I hate this trope so much goddamn

WhyWhyWhyWhy did they have to do this to me. I thought this drama was different with no love triangle, no weird misunderstandings every episode and no super dark and convoluted backstory (well it sorta did but super easily resolved). And then it hits me with the classic "I gotta break up with you to protect you but I wont tell you that and instead we will be sad for an episode or two cause reasons"- trope. I hate this trope so much it is so pointless. Like just communicate like adults cmon. It always feels so forced and like they are checking off steps on the drama checklist. Still prob one of my favourite shows but what an oof.
