lead. I was interested in her journey as an assassin who lost her powers. I figured that she will fall in love with the guy with special abilities but i still wanted to know how she will navigate her journey in a new body. But all i got was her being a tool to help the male lead in his endeavours and that was it. We didn’t got to see the exceptional shadow assassin in action. No display of her powers and abilities till the end. Her story could’ve been soo much more than just being a love interest of the male lead. If this show was just a romcom with little backdrop of magic then I would’ve been okay with it but we are introduced to a new world of mages and magic, all just for a romance story!!
The male lead was way too lucky every time and I wasn’t very fond of him as his character lacked the effort and hard work required or worthy of all the power he came to possess. Meanwhile FL was pushed back in the corner to cheer for him.
The curse of 2nd lead strike again. Seo yul known to be the 1st among his fellow mages to achieve high level magic skills yet he was caught up in one sided feelings and did nothing the entire season. He was adorable but his character plays little to no part in the story. Did him knowing the real identity of mudok changed anything at all ? No
Even in the last episode when mudok run wild,I thought he will do something now but no, nothing at all!! Crown prince emerged as a character better than my expectations. I liked his presence in the show yet he also didn’t had much to add in the main story. There are some characters that were the soul of the drama like Master Lee, Park Jin and maid servant Kim. Jin family’s relics were soo fascinating, they can make an entire show on the Jin family’s relics. Lady Jin was a such an badass lady, really liked her.
Overall I will praise the writers for introducing us to a new world of mages. It was very creative yet characters had much more potential than what we got from them.

Such an underrated show. Definitely deserves more hype
I’ve just finished the drama and it’s hilarious. Why is this drama soo underrated!!!I’ve watched all kdramas of Rowoon and the matchmakers is my favourite drama of him after Tomorrow. Rowoon rocked his character as Shim jung woo. He is an amusing and hysterically funny character. The more we get to know him the more appealing he becomes. His character development from being a man of principle to being agent of love added more to his charms hehe. Female lead was cute. She was bubbly yet mature at the same time.
The whole matchmaking plot was hilarious, from teaching the sisters the art of eye contact to the chaotic wedding day, i laughed like crazy. Among all the chaos, the sweet moments between the couples were heartwarming. Jung woo and princess encounter story was soo adorable, kinda made me sad for them. Everything adds up episode by episode. The shows gets political and serious in some episodes but that’s alright since I laughed a lot too. Some moments made me emotional too. That’s the beauty of a good drama.
The review won’t be complete without mentioning what bothered me. Yes! the odd pairing of crown prince and lady ha na!! This pairing made no sense till the end. But as they were one of many couples and not the main lead couple soo I can overlook it. Because I enjoyed the show. It was full pack entertaining .
