So in early 2000s japanese cinematography was a bit mediocre. Considering this movie came in 2006, I can understand why the movie direction seemed amateurish.
Talking about the story, it was straightforward. Nothing too much twist and turns which is good. I don't think I could've appreciated any complex lgbtq+ movie with this level of direction and acting. The acting is a bit beginner type. It felt like the main actresses weren't completely into the character.

Overall, it was an average movie with average storyline.
