So, Bo Jin Yan is criminal psychologist who solves difficult cases with help of his newly hired assistant, Jian Yao. At first like almost in every drama they concentrate on seperate cases. And like in most of crime dramas, there was something bigger in the background but I still say this is one of the most unique crime dramas ever.
Very professional, high-quality writing. Just as you have decided you have conclusion how a scene is going to end writers make a turn and will make you go like 'whaaaaaaat?!' I enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster of being surprised and not knowing what happens next. I'm sucker for good mystery/crime drama and this is the best I have watched for a long time! Ending episode threw me off the course and I was staring my computer screen mouth open :D
Leads had great chemistry and I enjoyed every awkward moment they had because of Jin Yan's serious character. I'm always drooling for handsome lone wolfs and it was adorable that IQ genius was struggling with romance.
Side roles were important and well written into plotline but I wish they would have had more depth into Zi Yu's character. He was the only side role I was excitedly waiting for to appear in every scene.
I liked how this drama didn't totally evolve to concentrate on romance element because most of dramas make that mistake. Instead they concentrated on Jin Yan's character and especially how he sees things inside his mind analysing criminal's mind.
Music was actually pretty good! I'm not a fan of chinese music, especially ballads but I fell in love with ending song~
So if you enjoy crime dramas with mysterious and exciting cases, adorable characters and little bit of romance, this is totally made for you!

I read from many places that this is kind of remake and ispired by korean drama 'you who came from the stars' even though this is really based on chinese novel series.
I admit, story sounds similar and female lead has similar traits with Cheong Song Yi's character but that's where the resemblance ends. And I'm actually glad that this was different from 'you who came from the stars'.
So we have self-confident actress Tian Jing Zhi (played by Wu Qian) who in the beginning is in distraught by getting dumbed by her childhood sweetheart boyfriend after proposing him. While venting her anger she gets into car crash and accidentally revives immortal Xue Ling Qiao (played by Kim Tae Hwan). Jing Zhi almost died but Ling Qiao with his abilities payed back the favor by healing her.
Ling Qiao, being lived in the earth for 500-something-years and being 'asleep' for 100 years he didn't know anyone and didn't have anywhere to go. The only person he could think of was Jing Zhi and thus he kind of forced himself as Jing Zhi's roommate.
This is where all the fun began, Jing Zhi being her bubbly and hyper self and Ling Qiao being serious and quiet.
I enjoyed the side characters Zhang Xuan Xuan (Shen Meng Shen), Li Yan Zhi (Fu Jia), Ye Chen (Xu Ke). I really wanted writers to concentrate on these characters more but I guess episode duration would have been too long. They were important to the story and all actors did great job representing them. This drama made me a fan of Xu Ke and I hope I will see him in more dramas in the future.
At first I felt in couple first episodes that plot isn't going anywhere. But those couple episodes was full of funny moments because Jing Zhi's character is kind of comical so I enjoyed it. Then plot started to take place soon and I was so into watching this. A little dissappointment was Kim Tae Hwan's performance, who as a novice actor didn't quite convey enough emotions for the viewer to feel it properly.
If you're awaiting some mind blowing romance from the start, you will be dissappointed. Scenes between Ling Qiao and Jing Zhi were sweet but romance evolved kind of slowly.
Main bad guy in this drama you can guess if you have good instinct and have watched this kind of dramas before. For me, I guessed who the bad guy was pretty quickly. But nevertheless, I was enjoying watching this. I felt like there weren't any extra character put there like an accessory but everyone had their own meaningful place in the story.
Only thing that was major disappointment for me was one plot turn happening in later episodes. All except that, I can say I am quite happy with 'My amazing boyfriend' and I hope they will make season 2!
Oh, and music was good too! I think I will go looking for OST ;) And I'm even interested to read My amazing boyfriend novel series if I ever find it translated it in english somewhere.
Overall; if you're a fan of fantasy and romance, this is definetly your drama.

But the story is great and male lead is eye candy (actually reminded me a bit of taiwanese actor Aaron Yan). Leads have great chemistry and side roles were enjoyable too.
The plot at first seems to be your typical bad rich girl turned good but because of the fantasy element in it, every episode was entertaining and I kept watching without getting bored. Well, in first like two episodes I was wondering if this is going anywhere but if you're going to start this lakorn, I advice you to watch at least the first five episodes. The story unwraps itself only in the last few episodes so it keeps you guessing all the time who is really the bad guy.
Overall, if you're looking for something different compared to usual lakorns, this is your drama.

But what I liked about this drama was that it was done kind of slice of life -style and main leads had good chemistry. At first when they presented Shan Shan's character I cringed because I though "oh no, again dumb lead who acts overly cute." But after couple episodes I was melted by Shan Shan's cuteness and positive attitude. The actress is really a pro. I'm afraid same can't be said from our male lead. Feng Teng is eye candy, but the actor couldn't quite convey the feelings of this character. Sure, Feng Teng has cold personality and he doesn't easily show emotions but when the actor needed to represent deeper emotions I felt something lacking. However a total plus is that he could act jealousness really well and I was laughing out loud at his cute silliness in various scenes.
Side roles were enjoyable too. I didn't like Li Shiu's character from when she arrived to the picture but she started growing on me and I found myself cheering for her in the end.
A definite plus is that main leads mostly dealt with everyday problems of a normal couple and there weren't any specific villains and overboard damsel in distress acting from Shan Shan.
And I liked ending and opening, they really convey the feeling of this drama which is warm and positive.
Overall, a great romance drama about old subject; poor girl falling in love with rich man. There wasn't any terrible cliche scenes and main leads romance was funny and sweet.

I've watched this kind of 'rich spoiled girl turned to good person' -dramas before so I was really curious how the story would go in this one. The beginning was promising; funny scenes and lots of chemistry between leads so I was enjoying watching it. But somewhere around episode 8 or 9 the whole story started to get really ridiculous. It felt like in every episode someone got into accident or into fight and was admitted to hospital. And this lakorn had like all the cliches a drama could ever have. So after halfway it started to get really heavy and hard to watch forward. The ending was totally ridiculous, "let's pair every character with someone".
So I'd say if you're not into very cliche romance stuff, don't watch this. I gave overall points up to 7.0 because the first episodes were really fun and entertaining. The ending half of this drama I would rate something like 4.0.

But why did I rate it 8.5 if I thought it was so phenomenal? Let me explain:
There was one part in the drama where writers made a mistake of falling into a very cliche plotline. It was like straight out from text book and I was so close hitting my computer screen because I was so frustrated with the character in question who created whole scene... Lucky for me it didn't last that long (thank god) because some dramas can drag quite a bit. Apart from that one problematic scene, I really really loved this drama.
So, story was that through some events Zhang Chen and Yu Xi end up working together, Yu Xi being a caretaker for blind Zhang Chen. At first they start off with wrong foot but eventually grow up close. This drama centers their relationship of how it becomes from work related to romantic. Zhang Chen has to deal with trauma related issues from losing his fiancee. Yu Xi also has her own troubles even though she seems to have cheerful easygoing character at first.
Main leads had great chemistry, like seriously! I was drawn into their story and I was always waiting for new scenes about them in it. If main leads won't have chemistry, all they do is make viewer cringe when they're doing something romantic. But in this drama I was doing 'wow's in my head because it really worked between these two leads. Usually I tend to have bad second lead syndrome but in this drama I fell so hard for the main couple that I almost skipped every second lead scenes xD Don't get me wrong, second leads did a very good job and were so cute together. But I thoroughly enjoyed watching main couple.
Other side roles were important too apart from main leads best friends (they had surprisingly few scenes). Zhang Chen's parents were funny, especially his step-father.
So my conclusion is that this is a must watch for every taiwanese romance drama fans. I'm definetly going to rewatch this sometime later.

This drama first starts by showing you countless of flashbacks to main characters teen years. After 3 or 4 episodes we finally get into present time and actual story starts from there. But when I was watching this I felt like writer couldn't decide whether go this way or that way and ended up choosing right in the middle, hence the mess. And it felt like there wasn't that much romance even though this belongs to romance drama genre. Relationships were explained or left in halfway and you don't really get to see main couple developing relationship deeper.
In story we also get lot of cliches like evil mom, crazy girlfriend/ex-girlfriend, accidents etc.
I'm not fan of Woobin, his looks are not my style and I don't like Suzy. I chose this drama because of synopsis which as I said before was not equivalent to story at all. But if I have to find something positive about either one of leads it would be Woobin's acting. I was surprised positively that his acting skills have matured alot and he plausibly plays his role.
Same cannot be said from Suzy, I felt she went too over even though her character was a little eccentric.
Only thing I could really enjoy in this drama was Noh Eul's brother, Noh Jik's scenes. Lee Seo Won is amazing new rookie actor who I'd keep my eye on after this. Even though he's a rookie, he gives great performance as Noh Eul's stiff little brother who doesn't really know how to act with people, especially with girls.
Even though I like Im Joo Hwan as an actor I didn't like his character here, Choi Ji Tae felt distant and writers didn't open his story almost at all. We saw him only as kind of sidelooker.
Other characters also were quite boring. Only character that brought a little bit energy to story was Noh Eul's best friend Go Na Ri (played by Kim Min Young). She was believable in her bestfriend role and could act caring, angry and sad scenes really well.
So I didn't like this drama but it's funny that it's OST is one of the best I have ever heard in korean dramas. I'm definetly going to get the OST.
Overall, if you don't like sad, depressing melodramas, skip this. You will just end up dropping this if you're waiting a smooth flowing romance story.

Then the other cast; I didn't like Lee Yu Bi's character Yang Sun. From the first episodes I thought Yang Sun is just too clingy and pretending to be brave but ending up crying her eyes out like every time. Can I say how much I hate heroines like that. I just don't understand what Sung Yeol and Lee Yoon saw in her. No offence to Lee Yu Bi, she's good actor but I just didn't like her character in this drama.
Lee Soo Hyuk. Well there's an eye candy~ I started this drama because of Lee Junki and ended up waiting Lee Soo Hyuk's scenes. I think he makes a perfect vampire badass with his low voice giving you chills even though I still think the whole vampire thing in this drama was presented ridiculously. I was surprised Gwi's one scene in the second last episode, where he's at his cavern. You will know what I mean if you watch this drama. I think that was the best scene in whole drama (darn I can't talk about it because it would spoil the whole fun). But yeah, Gwi's character was great yet somewhat annoying at times.
I think other side cast were quite irrelevant minus Choi family. The writers left too many unexplained things. Like what happened to Lee Yoon's mother? And his father after final episode's happenings? And I totally didn't understand the ending of this whole drama. What was that about?
So I think this was kind of messy with the story. It was a good storyline but telling it was messy and watcher couldn't often follow what was going on. And there was nothing new from Lee Junki so in the end I gave this drama 7.5.
Oh, and OST is nice. I actually downloaded couple songs because I found myself humming them :D They get into your head so beware :P

I watched this second time so it's time to write a review. I rarely rate any drama this high.If you are looking for a story that has action, humour, witty characters and of course, romance then you are going to love this. Now, I usually don't go for military themed dramas or in fact medical dramas either. I just hate to watch political scenes and "we have to explain this medical procedure with a 10-minute scene" kind of dramas so that's why I rarely start any drama with those themes even if it is highly recommended.
So why did I decided to start Descendants of the Sun? When it aired it popped up literally everywhere; in drama sites, discussions, forums etc. I was slowly getting interested because the hype was huge. What finally drew me to watch DotS was a scene where Kang Mo Yeon drives a car, gets into accident and makes calls babbling about how she feels towards everyone. I accidentally saw this scene when it was shown on a variety show and I was like well, that looked somewhat interesting. Next thing I knew, I was watching first episode of DotS.
Don't let first minutes fool you because this show is full of humour, funny moments and romance. Even if story deals with serious issues it takes a bit lighter approach to them than most of military/medical themed dramas. I was hooked after only one episode which happens veeeery rarely. It's difficult to get my attention in just one episode but DotS did it. It was mainly because main couple's chemistry was so good!
Characters are likeable and you can find at least one character you will cheer on. Our main leads are charismatic and shine like no other. There's instant attraction and I like that about drama instead of watching hours and hours of bickering before they slowly come to like each other.
Song Joong Ki does amazing job portraying Captain Yoo Si Jin; he is handsome but adorable at the same time and has pretty good sense of humour as well as he's responsible leader who does not fear to take action. Song Hye Kyo likewise does great job presenting Kang Mo Yeon, a headstrong doctor who is kind at heart.
I loved watching our main couple and their witty dialoque with each other. I have to say I didn't like Song Hye Kyo as an actor before and that was one of the main reasons I was relunctant to watch this drama. But man, I wish I had started this earlier. Now everytime I try to judge and skip a drama based on theme or actor/actress I tell myself "look what happened with Descendants of the sun. It ended up being your favorite drama ever."
Other side characters were important to story, there was no "extra" character filling up some plotline. This was propably one of the hardest dramas to pick which couple you like the best; main or secondary. I instantly took liking to Seo Dae Young and how he can make jokes with that poker face. He has cute serious personality (can I even say it like that :D ). Yoon Myung Ju shines beside Seo Dae Young, I think this is Kim Ji Won's best role so far portraying no nonsense, I get what I want kind of a woman.
From other actors, Onew did pretty amazing job too. Yet again I was surprised by an idol actor. Only thing I didn't like though that his character was too wimpy in one point :/
Ok, the bad guys. They were pointed out pretty much from the start and I think David McInnis was right choice to play the part of ex-soldier turned gangster. He had this dark moody look and when he smirked it just gives chills.
And minor bad guy Jin Yeong Soo played by Jo Jae Yun made me hate him so he did a good job.
Something I didn't like about this drama is hard to find. But if I specifically have to point something out then it's events in episode 15. Hard to explain without spoilers but let's say that writers did one pretty typical korean drama plot twist. Otherwise this drama was really unique, had equal amount of seriousness to it as funny moments and romance. I liked how whole drama was filmed in advance so no viewers or whatsoever could affect how story would progress.
Music was good, especially main theme song stays in your head after you watch episode or two :P
So overall I'd say that give this a chance even if you don't like military or medical dramas. If you for example loved City Hunter drama, I think DotS is kind of similar but even hundred times better. (just my opinion).

The story was those 'cool rich guy meets ordinary girl' -stuffs but writers put it out interestingly and I really enjoyed every episode and I was always looking forward what happens next. I think this was the first romance drama I have watched with only a tiny bit of melodrama so that's why I propably liked it so much. It didn't have those "ex-girlfriend suddenly arrives to the picture" or "male lead's evil mom harrassing half of drama's duration" -things. And I liked how the flow was very smooth. Usually in short dramas you'll see a slow start and ending is very rushed but this didn't feel like that. Of course, after some scenes I thought the two last episodes were a bit rushed but all in all, this was very well written. What's interesting that instead female lead being poor and doing part-time jobs, she's educated vet who actually owns her very own practice. By the way her cat was really cute >///<
Male lead was totally handsome and cool but I just loved how his personality was so silly when it came to how to express his feelings and when he was jealous. It was total contradiction. The actor Sung Hoon was a spot on choice for this role. He has really expressive face so I enjoyed looking his expressions and I was laughing at times because he was doing some silly things with that handsome face of his lol. It was just funny that when he tried to play cool he ended up being cute instead and I was often going "awww" during scenes.
Female lead Jaekyung was also a good choice for main role. I don't know if it's just me but at times she went overboard with acting but else I think she's a very good actress and can express emotions well. I thought with male lead they make a very good couple. You'll often see in these kind of dramas more "ordinary face" as main so I was happy they picked Jaekyung. Don't get me wrong, with ordinary I mean someone more cute type whereas Jaekyung is more glamorous type. Jaekyung's type often gets roles like the evil ex-girlfriend...
So if you're looking for some great romance drama but don't want to start those with very long episodes, check this out. You'll definetly want to rewatch this later also.
Oh, and music was also very warm and cozy and fitted the drama's atmosphere.

I think this drama is very underrated. It has that easygoing flow combined with funny and serious scenes that you can't help but to be drawn to watching it. I like the OST very much too, especially the song Hyorin sings, Hyorin's voice and feeling of the song fits this drama perfectly.
Overall, this is the best drama I've watched in a while. It rised up directly to my most favorite dramas of all time. If you want to be left with 'warm and cozy' feel and miss all the characters at the end, I recommend this.

The plot is kind of cliche but you should definetly watch this until the end. There were some moments I didn't predict at all and this is the only drama in my drama watching history that got 'WHOA NO WAY!! NO WAYNOWAYNOWAY!!' out of me in one point. (and I've watched soon about 200 dramas).
So try this at least couple episodes, it will get better. And what I liked about this drama is that there weren't that many 'changing to vampire and be a badass' -kind of scenes, the drama actually concentrated more to tell the story.

Firstly, I was happy that finally, finally they didn't make the heroine a brainless idiot who just drools over male lead. Even though at some things she was described as stupid but this drama made every scene look like real and not just "overacted drama" if you know what I mean... Male lead was eye candy and not as cold as in other versions of "itazurana kiss" so that was also a plus! I didn't really like how they made male lead's character especially in chinese version. Of course to fan of the story this remake might be a bit surprise or even a disappointment. But for me, it was enjoyable thoroughly.
Chemistry between main leads were great and from other roles I enjoyed King's the most. His character was sooo cute, I was feeling so sorry for him most of the time not getting the girl. I even ended up cheering TenTen and King both which has not happened when I watched Itazurana kiss or other remakes xD
But I have to say that I felt some roles, like Taliw's friends, were only written there as an accessory. I think writers should have given them a little more screentime to fit naturally into the plotline and giving it some depth.
Some scenes from "itazurana kiss" I missed and would have liked them to have in this drama but I think that maybe it would have been too much of a copy then?
I so hope they make season 2! I enjoyed this because it was original and different from other remakes, even though I knew the story I was surprised how they portrayed it and it made me guess what is going to happen from time to time. Really kept excitement going on :D Now it makes me wonder how they would continue it if they would make season 2~
Overall this is a cute, professionally made thai drama. You should watch this if you want a lakorn that makes you laugh and go awwwww~

That's about all that was good. After episode 4 or 5 it turned really typical korean drama. Like straight out of textbook. There was two love interest for female lead, after female lead got together with one of them it was push and pull all the time "let's be together, then break up but then be together again but then break up again". And of course male lead's ex-wife came to the picture, it brought more melodrama and so on.
So a very typical korean romance drama. If you're watching this because of Yunho I recommend to watch it, he really can act and he doesn't have those stiff moments at all what some idol actors tend to have.

The way this story is told will keep your interest on for sure. It starts when Xiao Nai (Yang Yang) sees Bei Wei Wei (Zheng Shuang) in internet cafe playing online game. It's kind of love at first sight and Xiao Nai decides to enter the game again just to pair up with Wei Wei and talk to her. Wei Wei is first surprised because Xiao Nai's online character hasn't been around for awhile and suddenly he wants to be a couple in the game with Wei Wei. But Wei Wei accepts because Xiao Nai's character is legendary. What's interesting is that actors actually act those parts when they play online game so they're kind of "inside" it.
Other players will talk badly of Wei Wei because she had just broken up a pairing with another character Shao Xiang (Zhang He) but Xiao Nai doesn't care and Wei Wei decides that she'll ignore bad mouthing about her.
Little by little Wei Wei and Xiao Nai gets closer by playing the game and conversing with each other. They start to like each other and decide to meet because of the game. From there starts a sweet romance that gets you squealing and smiling like an idiot to your computer screen.
I liked that even though Wei Wei is described as department beauty with good IQ she wasn't arrogant or anything. And she wasn't those weak girls either. She had strong and little bit sassy personality. Xiao Nai was handsome and quiet, kind of lone wolf even though he had his group of friends. But his personality started getting brighter when he met Wei Wei. I just loved watching these two together. And being romance drama fan, I loved how Xiao Nai knew what he was doing; he was caring, kind and protective of Wei Wei.
I love how they made this drama slice of life style. And romance was made slow paced so it felt like a real life, not like usual drama style where couple falls in love in just couple episodes. First dates between Wei Wei and Xiao Nai felt real too, they were awkward and cute because they didn't want to show each other their flaws.
Only thing I cringed at first is that when Xiao Nai kissed Wei Wei, she looked like a dead fish because she didn't react at all... but it got better later on.
Other thing I totally enjoyed and was a little bit disappointed that they didn't have that many scenes was KO and Hao Mei. There was a little bit of spark between these two and I would have loved to watch them develop a real relationship.
Only thing that annoyed me a bit in this drama was Wei Wei's best friend Er Xi (Mao Xiao Tong). I have seen my share of these kind of too energetic too cutesy characters. At times I felt like the actress went way too overboard with her expressions.
And I didn't like Cao Guang's character either, it felt like he didn't have his own brains at all because he kept believing everything everyone told him.
But otherwise this was amazing and all the time I was thinking "what, only 30 episodes? I don't want this to end" :D
Music was good but not exceptional. Very basic although they had couple funny background music tracks playing once in a while.
Pros:
+Sweet romance
+Main couple suit each other
+slice of life (I enjoy this genre)
+Xiao Nai's gang aka his friends
+KO and Hao Mei
+not overly dramatic in any scene
Cons:
-slice of life (for some people)
-romance is developing kind of slowly at first (again, I enjoyed but some people don't)
-annoying best friend character
Overall, a great romance drama without extra dramatics that I recommend every fan of romance genre to watch. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
