A well told tale of star-crossed lovers

The story of the series was very good. It was part romance, part intrigue, and part mystery—all the things I love in a good story. The lead actresses in the series were amazing in their roles, and the actress who played Vi automatically made you fall in love with her and care about her well-being. Some twists and turns kept viewers on the edge of their seats until the end. That being said, this series made me think that there's still more left to discover in the novel. I hope will be a season 2 or an after story for this series because I want to know what happens next with these characters. On the whole, though, I very much enjoyed this series and can't wait to see the next story that Christine and Mae tackle next.

This is a very solid GL, but...

The show, on the whole, was very good. It is definitely in my top ten of 2024 list. The two leads (Namtam and Film) had really good chemistry and their acting was shown throughout. Namtam (the actress who played the twin sisters, Oom and Ai) should win many awards for her portrayal of twins. There were many times that I caught myself marveling at just how different the twins' personalities and mannerisms were right down to the way each twin talked. I was very impressed because from seeing other portrayals of twins by the same actor, many couldn't pull it off as wonderfully as Namtam did. Kudos to you Namtam. Film did a good job as the mysterious yet easily lovable May. I loved her duality as a hardened kickass lawyer and loveable, almost puppy-like lover. I would find it very hard not to fall for someone like May. Khapook (the actress who played Police Captain Phimphakorn Decha-anek "Pim") should get a lead in her own GL series.

The story was very good complete with twists and turns that I imagine non-readers of the novel didn't see coming. There were a few twists that I, as a book reader, didn't see coming. Ai having to navigate pretending to be her sister, while realizing that she's falling in love with May, her sister's ex-girlfriend. May knows that Ai isn't Oom, but wants to get to know Ai better, because she's May's first love. All the obstacles and ancillary drama of a friend's accident and May's reasons for being blind, all lent themselves to the complexity of the tale. Also, the side story of the budding romance between Jan, Pim...and Pang. For a second there, I thought viewers were going to get their first GL throuple in a series. It would have been something different.

The entire cast played their roles well, and though the production, editing, and music, on the whole, were good, my only issue with the series is their portrayal of Oom. I am all for character redemption when it is earned. Yet, the way the adapting writers tried to rewrite Oom as an ultimately redeemable and sympathetic character, though it may have been a better choice for the TV series, left a bad taste in my mouth as a book reader. It seemed like they wanted every character to be some shade of gray, but I felt that Oom should have no redemption. Even in the TV series, Oom mentioned that she broke up Ai and May to make herself feel better, so why would you try to redeem a character like this? In the novel, she was ultimately the reason why Paul died (with a bit of an assist from May), she tried to kill May, and she only broke up Ai and May so that May would suffer. Oom didn't care about her twin sister's feelings at all. Also, Oom knew about all the sacrifices that Ai made to make Oom's life better throughout their lives, and she still treated her sister like garbage (as it was portrayed in the TV series). That type of character shouldn't be redeemed. That type of character should be made to sit in their crapulence to accept the consequences of their actions. Though everything worked out for the best, Oom's redemption will always be a sore spot in what was ultimately a great watching experience.

I'd definitely recommend this GL series to anyone who likes a good story in their GL.
