How this unexpected addiction (let's call a spade a spade) started... 

Beginnning of September 2022 I was experiencing a slump/drought on N..., a wellknown streaming device. Despite an endless list of series and movies to watch, nothing was tempting me.
A friend had recently recommended a South Korean drama named "Crash Landing On You". I wasn't convinced but, knowing her excellent taste, I put the title on my watchlist... and left it there. At that time, I wasn't even aware of the existence of Asian TV-series (I know, I know), let alone that they were SO MANY and called "dramas".  
That famous streaming platform soon began to suggest other South Korean dramas' titles and I finally succombed to temptation: the first one I clicked on was "Business Proposal". And what a cultural shock it was ! After watching it, I was still a litte skeptical but I was definitely intrigued.
I finally saw -the now classic- "Crash Landing On You" (aka CLOY) as a second Kdrama... and down the rabbit hole I went.

As a newbie I quickly realised how late I was in the game. After just a few months I already had waayyyyy too many Kdramas on my "never ending" watchlist. So I made a promise to myself to NEVER EVER watch other Asian countries' dramas (or films). That would be completely insane, right ?
Well, less than six months later that promise went down the drain ! (Why am I not surprised ?!)

At the moment (June 2024), around 45% of all the dramas and films I'm watching are (still) Korean. The rest is about 30% Chinese, 10% Taïwanese, 10% Japanese and 5 % Thaï. I like all genres but I'm not a fan of Horror ('cause I'm a chicken) or particularly interested in Anime.

I'm more of a "binger" kind of watcher. That's one of the reasons I rarely start an airing show before all episodes are released. Also the risk of forgetting what happened the week before is too great for me ! ;-D
It can be hard for me to drop a drama (probably because I'm still a newbie and I want to watch as many/much as possible) but I am working on it.  Slowly.
By the way, fastforwarding/speed watching is a crime. Obviously. And don't get me started on dubbing ! A sacrilege, no less.
