My best friend is Vietnamese; and upon finishing Uni, after getting back from travels around Europe and Britain I was looking for something new in my life - it was then that she properly introduced me to Korean dramas. She had talked about them through High School, yes, but she only showed me snippets of her favourite parts with her favourite actors so that I could watch her fangirl and squeal over them. I didn't get it then. But this time she gave me a few episodes of Flower Boy Ramen Shop, telling me just to "try it out". Well After the first couple of episodes I was hooked. She'd only given me about 5 and I stayed up all night watching them, ignoring everything else in my life. I begged her for the rest. I'd fallen in love with the characters, the crazy over-the-top drama took some getting used to (Cha Chi Soo sparkling at the start?.... like sparkling?? Literally sparkling 0.o) But it was a halarious show, I couldn't believe I didn't know about it -- Well how could I discover that on my own? They don't show these things on Australian television. Anyway! That's how I got into dramas. I fell in love with Jung Il Woo as Cha Chi Soo and immediately snatched up everything else he starred in. When I'd exhausted his acting career and nothing new was coming out I had to branch out. So then came Lie To Me, and You're Beautiful. You're Beautiful offered me my current love of my life (aside my boyfriend) - Jung Yong Hwa! Though I can love him and watch others now, and although also exhausting HIS acting career and patiently awaiting some new additions, I've got his awesome music career to follow too. Hence the introduction to K-pop or K-rock! Another new interest! Not to mention the cool OSTs that are discovered through drama watching. Anyhoo, lets bring this rant to a close. I now have many favourite actors and many favourite dramas and although my family think I'm a little bit nuts for getting into something so random.... I'll finish with saying Korean Dramas (and movies too, oh and music haha... and fashion... and food.... 0.o) rocks like roll man, it all rocks like roll!!! Peace out xo
