Missed opportunity
I was increasingly frustrated with this series, and by and large there were a lot of missed opportunities and rushed or underdeveloped story and character beats.
First, the positives: There were a lot of good elements that kept me watching and engaged - several mysteries, the chemistry between all three leads, the overall look of the show.
Thankfull, it wasn't dragged out and the plot didn't run in circles the way other Thai dramas tend to do.
My biggest problems lies with the characters, which to me is the most important thing to get right. They're the reason for me to get engaged, to feel with them. Or not.
None of the characters were particularly interesting or three-dimensional. The villains were the most one note cardboard cutout stereotypes with nothing more to them. What a waste of perfectly capable actors.
But the worst character to me is none other than Win, the main protagonist.
I'm all for flawed characters who make mistakes, but he never redeemed himself. He only acknowledged his faults to one person but he never apologized for terrorising nearly everyone around him. Or really changed. Much. Right at the beginning he did one of the worst things to someone very close to him, something with horrific consequences and we never see him apologize for it, or even admit his mistake.
Which also brings me to the characters around him who just take his behavior without push back, without holding him accountable. It was so frustrating to watch and really distracted me from the rest of the story.
All in all it was a nice little story with heart that felt undercoocked with one note characters and a bit lazy writing.
