I finished the anime way back in 2021, read the novel in 2022, and finally gave The Untamed Drama a try this year. I was so glad I did! I cried a bucket after I finished. Perfection at its finest! The STORY had a way of pulling people's interest. It was a great mix of mystery, action, bromance, and comedy. They have these lessons or sayings that could pique your realizations about life in general.
And the ACTORS- I'm speechless. They nailed acting their characters really well. Special mention to the ones who played WWX (his change when his core was transferred and had to resort to his own cultivation was really apparent, seriously, amazing amazing actor!), LWJ (it's the soft expressions that got me all gooey <3), and Meng Yao (he really made me hate the character even stronger xD).
The MUSIC also got me hooked more. To the point, I had to play Wu Ji on the piano. Their OSTs are living rent-free on my mind, and I have no complaints.
I'll definitely rewatch this gem. Thank you for bringing these characters to life!

This is the 2nd drama I've reviewed. Unique story with great actors. So pleasing to watch seriously. Although at first, it can be toxic for some people. But past that part, their realizations and when they cleared up their misunderstandings, it was all fluffy and gooey. Good thing they also added the side characters' story interesting. Haven't read the book or anything so I can't really compare, but the drama itself was worth to watch ✨️ PS: music and cinematic was superb ? likee, damn! This is seriously a must-watch drama!
This is seriously a must-watch movie!STORY was a bit rushed. It was not a surprise there since the Original Drama has 50 episodes. It's amazing how they were able to cut it down to just 20! But still, the timeline here was more organized. It helped me understand some confusing parts of the Original Drama. Although, I couldn't say this Special Edition is focusing mainly on WWX and LWJ. Because they still edited some scenes that (for me) were really important in their (WWX & LWJ's) character development and scenes that made them grow closer to each other.
ACTING/CAST was superb! I couldn't get over how each actor played their roles. You can seriously see the difference between Xiao Zhan's acting before his golden core was transferred and after it was transferred. The shift gave me goosebumps! Wang Yibo's subtle acting is highly commendable as well. His eyes are so expressive. Totally fits LWJ's aura XD
MUSIC. Period. I don't have anything more to say. Chef's kiss! Wu Ji is on repeat in my mind. Help me. XD
I am definitely rewatching this. But I'm on the fence about whether to rewatch the Original Drama or this Special Edition. I'm spending hours on YT watching behind-the-scenes clips of The Untamed. Finished the anime and novel already. Now, I'm reading the manhua. I guess it'll be a never-ending cycle after getting hooked on this gem!
