Simple but adorable.
"About youth" is one of the dramas that after finishing we ask: "Is that all" ? "I want more..."As many other people, when the drama first started being aired , I did not know about its existence. It appeared out of nowhere and maybe not revolutionised but brought something refreshing and calming to the bl drama world. What is great about "About youth" is that despite being simple and light it was manage to captivate important issues such as abusive parent's behaviour and its huge influence on a child. The chemstry between two leads was really natural and charming without many sophisticated romantic kisses, hugs and NC scenes there were lot of fluffy moments which made me blush when I obsereved how they become friends, brothers , lovers and the biggest supporters for each others. When it comes to the other couple I was not really invested in their story since it was quite typical but still adorable. The most fantastic element of this drama is its OST- I fell in love with the music and since I finished watching the drama I cannot stop humming: "I can't forget your face in slow motion.." Masterpiece !! Deffinitelly worth watching if you search for something light. This drama is so simple yet so endearing. I highly recommend :)

Dangerous romance or boring romance?
GMMTV never ceases to amaze me how they can turn a promising story into the most mediocre one. GMMTV has a real talent for creating fantastic teasers for its series, and Dangerous Romance is no different. Once again, I was fooled and decided to watch this presumably action-packed story of dangerous love . Well, as we all already know the final product turned out to be something completely different. What is this series actually about? Good question :) In a way, I felt like I was watching an anthology of three different stories: 1) the transformation of a bully into a good boy through love (ep 1-3) 2) My lovely tutor (ep 3-9) and finally 3) where did this gangster story come from? (10-11). I started having a serious crisis as early as episode 6, as did Khan, who started acting as if he had a split personality. The poor guy couldn't decide who he actually loves - he loves Pimfah, but flirts with Sailom, even though he supposedly feels nothing for him, and then suddenly he's jealous of him? WTF? Then with each episode there was only more of this shit and then I realized that to be able to finish this series you have to turn off your brain and stop analyzing it. I won't even mention that this series is a conglomeration of the most common bl tropes that exist: sponge bath? check. Accidental fall? check. Staring at each other for 30 seconds without saying a word? Check. Love triangle? check. Trip to the beach? check. It's like a recurring nightmare from watching 'Hidden Agenda' but with better actors. I regret watching this series.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
They kidnapped the plot
The only positive aspect of this series is that we get to see Ohm again in BL. Period. GMMTV strikes again with its next action-pacted series, which typically turns out to be another repetitive rom-com flop. This series is becoming less watchable with every episode. Where has all the premise from the teasers and trailers gone? Where has all the suspense of the kidnapping gone? and finally Where has the plot gone in the second part of the series? I'm oficially out. Every week I struggle to get to an end of the episode (which by the way is 3/4 shown in the preview after each episode) looking for something intriguing, but there is nothing. I don't know why but this series painfully reminds me of the tragedy of the series called "Dangerous romance" but with slightly better chemistry. I like Ohm and started watching this series mainly for him like many other people, but we have to face the facts and realise that this series has nothing more to offer in terms of plot, which of course has to be absurdly stretched to prolong our suffering as well. And don't even make me start about PRODUCT PLACEMENT... I haven't seen such unsubtle product placement since Vice Versa. Unforntunatelly, all that was kidnapped was almost 9 hours of my life.

Dirty laundry but pure entertainment.
This series was short but a real fun. I don't remember when I laughed so hard watching something. Obviously, the humour is an individual thing so many people may consider Dirty laundry as a stupid series since there's a really fine line between being funny and being cringe, and some series have proven that it's very easy to cross it if you get the humour balance wrong (Secret crush on you , YYY, Big dragon?). Still, I agree humour here is kind of primitive I would say- A man dress up as a woman, doing pole dancing, etc. I get that it may not be funny for everybody but the whole story which is very well written in simple and funny way is worth giving a try. I also agree that the behaviours of characters are sometimes exaggerated, their conversations and faces are sometimes stupid and unbelievable but that's the basis of this series and I love every minute of it. Moreover, I love all the characters. Every one of them has their own funny story to show/ tell on the screen, and they are really well-developed given how short this series is. I would say that the writers here in 6- episodes series were able to develop characters better than in for example 12-episodes “Between Us”. The actors play so well especially Nannon who really slays the comedy roles as well as Film or Pond who looked flawless <3. The series is so light and relaxing. It's a total beguilement but worth every minute of your time. I will definitely watch it again when I have a bad time. Totally recommend.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Vice versa- in the world(s) full of product placement and praises for GMMTV.
Don't get me wrong. Despite this unfavourable title I do not really hate this series. I am just a little disappointed by it. Well, Vice Versa was one of the series I was really looking forward. I really like Jimmy and his visuals, so I was kinda hyped when I saw teaser and later on the trailer. Moreover, there were also Ohm and Nannon in the series so what could have gone wrong? What about [almost] everything? Vice Versa is created similarly to other series from GMMTV (we have interesting two first episodes where we have presented kind of plot, later we forget about that- at least 7-8 episodes is devoted to love, love, love and again love and finally in the last episodes creators recall themselves that we had supernatural theme in series, so they present it very shortly and not really sophisticated in the last episodes not forgetting that it must be also some drama somewhere between all of this). I hoped for a moment that it is going to be the fantasy story with love elements but it turned out to be rather another way round- it was romcom with few fantasy elements. I am not really OK with that because if we cut out the whole body swap and alternative world's themes, we are left with the same boring, very mediocre story about two boys who fell in love with each other which we saw many times in GMMTV productions. Main problem of this series is that it is too long- this story does not have a potential to have so many episodes (it should have at most 8 episodes and the sense would still remain the same). I had an impression that most episodes were only fillers (for example, I don't even know how many episodes about making film or even two films) and VERY INVASIVE product placement scenes for drinks, cookies, motorbikes, toothpaste and of course KFC- some scenes were created only to present a certain product and not for the plot itself what is sad and frustrating at the same time. I also think that this drama was a perfect opportunity to GMMTV to prise itself and to show off by pulling out of the closet the most popular GMMTV stars like Tay Tawan, Gun Athapan, mama Goji or Perth (but here I am grateful for that) and many others together with the most recognisable lines from the most popular productions of GMMTV like " Together” or “Sotus”. The whole alternative world was created only for this purpose. Icannot help thinking that this series is so GMMTV- made unlike any other series ever made by it. I agree, at first it was funny but later it became tiring and pathetic. The worst thing for me is that the plot was completely bungled I think the concept was good and had potential on the paper but not in this form on the screen. However, there is one and only aspect I like in this series- the chemistry of main leads. Even though they are rookies, they did a good job they were comfortable with each other and really sweet (even though some scenes were also cringy and cheesy). I disagree with many people who claim that Jimmy plays bad I just think he lacks of experience and I am waiting for his another projects as a main lead. Sea was okeyish and I really like his acting. Other characters were also good but nothing special. The important issue: Ohm and Nannon- It was good to see them again and I think their appearance in the series was the main reason why loads of people decided to watch Vice Versa at all but their screen time was painfully short and I guess viewers were thirsty for more. Overall, it was not the worst series I have ever watched but not good either, it could just have been better. I don't recommend and I don't advise against it. For me just mediocre BL with unfortunately wasted potential.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Too bad to be even a guilty pleasure.
Have you ever come across a series which was bad, but you couldn't stop watching it because it was somehow interesting? On my watching list, there are several series like for instance "Fahlanruk" or "Unforgotten night" which are absurd, poorly played and very predictable, but I couldn't stop watching them till the last episode because they gave me pure entertainment. Well... "Big dragon" won't be assigned to this list, even tough I was hoping for that. Definitely not. It is entirely bad. First thing first, the series was really hyped long before it was aired because of great teaser and trailer, which deceived many people (including me) to watching it. I together with loads of people expected this series to be something different, refreshing or even groundbreaking, unfortunately it turned out to be a total mess.Let's start from the plot : problematic one - two rich assholes who are players, Yai who wants a revenge on Mankorn for taking his crush, intrigue with ra*ing one another and blackmailing eo with that. As if that was not enough, somewhere in between there is an arranged marriage included (the main problem of the series, which is resolved in 3 minutes. BRAVO...). Total chaos. Give me a break.
Overall, I would divide this series into two parts: from episode 1 to 4 and from episodes 5 to 8. The problem is that this series lacks of balance. My biggest fear was that I won't be able to deal with the humour (which wasn't explicitly shown in trailer, so it caught me out of guard). Sometimes it was difficult for me to bear it, especially first four episodes was like a cabaret with the bodyguards as main clowns. Still, the sense of humour of viewers is diverse, so maybe some people enjoyed this "comedy" but I didn't. After exhausting (but somehow kinda aye-catching) 4 episodes I was still hoping for improvement of this series, but I didn't wait it. The series from being kinda intriguing, with the seed of potential for a better story, developed into sleep parade with the melodrama in the background. Nah, I was bored to death. It was a challenge to finish this series as every episode was getting worse and more predictable (esp. ep. 8).
Let's talk about the characters. I don't like the main leads. From the episode 1, there were so many problematic issues about both of them and their hate /love story that I was not able to root for them until the last episode. Please do not romanticize bad, disturbing behaviours and do not change sick people into lovers. I like Isbanky though and I think he did well. The rest of crew was very avarage. When it comes to other characters, they were there as always to fix or destroy something. Bodyguards-useless, P' Nine- cheasy and naive, two girls (couple? ) - well, their whole story is actually presented in trailer, so no need to watch the series because there is nothing more about them there. I need to appreciate the "Mothers segment" though -it was moving and if I were emotionally attached to the main leads, I would shed a tear or two, but not here. Last but not least is OST- for me, "Dancing with the devil" is one of the best songs created for any drama I have ever heard. Congratulation Isbanky, but even this great OST couldn't save this wreck. Sorry :(
Finally, as the series turned out to be nothing new, with the same old cliché hate-love story with happy ending, I think there is no need for this series for a second season. I know many people enjoyed the 1st season and would watch the next one, but I think as the plot of the series is so weak, the series does not have potential to be further developed.

Getting better episode by episode.
I am really surprised how invested I became in this series. First episode as for many other viewers was not really encouraging to for me to watch this series further but I did not give up and I do not regret. After episodes one and two (which were cringy because of the s*x scenes and kisses which made me feel uncomfortable watching it to say the least), things started getting better and plot became more entertaining. Let me put it simply: this drama is not something really discovering or groundbreaking. It reminds me of the series “My secret love " which was also a typical, very predictable drama but still was manage to draw my attention until the final episode and I guess with Fahlanruk the case will be the same. The plot is very simple and ordinary : two boys who fell in love with each other in university setting. Nothing new for someone who watched more than five Bl dramas in his life even if there is 'a friends with benefits' concept presented in it (but the concept itself is not new as we could see it in Check out for example). I think we all agree that the whole FWB theme is a bullshit here since we know that main leads from the very beginning are whipped for each other, and we know how this story must end. Still their story is somehow interesting to watch. I love Ping- Tap couple I think at this moment I watch this drama mostly for them because I like their chemistry and I cannot wait for the realization of Tap's feeling towards Ping. If it comes to the rest characters like most people who watch the drama I really dislike them because their presence in this series does not make much since their whole life seems to go around Fahlan and Sher's love life. Every other character beside main leads appears in this series because they have to stick their noses in Fahlan-Sher relationship and constantly comment on that. It is irritating. What I really like is OST— somehow this cosy rhythms reminds me of Christmas and I never skip the intro. Finally, it is not a perfect drama especially in the intimacy aspect which could have been improved as not to be so cringy. Even though I previously did not have much hope for "Fahlanruk", this drama turned out to be funnier than I expected and it still makes my Sunday evenings more enjoyable. I am waiting for more.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
