TOO MUCH "ME TOO" SYNDROME
Took Tencent quite a few years to wrap their head around creating a 3Lives3Worlds (aka Eternal Love) clone. I'm simply shocked at the speed it took for Tencent to now create a Word of Honor clone.
You see, Tencent had always been a "me too" company. You should see their other works. A lot of their anime derive from classic Japanese anime series. Anyone remember Ranma 1/2? Tencent has a clone of that work called Fox Spirit Matchmaker. Anyways, back to this series, which definitely is Tencent's version of Word of Honor.
PROS:
- Good cinematography
- Excellent CGI and effects
- FL kicks ass
CONS:
- Yang Yang doesn't give out the vibes of a Martial Master. His moves very clumsy like someone who never learned martial arts. Does he even train in martial arts before taking on such roles?
- Cheesy dialogues
- Cliche story gimmicks to drive plot forward
- Feels too much like an idol drama
