Beautiful Drama and an amazing story
I rated Itaewon Class a 10 out of 10 because I really think that this drama is worth the rating. Having watched many asian dramas, there are only two that I have felt deserved a 10 out 10 waiting and this was one of them. The story is heart wenching and had me crying so much at the beginning because I felt so much for the issues that our main protagonist had to go through at a young age and I was so touched at how he was able to rise up to every occasion that life threw at him. I love the diversity of thought and characters introduced here. How some characters were more accepting than others, and how the others had to grow and learn to accept and be open minded to people who saw the world and interacted with the world differently than them.
One of the things that really stood out to me with this drama was how many of the main characters came from single parent homes or they did not have parents at all. The one mother-daughter relationship that was portrayed in the drama, I thought was beautiful done and well portrayed. One of my favorite quotes in the drama came from a conversation that happened between Jo Yi Seo and her mother. The quote is the "That's not how I was raised." In the context of the show it makes perfect sense. Every single one of the parental-child relationships we saw shaped the lives of that child and how they were to ultimately live their lives.
Park Sae Ro Yi's dad raised him to be principled and good. In turn, Jang Dae Hee raised his children to with no principles. The defining moments of this show for me were in the little moments when you saw the human interactions, most especially the father to son interactions.

It was so good, totally worth watching, but it is not what I was expecting.
When we're young, everything we experience feel so big and consuming. Growing up teaches us perspective and how life never quite works out how we want and a single moment in our life will not destroy us forever. This is more or a slice of life type of story. It is not a romance. It's a beautiful, heart wenching, and brilliantly told story of an amazing and entertaining group of people. I would definitely recommend watching this to anyone who enjoys a good coming of age story. This is one of the best of them.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Beautiful Drama
I really love this drama, the story behind it and how it is told. This is my second time rewatching this. I watched it two years ago and rewatched again since it got added to Netflix. I genuinely liked it even more on the second watch and having now watched quite a few K-Dramas since this, I see it for the gem that it is. The romance, the story, the plot are all good. This is a heartfelt drama and I love it!!Now this part is a rant about these reviews
I watched the drama and I loved it and it's the first drama that I've watched that I wanted to actually post a review for. So I come on here write my review and I go to post it. Only to have the site tell me that my review has to be 500 words long to post. 500 words? Are you freaking kidding me?!? That's a huge requirement for a review on a television show. I seriously wonder how many people chose not to review things because they literally have to write half an essay in order for it to get submitted. I'm not joking, I've had school assignments that required fewer works that this site's reviews. This is ridiculous.
