Bullies Get What they Deserve

This episode mentions new skills & how they are supposed to use them in fights. It would still be a world building episode. Tang San is told that his power is useless & that the teacher is unable to help him progress any further. That is when he decides to go to the "Master" & ask him for his help since he is the only one that said he could help him in this endeavor. He starts to learn what ways he could progress with how the "master" teaches him. I loved the way they portrayed the beast spirits in the back of the person - they looked absolutely great. The progression of his powers also made sense since his power is deemed "weak" so of course he won't go from 0 to 100 over night. Now going to the bullies - of course they must make trouble. But they got what they deserved when they tried to pull a prank on Tang San lol. I did love the little "what if" scene that that one of the bullies was dreaming up - it was really funny. However, at the end they were the ones that got the brunt of the prank - totally deserved. Xiao Zhan's delivery of his lines for Tang San are soo good. I especially loved it when he stepping in between the bully & Xiao Wu. He gave his lines a lot of attitude which made me get really excited because it showed he had confidence in his abilities to take them on.

Backstory

They did an absolutely great job depicting the backstory of Tang San. It wasn't overly exaggerated and expanded into a huge plot story but instead clear & to the point. They told you about the world in small details to get you interested but not enough that you would know everything all at once. I also think the way they showed time passing was excellent, they didn't tell you directly but instead just showed the seasons passing. Clearly they wanted to shy away from stating Tang San's age but also wanted to show that time did pass throughout the episode - just never stated how much time exactly. The CGI & camera work was absolutely phenomenal as well - you can totally see that they spent time & effort in it.

Master is Always Right!!

The relationship between Tang San & his Master is absolutely the best. And the way the Master is always helping out just shows that he cares about the progress of his student. Xiao Wu really needs to butt out though - she got on my last nerves whenever she would get in between the Master & Tang San's relationship. I loved the CGI snake - it looked so epic! Xiao Zhan did an absolute great job acting as Tang San. Especially when he was being electrocuted - it looked so realistic. You see the BTS & realize that there is nothing he is holding on to which makes the scene even better.

Luo San Pao

Okay #1 I honestly hate the bully - like how dare he kill that innocent spirit beast in the cage. Like come on man! I really liked this episode because we got to see more of the world building & I really liked the Master's spirit beast - LUO SAN PAO. Just for that little cute creature this episode gets a 10/10. He is so smart & so useful. I liked the way they explained things in such a clear way - I was able to understand the ring concept & how spirit beasts work as well. I think it is very friendly to people who haven't watched/read the original workThe CGI is really good - you can definitely notice it with how great the spirit beasts look.

HIlarious

Tang San moves out & goes to school. In this episode, there are several new characters introduced, however, I think only 2 of them are really important to the main plot line. However, there does seem to be a mini "bad guy/bully" that is of course a complete jerk. I thought it was absolutely hilarious the banter Tang San had with the bully - it seemed to be very smooth & not forced into the plot. Honestly there were a lot of scenes that just had me laughing. The introduction of the Master was also interesting - thought the actor did a really good job so far. I also loved the blacksmithing scene - it looked absolutely amazing. Especially the way they filmed the scene with the fire crackling in the same frame. Episode 2 would definitely still be a part of world building - so not much of the actual story is revealed but still a great entertaining episode that as its own appeal to it. Cinematography is just *chefs kiss*.
