Just plain terrible in every way
This show is just bad. And stupid. And bad again. I really didn't enjoy it from the start but as all the reviews said to persevere to episode 5, I did just that and frankly, I deserve a bravery award for making it as far as I did. The whole premise of the cool kids inexplicably fancying and wanting to hang with all the geek reject kids is laughable, but not in the way you'd want.
Toh is beyond ridiculous as a character - having a secret crush doesn't generally involve saving everything your crush touches (including rubbish) in a ziplock bag and periodically sniffing it, plastering your wall with secret photos you've taken of them, and having bedsheets printed with them on it (how did he even get that photo that's printed on the sheets?!) It would have made some vague sense if he fancied an idol who he'd never meet, but the idea of doing that with a guy you go to school with smacks of a pretty severe mental illness. His voice is intensely irritating and his smile makes me want to punch him in the face until his glasses disintegrate. Needless to say, none of that makes him a likeable character who you're rooting for.
Toh's crush ... let's be real, Toh's stalking victim, Nuea, is completely devoid of any personality or intelligence, but I'm sure that even if someone with his limited mental capacity knew the truth about Toh's obsessive proclivities, he'd run a mile, as well he should. But instead, he seems to find Toh's social anxiety ridden exclamations charming, so frankly he deserves whatever he has coming to him, which in real life would be him being kneecapped and held hostage in a sunny version of Misery.
Sky's "50 no's and a yes still mean yes" approach to dating is disturbing (as is his face), and the fact that he's doing it to Jao, a guy who looks and acts like a 12 year old with autism doesn't really scream "romance" to me. And when Sky asked him to be his lover after Jao pretended to commit suicide, I knew this show was a lost cause.
Som, Daisy, Tor, Fon and Khongkwan are fine.
The reviews for this both astound and baffle me as I couldn't find a single redeeming feature in this train wreck of a show. If your thing is watching dumb cool kids inexplicably wanting to date dumb geek kids who act like children on day release from special school, you'll probably enjoy this. But I suggest you ignore the positive reviews, don't waste five hours of your precious life like I did, and literally watch anything else.
