Each criminal case was fascinating. The investigations and the way they were conducted were impressive. In the Crime Investigative Unit, there weren't the typical idiotic cops. There were characters who angered me but none who annoyed me. Big Plus.
Sadly, all of the main characters had dismal early development:
One's father was a convicted serial rapist & murderer.
One was repeatedly raped by her adoptive father and abused by the rest of the family.
The other carried the guilt of his sister's murder and lost the love of his mother.
Yet they all tried to live righteously. I just hate their final decision and how it ended.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wonder why this got only four episodes
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wonder why this got only four episodes.I just watched this via Prime Video and checked this site to verify the number of episodes.
It's a promising procedural. And unlike many drama series I've watched, this one shines an extremely positive light on the prosecution department. Several others I've seen (and even news headlines) depicts them as being corrupt. In this series, although there are only two cases depicted, the prosecutor utilized various resources and conducted thorough investigations. I like it and would definitely watch more episodes if they were available. Enjoyed the main cast.
BTW, I gave the "music" five stars because the field is mandatory. Actually, I don't recall the music at all. This means, it's not intrusive or irritating to my ears. However, nor did it grab my attention.
Same with "Rewatch Value." I've already seen it and don't typically watch a second time unless several years passed or I need specifics for discussion.

With only six episodes to go, weeks ago, this thought entered my mind: Do I really have so much life left in me that I can waste it watching a show I hated. But in reality, I didn't hate the show. I liked the plot, all the twists, and especially the handsome cast. I only hated one character and unfortunately, she is the lead. I liked the murderous evil scheming secondary ones more.
So, I feel compelled to ask writers, why is so much importance placed on a character who is so selfish, immature and blind? Why make her unbearable?

This series doesn't go down as easy as the first (for me).
The first season was more entertaining [Fei Liu!]. It had many scenes with levity. It was also loaded with bonds of friendship and loyalty. And the star was the center of the plot -- he drove it and circumvented all the subplots.I tried hard not to compare. But midway through episode 15, I needed to go back to the first season to refresh my memory of the lineage. Too funny, I re-binged the entire series. That's how much I enjoyed it.
In season two, after a year and a half, I just reached episode 22 and realized several of the reasons I don't like it as much. #1. No Fei Liu! And it's all drab and misery. Exception: Brief scenes with PingJing and The Crown Prince (3?). The stars, the heroes, are kind of passive. Plus they're the victims just reacting to things happening to them and around them. Yet the bad people in this season aren't greedy and have no real aim; they're just out for revenge for sick twisted reasons. I suppose the following could be considered spoilers:
• "I was married to the wrong man and the emperor didn't favor me, I'll kill all of the royal family"!
• "My mother was a murderer. Because she killed herself, I must avenge her"!
• "My city was plagued and quarantined. I'll kill the whole country slowly and painfully'!
• "The emperor doesn't give the 12 year old crown prince any meaningful duties. He delegates them to his brother's family. I must kill them all to protect my son"!
Until I find something I enjoy more,... LOL
