Otherwise I feel the storyline is lacking depth. There is much history between the two lead roles which is not clearly defined. Dramatization of certain parts seems too extravagant and doesn't seem realistic. And the story feels rushed. 40 episodes would have been a more comfortable stretch if they had dug into the main characters a bit more.
The music was good, however not addictive. When I listen to its title track, I immediately do not connect to the 24 episodes that I saw. In many other dramas like Guardian, GOT, Scarletheart, Prison Playbook, Legend of Chusen, etc; their OSTs are very addictive and recognizable.
But still, it was a great one time watch. ENJOY!

A Pleasure To Watch...!
The reason I feel that Gong Jun and Zhang ZheHan’s acting skills are really really very good in this drama:-I recently read in a tweet where Priest’s WoH novel readers were discussing that who amongst ZZH and GJ was more dominant in the (Supposed) relationship...
This is when I noticed...
When they are in the drama as A-Xu and Lao Wen, then Wen KeXing seems to be the dominant force...
But when they are together in normal attire in interviews and all, it surely feels like ZZH is going to dominate over this bubbly n cute little shidi of his....! Coz Gong Jun in real life is much more shy than Zhang Zhe Han..... WELL ACTED! Indeed Great Acting Skills!
The casting decisions despite being totally revised due to COVID remained so accurate and to a certain extent even better than the previous choices!
This proves that the casting team & producers, script writers, director and especially the actors were reallllyyyyyyy good in the drama and the script was very well written so as to bring out the characters from within the actors....!
I look forward to WORD OF HONOR winning many many awards this year!

Mid-way Review = Excellent.
I have watched till episode 15 so far.And I am thoroughly convinced that the remaining half will surely not disappoint me.
The production quality, the superb acting of every lead, support and guest actor is just surprisingly in sync and amazing.
The detailing of the direction is praiseworthy. The storyline is very well charted, with logical progression and reactions to each event that happens and its domino effects!
The veteran actors are obviously amazing, however what is even more impressive is the range of Chen Zhe Yuan as an actor…! Fantastic portrayal of Lin Shao Bai!
Kudos to the scriptwriters and directors for such a beautiful depiction of each character’s growth as they experience different circumstances.
The antagonists are equally praiseworthy in their acting! ?
The “Underscore” of the drama compliments the tension and emotions of the moment on screen so so very well! Many viewers overlook the overall importance of the sound effects and the background score / underscore of a movie or a drama…. In this drama, the dubbing and sound is surely of great quality.
As I said, superior production…

Especially, Shen Wei's character is played beautifully by Zhu Yi Long! He perfectly resonates with the description in the book! *APPLAUSE*!
The special effects are decent and the Title Track music is fantastic! (Though reminds me of the Game of Thrones Title track). Also, considering the storyline in the book and such amazing casting, I feel 40 episodes were too less and kept on wanting more!
Overall, great drama. Must watch atleast once, and then read the book as well if possible.

Surely a 1-time Watch ?
Definitely a one time watch for crime action/thriller lovers.First and foremost I absolutely loved the 90s vibe throughout the drama…!
Secondly, every one acted quite well. There were no awkward characters who were unnecessarily annoying or illogical. The two leads were great in their characters.
At times the drama drags, but not long enough that we lose interest. I would say the drama overall has a good pace. From the plot perspective (and considering that this is a 90’s era POV), there are a few loopholes, though they are not major enough to bother you too much. Some incidents are per-shadowed so much that you don’t even need to guess about who’s gonna get hurt or who’s gonna die… ?♀️
There is not much rewatch value for the drama overall.
MY FAVOURITE PART:
The ending soundtrack…!
Every episode (all 32), I ended it after fully listening to the closing soundtrack. Great composition with a typical 90’s vibe! Made me so Nostalgic ❤️❤️

Worth a quick watch…
While I can say that this is an entertaining drama, it surely doesn’t leave an impact of any sorts on you.Production is alright, acting of leads is good.
However, the buildup that they created at the end just fell flat in the last 2-3 episodes….
It was rushed, and left us questioning the intelligence of the villain ??
Looks like they have kept the ending open to season 2, however I won’t miss too much in case they don’t produce it at all.

Thrilling …!!!
I watched the drama without much expectations!Buy my oh my!
I loved it…!
The grandfather and grandson/secretary (aka Song Joong Ki) have single handedly carried the whole drama!
There is not a moment of boredom, and the romance is at minimum non obstructive level…! Totally my kinds!
There are loopholes at times no doubt, however they are ignorable as the story pace and acting very well covers up those loopholes! The thrill as the story progresses keeps you going!
Also, few reviewers have been complaining about the plot line deviating from the original novel….
However, I strongly feel that this drama should be watched as just a drama and not a remake of any novel. Only then will you enjoy it…
The acting and pacing of the story is good enough to constantly keep a hold on you. Quite satisfied with Song Joong Ki’s acting! He did sooo well…!
It is surely a one time watch…!
