Both dramas are school/youth based setting with the male lead being rather stern/rude at times. The female leads are both strong (physically and mentally). And they both have some pretty outlandish events that occur with an overall lighthearted feeling mixed with some serious and heartwarming realities.

Both dramas have a strong horror/suspense element throughout with comedy and romance mixed in. The actors play a big role in making you want to keep watching (acting skills++). Lovely Horribly is currently holding together much better than My Secret Hotel (no offense!). The general feeling of eerie with a sprinkle of warmth and humor is similar in both dramas which is the main reason for this recommendation.

Both dramas have a strong sense of suspense, with big cliffhangers as the story progresses. Script writing/web-drama drawing plays a big role in what happens to the characters throughout the dramas--in ways that effect reality greatly.

Both dramas have a strong element of horror/suspense with comedy and romance wittingly weaved into the story. The use of bgm during moments of horror is similar. Hwang Sun Hee appears in both dramas

both are based off of mangas and give off similar feels when translated into live actions. Also, the general theme of a group of male students and one female student in high school

The story of female student(s) in a mostly male dominant field of study and how they come together and learn from each other in order to grow and be better

similar aspect of female lead getting to know/involved with a group of very popular male leads and the female lead consequently experiencing many firsts while becoming friends (and possibly more) with the male leads who in turn are also affected by the female lead.

Both shows are about high school teen-love and friendship. They both show the interconnected-ness of people.
Their main plots revolve around the struggle of everyday high school life for the characters.
The shows also follow a similar pace of events, with nothing occurring really that quickly or slowly--kind of the pace you would expect from a mellow/low-key high school drama.
There is also a slightly nostalgic feel to both of them.
