Xiao Yi Qing is clearly the green flag & star of this drama.

I went in expecting to like Xiao Yi Qing, as I read through a lot of comments & also the plot about the drama & I surprisingly liked him a lot more than I thought I would. Apart from 1-2 instances, he always treated his Ah Jing well, looked after her, supported her, and most of all believed in her. Since the first time they met each other, it was easy to the understanding between the two. A lot of time he reminded me of the lead from the princess agents, but Xiao Yi Qing is a much better person.

I liked Ah Jing half of the time, but I mostly liked her because of Yi Qing cared for her & I wanted him to have everything he wanted in this world. Had she not doubted him so many times, she would have actually been perfect for him. No matter how many times she questioned his intentions, he always let it go. But she did care for him in her own way, tried everything to save his life and he was a very ungrateful when she risked her life for the medicine, only for him to waste it. Yeah, he apologized but that was something so out of character. He was the one who first spoke the harsh words and failed to resolve the issue. Anyways, you can't always be perfect.

Xiao Tai was a teenager who wanted things that she didn't earn. She was coddled by everyone & they kept making excuses for her. They failed to make her understand that she was responsible for the consequences. She did not even repent for any of the mistakes and countless deaths that resulted due to her obsession with the Tower Master. Even at the end, all she got was a slap on the wrist. She used Qing Yu & He let her be used. Like his brother said, he was always ambitious but he was also so delusional. He forgot that Qing Ming was his sister, who fought alongside him. It was sad to see that only Ming was the one to survive amongst the three siblings, because that's how I saw them as siblings.

Where Qing Yu's destruction was led by Xiao Tai, Qing Lan's was led by Ming He. I was surprised that Qing Lan had any feelings for Ming He. I thought the disgust he would feel would be far greater than any feelings that arose out of familiarity. But I seem to have misjudged him as a person. He obviously cared about everyone & it included Ming He as well. I had wished that he would survive, he could have been a good Tower Master, better even than Yi Qing.

They shouldn't have killed Nan Chu though. What was even the point. He was one of the characters that should have and could have made it. Same could be said about a lot of couples that were introduced, only for them to die. Also, the tower master & Ah Jing were heartless when dealing with Lei family. They knew what would happen and took no measures to ensure that young & old people would make it out alive. I have seen better leaders than them, had it been Qing Lan in their place he would have made sure that they made it. But with what we have seen of Qing Lan, I don't think he had enough intelligence for that kind of masterplan.

Lovely couple. Sweet Story.

This is actually one of the decent mini drams out there. What I like about this is that it doesn't follow the trend of abusive relationships where the leads treat each other like shit and then call it love. This was such a sweet story, of course the script wasn't anything new but I enjoy watching time-loop romances. It is especially well done since both the leads were such cuties, the best part was that they trusted each other. The first few instances were funny, especially with him kicking her off the roof when she might have aborted her escape plan. This is definitely a fun drama to rewatch when you want to wash of the intensity of dramas that leave you heartbroken.

The leads have explosive chemistry

The chemistry between the leads is the saving grace for this movie. Had it been any other actors, i would have dropped it or might not even have considered watching it.

Were they an ordinary couple? Not really. This is an exaggeration of what ordinary couples are. Sure people fight & have on again off again relationship but these two didn't seem to care about each other. The only time they seem to care was when then weren't together. They were at least not ordinary to me. Both were so violent, making it worse for each other. Maybe this is ordinary to someone out there.

I was hoping they would each find someone to calm them down. But they end up repeating the cycle.

Brilliant Cast! Intriguing Characters! Worth the watch!

The best part about this drama are the leads, their witty & intelligent banter made me like them. In the beginning, I liked the ML more than the FL, because he was actually pretty kind and decent person. In comparison, the Fl was kind of foxy with her schemes. I also liked how ML was open in showing his affection and was very much in love with her. So, I was rooting for them & hoping that we would find out more about the FL as the show progresses so that I can like her. And she grew on me, at the same time I continued to like ML for who he was.

That changed midway, I started liking FL more because she was very consistent with her feelings and made better decisions than ML most of the time, not always, but majority of it. The ML wasn't bad either but his thinking was hampered by his need to choose a life away from the scheming. Their intelligence and strategies weren't to be questioned, but I questioned ML's feelings for her in the latter episodes. The ML feelings constantly wavered, in the beginning, he was quick to blame her and even nicked her neck drawing blood in a fight, this was when he claimed to love her. To be honest, he was the one who used her more to achieve his goals, and she didn't complain. Once his goals were achieved, he just refused to listen to her even knowing that what she said was valid. Even when he had concerns he refused to talk it out with her. The second disappointment was when she was sick and he found out too late. Even then, he didn't make much efforts for her. He always needed to be prodded by his soldiers to make a move on her & even then sometimes didn't. I don't much like MLs like that. The change in his character was so obvious. What was sad about their breakup in episode 29 was that even with how silent it was, it was violent, he treated her as if she had something to gain from asking him to be the crown prince, other than maybe a chance for him to survive longer. She is a warrior who was never really interested in the court & cared more about her soldiers. If it wasn't for him, her father and she would have probably come up with some other strategy to save their army from the likes of that cowardly & honestly silly emperor. Even with all the claims of loving her, his actions fell short.

Thank god for the final 10 episodes, ML was back to his earlier self where he seemed to care a lot about the FL. And I'm glad that it was that version of him that ended up with her. One thing you got to give the guy credit for, even though they fought a lot of time, he never once considered loving anyone else. Even when the emperor gave him a concubine, he was upfront and told her that he would never love her but all he could give her was the title of lady of excellency, Apart from that she couldn't have anything from him.

In contrast to the ups and downs between the leads, the relationship between the Tao Zi & Chang Er was very adorable and they were very consistent about each other throughout the drama. Chang Er was a warrior in his own right and still made sure to treat Tao Zi well. They understood each other.

Here hoping that it won't traumatize me as much as Ancient Love Poetry did.

I have been wanting to watch this drama for a while because I'm always curious about the next one in the series, be it books or dramas. Ancient Love Poetry started out nice but it was traumatizing by the end, so I didn't immediately watch this one. I know that this one is another trauma in the making since the ML didn't exactly have stellar parents.

Ep 1: Wasn't expecting to like the ML since I have only seen one scene where he destroys the FL (on YouTube), so was surprised to see him be a likable character. The graphics are not that good, I have seen better in Starry Love & Immortal Samsara. The Phoenix Queen Feng Yin seemed so damn fragile that her immortal essence was destroyed due to a little trespassing. Hua Shu's character behaved as I expected her to, so no surprises there.

Ep 2: Ah Yin is so adorable in all her forms. The little water beast reminds me of the little white snake from the "The destiny of White Snake" I wonder what happened to the second water beast that went unnoticed. The entire episode was Ah Yin doing her best to kill Gu Jin in all her adorable ways. In her defense, he was planning on eating her just like a certain grape fairy was planning to eat a phoenix thinking it was a crow that could get her powers.

Ep 3 to Ep 5: Gu Jin is so damn naive. Him handing over such a powerful artifact to the peacock is an example of how he shouldn't have been given the responsibility. Ah Yin who's barely a few years old can identify crafty people, but Gu Jin is just not bright. I would have liked the peacock if she was a worthy villain, but she was nice to Ah Yin only until she found out that there was a Master-Servant pact between Gu Jin & Ah Yin. Once she discovered that, she thought of Ah Yin as nothing more than a servant and decided to treat her lower than dirt. Yeah, so not a move a powerful woman makes.

Ep 6 to Ep 10: Gu Jin is really a dummy. He just gets swayed so easily. His elder brothers told him that he should go propose to the peacock and he goes there with that intention as well. If only he hadn't overheard or seen her with the other guy, he would still have went through with it, only to realize much later that he is being used. Anyways, now that he knows that he was used he said goodbye to the peacock and has started wondering why he keeps thinking about Ah Yin so randomly. I like Ah Jiu, he is a bit smarter than the ML and more perceptive of FL's feelings to which the ML is really blind. While I ship him with Ah Yin, I also think he and Yan Shuang make a great couple.

Ep 11 to Ep 15: The aunt Hong Chou with her sense of superiority is getting on my nerves. I'm watching this on YouTube and someone in the comments said that all the people interfering are the reason the calamity exists, left on their own Gu Jin & Ah Yin would have done well together. The one trope that I absolutely hate is the amnesia trope, the only time amnesia worked in favor of the leads was Forget You Remember Love (2020), and even with that the guy was an ass once he got his memory back. I get that it wasn't a complete memory wipe but it just wiped away Gu Jin's emotional ties to Ah Yin, which is plain to see as he acts much more detached from the way he was with Ah Yin before he realized how he felt about her. It is sad to watch as Ah Yin has been the one who has struggled the most with their feelings in the relationship. She was the one who fell first & had to keep it under the wraps because he was into someone else. Once he realized his feelings for her, they didn't even get to spend much time together before his affections was cut off by outside forces, again leaving Ah Yin into one-sided love. And the worst is yet to come.

Ep 16 to Ep 20: Hong Chou needs to stop making decisions for Gu Jin. She has always treated Ah Yin lower than dirt so there isn't much to like about her character. I loved how the peacock was scared of the underworld king & tried to frame Ah Yin. What a calculative woman. Lan Feng has weird taste in women, he knows what the peacock is and still loves her. At least the peacock has some feelings for Lan Feng, thanks god for that otherwise the poor guy would have been stuck in the one-sided mess. Gu Jin has really lost his marbles deciding to cut of Ah Yin in such a brutal way, no points to you. He could have lessened the blow but then who cares about Ah Yin's feelings, let's make one-sided decision for her. Well Ah Yin's life is about to end, so I wonder what could be the cause. Gu Jin possibly blaming her for being a calamity. (Makes me want to punch him)

Ep 21 to Ep 25: Gu Jin is fool. He isn't half as good, a just, or talented as Lan Feng was. Even though Lan Feng loved the peacock he still made sane decisions. Gu Jin just let things get to him and destroyed Ah Yin in the process. He overlooked her since he regretted his choice to refine the pill for her, otherwise he would have been able to save Daze mountain. He forgot that Ah yin was also going through the same. Although he brought about the death of his own woman, at least he is a little bit better than his father Bai Jue.

Ep 26 to Ep 40: By the end of the drama, I finally understood why Gu Jin did things the way he did, but I do not agree with them. He made decisions to change the course of their relationship, claiming that he did it for not just the sect but also for her. It doesn't change the fact that it led to a lot of miscommunication causing Ah Yin to be treated poorly. But again, he was much better at the relationship then his father ever was. I actually Gu Jin once I discovered the complexities of his plan. The Da Ze Mountain sect was filled with lovely people who accepted everyone and didn't judge. They also looked after Gu Jin so much and took care of him without harming him or inflicting any kind of abuse or neglect (same cannot be said for his parents). So making a choice between Ah Yin and them was not possible. What's more Ah Yin was also part of the sect. Regardless of the peacock's sacrifice in the end, it was just not possible to like her. She did one right thing that could have may be been avoided had she had some moral compass to begin with.

There were two reasons I avoided watching this drama, one was my dislike my Bai Jue and the way he treated Hou Chi. The second was, I read a comment implying that it had an open ending. Nope, the ending was good. Of course, I wouldn't have minded more happy scenes after he came back to life but who cares, they are both alive.

Had potential

The name Gen Z is just not well-suited for the drama. I disagreed with a lot of ways the things were handled by the grown ups in the drama. The whole concept of the drama was not for me. But I can say that the master-disciple relationship between the Xing Zheng and Sun Tou Tou had a lot of potential.

I'm not a fan of Tian Zhen and couldn't actually see him in favorable light once he left Sun Tou Tou drunk alone, where she almost drowned. He was too damn irresponsible at all times. Never stepping up when he made any mistakes, always allowing others to take the blame for him. Let's not forget that in order to alleviate his guilt about Meng Meng, he tried to keep her with him so that he could treat even knowing that it was beyond his expertise. I could only like him for the last part of the story because I chose to turn a blind eye to all of these things & because that's what Sun Tou Tou wanted.

I couldn't believe the way things ended for Meng Meng, what she needed was a therapist not Tian Zhen who wasn't capable of taking care of her. Her parents were even worse, trying to lock her up as if she was some monster. They all failed the poor child.

I didn't much care for how Ling Lan treated Sun Tou Tou, telling her to leave even without giving her the chance to prove that she wasn't guilty. Sun Tou Tou was a such a bright light throughout the drama, she was childish at times knowing that she would be kicked out even if she behaved, not really believing the whole thing about her being the descendant.

Zhao Lusi was the one who made the drama worth watching, her performance as an orphan who knew that she could be kicked out if she stepped one foot out of the line was marvelous. She is a joy to watch & it broke my heart every time she was blamed for things that weren't her fault. She got so used to it that she didn't hesitate in taking the blame & being selfless when she thought it would be better for her master's family.

Lost count of the number of times I have rewatched this ( 4-5 would be my guess so far)

It's not perfect, there are certain things about the plot that have you raising eyes but the leads make up for whatever is wrong with the story. They have a such a blazing chemistry! This is the show that made me like Ji Chang Wook even before I knew his name. His pairing with Nam Ji Hyun is best to date. I'm sad that they haven't worked together again in any other dramas. Especially, Nam Ji Hyun, I really would like to her in more romcoms, but she prefers more serious roles. The entire cast is also great.

What I like about both the characters is that they have enough spine to leave to their cheating exes. They didn't beg for them to take them back but made it clear that they wouldn't want them back under any condition. Jang Hee Joo, Bong Hee's ex was such a pain in the ass, not only did he show no remorse for cheating, he went out of his way to make it so that she was the one who cheated. The women in the hotel, Na Hi Jae, wasn't any better either, she contributed to this plan knowing that they both messed up but still behaved all high and mighty. These are the kind of people that scare me, the ones who don't understand the difference between right & wrong. What makes it even more scary is that they get away with it. Even by the end of the drama, Na Hi Jae didn't face any repercussion for damaging Bong Hee's reputation, and irony is she is the one who becomes a prosecutor, who's supposed to uphold justice, whereas Bong Hee who was framed continues to struggle.

One thing that bothers me the most about the ML is he thinks that not submitting the second knife would have let him be continue to fulfill his father's dream of him being a prosecutor, but he doesn't even consider what his father would have thought of him being a dishonest one by hiding the other knife. Instead, he blames it on the FL. And everyone around agrees that he gave up his career not for the truth but because of the FL. I don't think this thinking was ever addressed.

While they end up arresting one Stalker, they glorify the FL's stalking of the ML. Between the two of them, the ML didn't really notice that she was stalking him, but once he found out, I don't think he minded it that much.

The best part about Bong Hee & Ji Wook's relationship is that there was always a nascent attractions between them, neither of them aware when they started to have feelings for each other. One day, they just knew that they did. Ji Wook did his best to deny those feelings but ultimately decided to stop resisting. Bong Hee surely had a tough time of it, since she was the one who recognized those feelings first and had to deal with it being one-sided for long, then came the rejection. It is beautiful to watch them be together, even when they fight about silly things.

Here for Ji Chang Wook

I have been putting watching it off for a while mostly because I wasn't that attracted to the lead pairing. And I also read a comment once that the the ML had a better chemistry with the FL's stepmother, which just solidified my opinion on the pairing so I avoided it. I just finished watching "Healer", which was another drama of Ji Chang Wook that I have been putting off. It was kinda meh for me. I liked Park Min Young's character better than Ji Chang Wook's in that one. Anyways so I'm here finally.

Ep 1 to Ep 4: I skipped most of the parts that didn't have K2, Anna, & the team chief. I'm not a fan of J4, she was sitting there in the kitchen bemoaning about the fact that she won't be getting any promotion or would not get the chance to meet a guy and talking shit about Anna, while not even realizing or caring that Anna wouldn't get to experience any of those because of her captivity. The shower scene was so funny. They wouldn't even let him get the soap out of his eyes.
My personal favorite is "Dora the explorer scene", where K2 becomes the child giving instruction to Anna through the scene and is disappointed when she doesn't follow his instructions. That was most of us when Dora acted blind.

Ep 5 to 10: I saw what the commenter was saying with the chemistry with the ML & FL's step mother. She is clearly very attracted to him when he is just probably doing his job. But the ML has this intense look on his face even with Yoo Jin, so its hard to know what he is thinking. But you can clearly see the difference between how he feels with the FL. He is always so excited when he watches the FL. (Seems stalkerish but since he is bodyguard...) I didn't much like him for the FL in the beginning because he left her behind when she was begging him to save her. But seeing that he was also in a predicament at the time, it is understandable. How many times have we gone out of our way to help others? Wow, Yoo Jin is really very pitiful, to be so vile inside to take out your frustration on Anna who she should have treated with care. The poor girl was so damn depressed she didn't need another round of mental beatings from her vile step-mother or so called "father". Yoo Jin & Se Joon both deserve each other.

Ep 11 to 16: A time or two I wondered if Jae Ha was being ignorant of Yoo Jin's feelings for him. But he was very aware, you would have to be blind to not notice, & its hard not to be aware of them when she let so many things slide for him. He pegged her right, she wanted to own him like a slave. I have long gotten over the prejudice I once had about Noona romances. So, I did see that there was indeed chemistry between them, if only Yoo Jin was another person with at least a little empathy I would have shipped them. This could have been a whole other drama. But she acted like a jealous youth even knowing that K2 had feelings for Anna as well. She has continuously mistreated, misused, and abused Anna. Her verbal abuse only increased once K2 came into their life. It was sometimes quite sad and pitiful to watch her make one mistake after another having nary a regret. Even when K2 was injured she went out of way to humiliate Anna. But she was such a complex character, I have to give kudos to the writer for this one. That women had beautiful brain. Liked how it ended. Didn't skip a lot of scenes because things got very intense and interesting.

This was definitely a good watch.

Actors did a tremendous job portraying such complex characters. (Did not like the romance)

Ep 1: It was a rollercoaster of emotions. I started out liking Young Soon, she was such a strong woman not just physically but at the time mentally as well. It was nice to watch Young Soon & Hae Shik's romance progress into marriage. They were good to each other and Hae Shik was so damn nice. One of the reason it saddens me to see how Young Soon treated Kang Ho. She isn't wrong though, being nice did get Hae Shik killed. That doesn't excuse the trauma she inflicted on her son. Even knowing her reasons doesn't make her a good mother. As if that wasn't enough, she has to blame her son for his father getting killed? Shitty parenting, right there. That's the kind of twisted mothers that we don't need. Her mental strength in the beginning was clearly a facade that shattered with the death of her husband. I read a comment somewhere from a twisted woman that she wouldn't forgive the FL for ruining ML's exam like that. How are people so emotionally stunted? Are you going to leave your partner who has just had an accident to fend for themselves to just attend an exam that can be repeated? That's right. Exams' can be repeated, you can't treat your people like shit. People who treat you well are precious. They need to be treated the same. Overall, such a good story with depth. The FL is an interesting but silly character, but that's exactly what the poor guy needs after being treated the way he was by his mother.

Ep 2: Since the drama was highly recommended by numerous Instagram accounts, I am sure that the ML isn't a bad guy but is plotting something. The mother and child are alive somewhere, no need to be fooled by only parts of what they are showing us. Even though, I detest Young Soon, it did seem like Kang Ho was harsh on her. But you could see that even with what he was doing, he was conflicted. I'm not sure that woman ever apologized for the harm that she caused to her child. I liked that he iced her out. He is giving her everything she gave him, except for the warmth she failed to give. Mi Joo's life seems to be going in a different direction. With the way, things were left hanging about their relationship in previous episode, it was natural to assume that Kang Ho broke up with her so that he could not be swayed by things and focus on his exams. I thought she was the aunt to the children but she is actually their mother. It would have been better had the father of her children been anyone other than Kang Ho, because once he broke up with her he didn't look back.

Ep 3: Did not think that Ha Young would be like that. I didn't like her for her interaction with Mi Joo, when she acted bratty. But she seemed to liked Kang Ho, so I figured everyone has a right to move on in their life. Right now, I'm wondering why she took the decision she did. Did she figure out the reason Kang Ho was hell-bent on marrying her? Coming to the Mom, she finally behaved in a manner of that a Mom should. She finally cared for him in the right way when he was paralyzed. So much for having a new father, who didn't look into what was happening with Kang Ho once he was paralyzed. I'm sure Kang Ho was disgusted to even interact with that guy, but he probably did so seeking revenge. I'm a bit divided on how to feel about her withholding food from him to motivate him. It worked, so I'm happy that she is aiding his recovery. But there could have been other ways. She is just someone who isn't equipped to find those ways and would instead stick to her character. At least, she knows that she is a bad mom. But not all of her accepts it, because she did say that she treated him that way when he was a child was for his own good. That was a cop out.

Ep 4: Although I don't like her for how she treated her child, I'm slowly growing to respect Ha Young for who she is now. It is good to see Kang Ho play with the kids, something he rarely got to do when he was a kid. In a way, this is like a second chance for him. I though Kang Ho had broken up with Mi Jo after he missed his exam. It was surprising to see that they picked up again, especially Mi Joo being so forgiving when he left without a word. This time around, he might have broken up with her because he wanted to pursue his revenge. Mi Joo life is going downhill now, her partner stole all the money and ran away. Now, she has to climb out of that hole and also find another way to make money for her kids. The only thing I didn't like about Mi Joo was that she kept her being pregnant from him. I imagine their lives would have been better had she told him about it. But you never know, he still might have gone down the revenge path.

Ep 5: With the way their past relationship was developing, I had a feeling that Kang Ho would abandon Mi Joo in the way he did. What a cruel way to dump someone who was there for you. It would have bee better for Mi Joo to end up with Sam-Sik. He is chaotic as hell but he would have been a better choice. Kang Ho really lucked out with his accident. He's going to be forgiven by her because she feels pity for him. I do not like it, especially since he made such a selfish decision and tried to buy off her love. This is the kind of romance I avoid watching. Let's see if he does anything to make up for the hurt he is caused once he regains his memory. If not, then I'm gonna feel more sad for Mi Joo and her children.

Ep 6 & 7: I have come to realize that the Drama's name is very apt. The Good Bad Mother, although so far a lot of it was bad with some rays of Good shining through. I was pretty shocked with her decision to give up on her life. Instead, I thought she was going to get some treatment so she could live at least a while longer. But I guess she felt pushed into a corner so its hard not to feel bad for her as well. Poor Kang Ho had to see her at that moment. He must have been so scared. I feel bad for Mi Joo as well. From the way things are going, it looks like she has more empathy than the past Kang Ho deserved. She is going to soften and probably look after him when his mother dies.

Ep 8 to 10: It must have hurt Mi Joo so much to have seen Kang Ho with another woman while she was there with their children. She will forgive him, but will she ever forget the pain? I want Mi Joo and her twins to be happy. I want Kang Ho to be happy as well, but not before he makes amends. Even when he dumped her like that, she still waited for him, only to be dumped again. I hope Mi Joo gets the closure she deserves. I didn't much like Kang Ho's explanation about how he loved her too much, when the idiot never even knew that it was to fight battles together and not leaving people in the dust after you have used them.

Ep 11 to 14: What bothers me the most about this drama is that it gives out the message that its okay to treat people poorly as long as you have a reason to do it. Young Soon had a reason for being an abusive mother. Kang Ho had a reason for abandoning Mi Joo then he got together with Ha Young. Mi Joo & her mother's reason for loving men who didn't love them enough. Well they all got what they wanted so a happy ending for them.

Kudos to the cast for pulling off such a great feat. I'm off to watch "Welcome To Samdalri" because some parts of this drama reminded me of my fav's Cho Young Pil & Sam Dal. My heart needs healing from all the stress this drama put me through.

A very engaging drama with depth that moves you to tears.

Ae Ra & Dong Man: They started out strong. Loved the way the progressed. So damn adorable both of them. Coming to the one major conflict they had. When I first watched the drama, I was always upset with Ae Ra. Can you imagine being happy with a partner when you are asked to give up such a big part of who they are? Had Dong Man given up on fighting, he would have resented her and that in itself would have destroyed there relationship. At the time, I was so mad at her that forgot the Doctor's diagnoses and how he said that Dong Man might be unable to hear if he is hit in the same place again.
During my second watch, I could put myself in Ae Ra's shoes. How would I feel if my partner who is at risk of going deaf insists that he continue fighting? She was the one who took care of him, when he thought he had lost his hearing and saw him be miserable. Since something that traumatic happened to him, he was very uncommunicative during the time, as was his right. What's worse is that she was already worried about the fight between him and Tak Soo. So, that definitely put her off the edge.
That doesn't mean she had the right to give him such an ultimatum. Apart from that one aspect, they were good to each other and for each other. I'm glad that they were able to work through it, even though it took Ae Ra some time.

Joo Man & Sol Hee: I see a lot of people going out of their way defending Joo Man for not being able to handle the love & support that many people can only dream of having. That's something I won't praise him for. He wasn't all wrong though. He was rational and tried to tell Sol Hee numerous times that she should look after herself more, but she wasn't listening. But still, they both had such a big communication issue. Even though he was rational, he failed to realize that Sol Hee didn't want to live in a big house. It was something that he decided on his own. She just wanted to be married to him, no matter where they lived. One thing that bothered me about Joo Man is the lack of effort, he could have cared for her the way she did for him, maybe not to the extremes but just a little. If he thought that she was saving up & not getting anything for herself, he could have treated her to things long time ago, way before things went so wrong and he tried to get her that pink dress just because she was an embarrassment to him. The thing with the intern was so ridiculous, he led her on because she reminded him of Sol Hee when she was young. My heart goes out to Sol Hee a bit, had she been with someone like Dong Man, she would have been cherished. What I do not like about her character is that she let too many things slide. She was obsessed with loving Joo Man and he couldn't do anything wrong. She was also willing to overlook things, like when he lied about meeting the intern. They just weren't a right fit for each other. I didn't want them to end up with each other. But sadly they did. Many people would say that this is the way of real relationships, however that's an excuse for not putting enough efforts into your relationship. Not accepting that its possible to beat that low-effort cycle is just as naive as assuming that life is all unicorn and rainbows.

Final note, all actors did a wonderful job portraying their characters.

Love the leads and their awkward chemistry.

This is the 2nd time I'm watching the drama and I like it just as much as I did it on the first go. The leads so damn awkward and yet somehow manage to make every scene they are together in hot. The ML while not traditionally good looking has such a great personality that makes him even more attractive. I love discovering actors with such looks. Often he seems like a Lego character that happened to venture into barbie kingdom.

The plot was okay. I watched it mostly because I was happy with the leads & it doesn't take a lot of time. A quick bite.

The ML is one of the greenest flags in Kdrama history. (2nd watch)

The ML was such a kind and nice person from the get go. He had a hard time expressing himself sometimes but once he understood things he avoided making those same mistakes again. And we could hardly call them mistakes.

The FL was nice and all but the the ML stole the show. The 2nd couple were more interesting than the FL, but she was a good partner for ML. Seeing them together makes me feel so warm and happy. The 2nd couple had a breakup that wasn't really needed. I'm not even sure if they ended up together as a couple or just friends. The guy clearly likes her but they spent some time apart and he might have gotten over it. They obviously share some affection but its hard to surmise from the scenes after they met again if they were going to try being together again.

A funnier and more romantic version of the 2016 drama of the same name.

I watched this one first and liked it on the first go. As I was about to rewatch it, I discovered the 2016 drama, which is was watched for the first time, before rewatching this one. Both dramas have their appeal. Where the 2016 drama has more depth and sticks to the crime tone more, this one is more sillier and funny. The ML is both are very attractive, however, even that didn't much endear me to the 2016 drama, as it lacked romance. They dropped the ball on that one.

This 2023 version picked up that ball and gave us better romance, even balancing other genres well. This version clearly has a higher rewatch value for me. (Already seen it twice) Sometimes this silliness is just what we need in life to make us laugh. I liked certain aspects of this story better, especially the part about the FL being the one to loose a friend to murder. It just added more to her character.

More focused on the criminal aspect than romance (Not bad but wish it had more romance)

The leads were amazing. I liked the ML and FL both as individuals. They also have good chemistry, sadly it was underutilized. We get to see how the FL developed her feelings for the ML, but we have no clue about how it happened for the ML. In his case, it simply seemed too abrupt and without any explanation. They got together in the final episode and he directly proposed marriage. Had the romance been better paced or more present, it would have had some rewatch value for me. But right now, I won't be coming back to this.

I did find the actors a refreshening change and will be checking out more of their dramas, hopefully some with better romance.

I watched the drama first, this movie could have been better but it lacked proper execution.

First things first, this is my first time watching Angelababy act and I must say she did a much better job at portraying Bei Wei Wei compared to the actress in the drama. I'm sure Bei Wei Wei's character was written that way in the drama and it made it boring to watch despite the chemistry between the two. Now, in the movie, Bei Wei Wei, was as she should be, full of life and gamer with much more than an ounce of personality.

Both Jing Bo Ran's & Yang Yang's Xiao Nai were pretty similar to met. They were both nice to the FL and it is a quality that appreciate in the MLs of the romance dramas I prefer to watch.

And I was so surprised to see three stars of dramaworld as secondary character with very little contribution to the movie. Li Xian, Tan Song Yun, and Janice Wu. There story arcs were such that they almost disappeared in the background. Only their memorable faces made me remember them.

Now, coming to the story, the drama did a much better job. While we understand the time limit and how compression works, the movie was not executed well. It lacked flow, the scenes changed abruptly. The romance developed suddenly. I have seen many dramas where 1 single episode showcased so many different scenes but the transition between them was perfect.

But was it worth the time spent watching it? Yes, not bad for a one time watch.
