[Note: I watched this series without watching Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me 1 & 2. So my review is based on this third series as its own show.]

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama! It is a fluffy comedy, has a beautiful romance at the center, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

The Demon Master follows leads An Chu Xia and Han Qi Lu through college as they attend classes, make new friends, and have to make decisions about their future. Despite the drama description, amnesia is not the focal point- it is just one of many things to happen to our leads.

The story can be a little ridiculous, full of cliches and things that would just never happen, but if you can suspend your disbelief you will definitely enjoy the ride. I thought the show used enough humor and heart that even major cliches were fun to watch. Like a lot of longer dramas, the final quarter of the show is not as strong as the beginning, so I did feel that some later episodes were filler or just dragged, but because each episode is only 20 minutes long you can easily power through to the end.

Plus, the story moves incredibly fast- most plots were usually wrapped up in an episode or two. I really liked this because problems or miscommunications between the leads were never dragged out to the point of annoyance, and their undeterred love was the true backbone of the show. Friendship was also a major theme and the warm friendships that formed between the main characters was wonderful to watch. Also, love triangles that turn into actual friends for the leads? I'm here for it!

The cast all do well in their roles. Jia Sheng Yu and Yu Vicky (ML & FL) have good chemistry and are super cute together.
I generally like re-watching shows, and I can see myself re-watching The Demon Master when I need a quick pick-me-up in between more serious dramas.

[TL;DR]
This show is a cute rom-com. Even though the plot requires some suspension of disbelief, the cast is adorable, and the romance and friendships that grow over time will keep you rooting for all of the main characters. It is a fun and fast watch, give it a try!

There is something about the perfect bubble that Bei Wei Wei and Xiao Nai live in that makes you want to escape to their world for a few days.

I recently re-watched Love O2O for the first time in 2 years. While I still enjoyed this drama, the small issues that I ignored in my first viewing were more pronounced this time around. I want to write a quick review while these thoughts are fresh~

Pros: This drama is easy to watch, with lovable characters and a charming slice-of-life storyline. I love Yang Yang as Xiao Nai, the bromance between his friends, and all of the gaming scenes. But most of all I love that once the leads become a couple, they never waver or are unnecessarily separated. All obstacles are tackled together and they truly trust one another, which is so refreshing in dramaland that it is one of the main reasons why I wanted to re-watched the series. The story's pace moves slowly, so don't expect any cliffhangers or big surprises, but that was something I personally enjoyed as well.

Cons: The biggest problem I had was with how unreal the entire drama felt. Now, you might be saying "well, duh?", and I know that when watching most dramas we need to suspend our disbelief... but in Love O2O it was impossible for me to ignore. The ML and FL were too perfect, good at everything they touched and so wholesome from the start that they didn't have any character development. Their lives were like a fairytale - they faced very few actual problems and when they did, they were all solved through their own brilliance while the supporting characters were just there as scenery. Their Mary-Sue personalities, coupled with the soft filters used throughout the drama sometimes made me feel like I was watching a dream sequence instead of a real show.
I would say that the whole series was just visual fanfiction, except that the romance felt very dated at the same time. Bei Wei Wei was so incredibly innocent that I could not believe she was a college student in 2015 (when the show takes place). And even though I liked their characters together, I did not feel romantic chemistry between Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang, and their few romantic scenes were uncomfortable to watch. Others may have loved some of these things and rated the show higher for it, but I noticed them so much that it took away from my viewing experience.

Despite my mini-rant in the 'Cons' section, I would still rate the show as average and may even re-watch this again in another few years. I really do like the easygoing plot and the gaming aspect, so I can look past the too-perfect leads. Love O2O has a very unique vibe and I would encourage any potential viewers to give it a try.
