The first episode (30 minutes) was short and tersely paced with fights and couple of crimes. The male protagainist was well portrayed as was the female protaganist. Hooks were baited and the story successfully lured me to continue. Fight choreography was good.
I like the characters played out so far. A little iffy with the Xiao Ye character but this is just the first episode.

Start of Episode 2 was hilarious as the ex-girlfriend tried to show up the female lead but was foiled by the female lead's uick thinking. Great little scene that highlighted the two sides of the female lead. I rewatched this scene at least half a dozen times so far.Also wonderful support casting of the female lead's friend and psychiatrist and a few others in the cast. The male lead's assistant was a little sissy but a good contrast to his boss.Spoiler: It was also good that the female's craziness was explained so early in the series as this should lead to more interaction between the two leads.Keeping on watching.

Episode 1 was a delight. Acting was great, the leads had chemistry. The story premise was different from other rom-com and was not quite sure how it would play out. But the scenes were compelling especially given how well the female lead played the role. The male lead was great as well.First episode did well in painting the background to the series. Great start to the series. Hope it would hold up to its promise.

This was the female protagonist's motto and this was what drove her actions. I loved Gina Jin's expressions during her performance, it's so over the top that I felt happy even though the some of scenes were so minor. I especially enjoyed the interactions between the Emperor and the female lead, rewatching those scenes several times just to giggle at them.\Great intro to the series.

This is an important episode as it gave the backgrounds of Meng Fei's circle of Inner Palace friends. Some excitement as jealousy raised its head.

4*The starting chase scene ended in tragedy but that's also the reason why the princess is a fake princess.Typical court politics galore within the first 10 minutes of the show - inheritance infighting, court officials' struggle to gain more power. Some interesting elements were introduced: a bandit head and various gimmicky gadgets.The female lead was new to me and I enjoyed her performance enough I sought her other works to check them out. The Crown Prince was cute but acting was stiff and stilted. Was that suppose to be his character?Will continue watching the next episode

The beginning was slow with some ambiguous scenes where there were hints of plot afoot but not enough to stir any curiousity. It got more interesting when the story backtracks to a month before the start.

when a dead body is found in a well soon after she body switches into a rare cat. Good good actors, some mediocre ones.Really like both theme songs. The closing song had me tapping my paw, oops I mean foot.

Even the interaction with Maid Trio is so relaxed and sweet. Introducing a new character, a female general who likes food. Which ties in with the female protaganist's main Power, cooking! However, fight scenes are meh.Rewatchable.

3*It's still a 3 star episode because of the stilted acting, The story is a typical romance plot but the series grew on me. I am beginning to worry what would happen to this couple as they slowly develop feelings for each other.

I started watching this a week after I saw the Hwarang interview showcasing the 6 male actors in 2020. I thought it would be an idol type drama and hesitated but seeing the 8 rate on MDL, I went looking for one episode to test watch.Boy! Am I glad I did. This was nothing like I expected. From the fight scene onwards, I felt for the characters and was rooting for them.Hoping the other episodes offer a similar experience. If this holds up, I will be buying this series for myself!Rewatchable. 3 times so far.

3*Started watching in 2020. The opening theme was lovely and that set my expectations.... which was not met. The episode started out with concocting medicine for the Prince which had a strange illness and the acting went downhill soon after. In the scene when the main female protagonist was introduced, the acting was so fake. Together with that comic background music, I was not sure what to expect next. Simple plot during rest of 1st episode was simple, not much conflict. At least each episode is only 35 minutes or so long.... _-_ Will continue to watch for a few more episodes. Afterall there must be something redeeming if there are 3 seasons in this series.

At the meeting place, while her team was arresting the man who snatched the ransom, Xu Xu saw something that make her suspicious and she went off on her own to investigate. Earlier, her team leader had pulled her back when the team was rushing towards the kidnapper because he had told her, it was not essential for her to be on the scene. He said she would be a liability.

Suspense suspense. I 'hate' the music because i was jumping in my seat and scolding Xu Xu.

This episode showcased the petite Xu Xu's ability establishing her expertise and also revealed the firm determination under her mild mannered demeanour.
A snatch had taken place but it was hinted that there might be more to this as they set up the scene to nap the bad guys.

Wow Woooah Eek! This episode started fine and then drew me in. The acting was good, the chemistry was wonderful but the closing was ... a little corny but not enough to put me off the next episode.
The female cast were good, effusive but not too the point of annoying like in alot of Taiwanese and Mainland Chinese shows.
Gave a 8 because this opening episode did what it was suppose to do, draw the audience in and keep us wanting to watch.
