Personally, I love sexy BL stories but prefer more arty stuff like The Cage or Cancelled Faces or Happy Together. In this story there is something to predictable but I did enjoy how the plot moved along to reveal the lives of Haruto and Aoyama. It's not as "Noir" as The Cage but still we dive into the conflicts that are presented and is newer because the other films are from earlier times. I think I also agree with other reviewers that say that the plot is rather expected and not so subversive.
