Snowdrop
Snowdrop is a black comedy.
In this Korean TV series, the 1987 student struggles are the backdrop for the drama. It shows the dangers of slavishly following political dogma and the evil nature of some humans. It is not an easy watch. There is violence throughout.
The love story doesn't take over.
There is no clear division between traditionally good and bad sides. Spies are uncovered throughout the series and some characters swap sides readily. Others kill by informing, by making trouble or by bullying. Even the female captives turn on each other with the most trivial of reasons.
The cast is very good from top to bottom. They are mostly young and to be applauded. With great respect, it is nice to see so much of Kim Mi-soo on the screen.
I think the script is very good but I know that there has been criticism.
Be kind.
