Ok it was pretty bad

I'm kinda disappointed by this because it started off really strong and then fizzled out to the weakest, most confusing ending.
I really don't understand the point of including the teleportation Mr. Ma. His character was just too dumb or silly, and it felt like he took up valuable screen time for the drama. The screen time could have been used for a better ending.
I actually did like some of the comedy portions, but overall the plot was just not it. It had potential but felt severely underfunded.
To be honest, the music was kind of catchy, which I wasn't expecting. The actors are all pretty good in my opinion, none of them had facial paralysis or anything. I feel like the charater for Wei Yichen was supposed to be really deep, and he could have been, but the dry plot sucked away all acting potential.
I actually binged the first 23 episodes and then when I got to the 24th one I just
"bruh"
Like it actually had an interesting beginning, and I really wanted more conclusion to the orphanage teacher lady.

Best part was the meeting with Choi Jiwoo

It's a good story, but it was also pretty cliche. I would recommend this if you're looking for a very mushy fluffy drama. There were many cute scenes between the main actors, and the writers seemed to place in enough conflict that the characters could overcome. There's the typical love triangle, and the many coincidences that make the main actor's love seem like fate. In my opinion, the comedy cut too much into the drama, so that when it was supposed to be serious, it felt out of place.

This feels like a typical asian drama that starts off strong and then fizzles out in the end, which becomes very predictable. The plot itself was straightforward without too many twists and bends - the villains were villains, and the good guys were good guys. I wish the writers brought in more emotional conflict between the two main characters to add some depth rather than just showing closeups of the main couple staring at each other. The family relationship is the most emotionally aggravating, and Bang Eunjin did an especially good job showing the pain and conflict she was facing after Seri's supposed hate for her.

In the end, if you're looking for a fluffy cute drama with a simple story and fate-like coincidences that make the main couple made for each other, then this is a great choice.

Cliche after Cliche

My main problem with this drama is that I didn't feel any chemistry between the main actors. The story I was drawn to most was Connor Leong's acting as Meizuo. Maybe the Casablanca-name-drop and story vibes, along with using As Time Goes By motif hit my soft spot. I felt that the cliche's between the 4 boys in F4 and each relationship was dragged out and didn't blend very nicely with the main plotline between Shancai and Daoming Si. The writers gave up at the end and I almost couldn't finish watching because of how much I hated what was going on in the last couple episodes.

The length of the drama made each obstacle the main characters went through from touching to can-you-get-this-over-with. It was the same circle of repetitiveness and cliches. The soundtrack did a great job matching with the mood of the drama, but I really didn't see a justification of them using River so much. I sped through many parts just because of how predictable each part became.

I do have a problem with Dylan Wang's acting, and you can come at me. Every part he had to show emotion, I didn't feel anything except awkwardness. Of course he's a young actor and has room to improve, but I wish I saw a little more push for emotion.

My last personal opinion and problem with this drama, among many others, is Dong Shancai. Like, the name. I know you can come at my review for "flawed logic", "logical fallacy" but I just don't like it. Who names their kid after a plant, and mostly, a weed? It's so unpoetic and choppy. It's that simple: I. Hate. Dong. Shancai's. Name.

The first season was better than the second

Honestly I didn't see so much bad in the first season, but the second season really needed a slap in the face.
The first season was pretty addicting, I binged it. The plot has lots of potential, and characters have lots of room for development and complexity. The comedy portions were, in fact, funny and I enjoyed watching the lighthearted scenes, especially with the leads.
The three main leads are wonderful. However, the villians seemed to be quite one dimensional and childish.
Overall, I would watch the first season again for the comedic value, but not the second season

A perfect balance of heartwarming relationships and frustrating and twisting plots

I just finished watching The Untamed and it's currently the highest ranked out of all the dramas I've watched
1. The storyline: The storyline was well thought out, rich, and thorough without major plot holes. I really enjoyed how the drama went back in time and then relapsed, then continued after Wei Wuxian's reappearance. I also really enjoyed the side plots, my favorite being the one with Xiao Xianchen, Jing, and Xue Yang. Although most Chinese dramas have a tendency to dissipate and have a terrible endings, I actually really enjoyed this ending. By the ending, the story was unique in that the typical villains were actually backed by other unsuspected characters which kept me hooked the whole time. This drama is one to watch the whole way through and not skip any parts.
One of my favorite things about this drama was the character development and character relationships. They were rich, exciting, and incited many different emotions for the characters. The villians weren't as fleshed out as, say, Ashes of Love, but I don't think that's a major pitfall for this drama because I enjoyed the other character growth. I
2. Production: There weren't any glaring problems with the set or greenscreen, and I liked how they used stunts and special effects in moderation. When they used greenscreens or digitally produced backgrounds, they did a very good job matching the lighting so that it wouldn't be horribly unsettling. I usually skip through asian drama fight scenes because of how repetitive they get, but for this drama I watched through each one because it was choreographed and executed beautifully, and also didn't over/underuse stunts and special effects.
3. The soundtrack: I love the original song for the characters, especially the main theme song. It fit in well with the storyline, and created a more dramatic mood when watching. The motives that were repeated alone or in the music helped bring a "togethernesS" to the whole screenplay
4. Acting: The actors are wonderful at portraying their given characters, and I didn't see one flaw or awkward moment. Sometimes the tears did look fake but that is a pitfall of most screencasted dramas. However, Xiao Zhan did a wonderful job portraying all of the aspects of Wei Wuxian, from carefree, confidant to dark and troubled. Wang Yibo did a wonderful job with the stony-faced Lan Wangji, and there were subtleties in each of his facial expressions that brought out the emotions of his character without going too overboard. Also, the fighting and stunts were flawless, as expected, since the two main actors are stage performers. I could feel their "stage presence" from the screen and it gave them a better quality of acting on the screen. The actors are all super good-looking too, which definitely helps. Xiao Zhan's smile is to die for.

The characters just didn't work for me

This drama is alright, and I sped through lots of it because it got kind of boring. I extremely hated how the imbalance of power was represented, as the QinQiu people seem to be so highly respected that they can ravage heaven whenever they want with no consequence (like when Bai Fengjiu stole the soul-searching lamp).
I love diliraba but I hated the Bai Fengjiu storyline with all my soul. The female character was so weak and immature that even though the ending of her storyline with the emporer was alright, everything else just set it off for me.
I also didn't like how miracles would happen and then characters would brush it off like nothing. God Zhi Yan seemed to be the overall healer and voice of reason, but not many recognized him as that, but instead the owner of the peach blossom forest and very powerful, detached immortal.
The SuSu story was so frustrating to me because of how weak Su Su was and how little YeHua did despite saying he "loved" her. The number of plot holes and how slowly the storyline was going, especially since I knew where it was headed, was increasingly agitating.
The only part about the character's acting I liked was the relationship between Si Yin, 9th disciple, and all the other disciples.
I felt like the relationship between Mo Yuan/Ye hua/Bai Qian was left too open. I also felt no chemistry between the two main actors so it was really awkward when I was trying to watch romantic or serious scenes. Lastly, I feel like Yang Mi and Mark Chao didn't protray their characters with enough dynamic and emotion to move the audience.

Unique K-drama worthy of binging.

I initially started watching with some bias because I don't like idols acting - they usually don't convey much emotion. However, I love Got7 so I was excited to watch it, and it was surprisingly good. The beginning had a great hook to keep me watching, and the length of the drama wasn't so dragged out that I would lose interest. The plot developed at a steady pace, not focusing too much on one scene.

The plot was the best part - it was unique, still brought in classic cliches without making me cringe, and had an air of suspense. This reminded me of sherlock, or the good Doctor, as in having supernatural capabilities that allow them to solve issues magically.

The two main actors, Park Jinyoung and Shin YeEun, were cute, had great chemistry, and did a decent job acting. I was touched at the part where Lee Ahn broke down in the apartment after finding out the truth - the emotions he showed was amazing.

The aspect that caught me off guard was the side-story of Kim Kwon and DaSom. Sungmo's emotional conflict was fittingly complex to give the story dimension that we don't usually see in K-dramas. I felt hurt with Jisoo, and concern for Sungmo knowing he cares about her but also has so much difficulty opening up and showing emotion. At the scene where Jisoo dies in Sungmo's arms, I was completely heartbroken and I also saw so much development in Sungmo's character by then.

Highly recommend this drama to anyone looking for a non-cliche detective/suspense drama that still has fluffy cute parts.

As a final note, why can't the main actors like actually kiss? I felt so uncomfortable watching that fake kiss (another reason why I dislike Idols acting)

The OST *praise emoji*

This show is a great one to get started on chinese dramas - it's simple, cute, well-produced, and involves a normal, college life and normal dating. There was a cliche love triangle, adorable main actors whose chemistry was very good, and the mean girls who spread rumors on campus.

In the end, my favorite part of this drama was the OST - I might be biased but I LOVE Silence Wang, and his style and voice just fit so perfectly with this drama. It felt so dreamy and beautiful along with the gorgeous set, production, and styling.
