Happiness For Happiness Sake
Took me a little while to binge this after this series finished airing. I think it’s because I had OD on Thai BLs for a little while now. Especially the saccharine school BLs that GMMTV puts out. I needed a BL rinse before getting into another school BL. This Korean BL was just the right binge.First off I adored Cha Yeon Woon for being the prickly ML. He reminds me of Milk from Choco Milk Sahke. I really like these kind of characters. He’s not the typical prickly type of ML that have walls that are too high to climb over like Nueng in Never Let Me Go or Kawi in Be My Favorite. He’s adorable in the cutest way. I love how he initiates the first kiss and gives the first confession despite his shyness.
Then there is Tae Myung Ha as the MC being the grouchy uncle persona as the senior of the group of friends. He’s so clueless for the 29 year old in a 19 year old body. This dude is clueless about love and happiness despite being thr adult who view everyone as a kid. He’s the biggest kid mentally for not understanding his actions towards Cha Yeon Woon. It is really Cha Yeon Cha who teaches him about life and how to enjoy it.
Cheon Sang Won and Ahn Khung Hoon are the side couple which I liked. For KBLs, I really do not need side couples taking away from the focus of the main couple. Especially when there’s 8 short episodes. Even if this series has longer episodes than most KBLs. It is still short. I am mixed about Cheon Sang Won because he comes off too strong to Tae Myung Ha is pursing him even after he got rejected. It’s also ridiculous that he would let himself get beaten up so he can get Tae Myung Ha attention for being gay after TMH kissed Junho. But then he befriends cha Yeon Woon even if he is his love rival. Ahn Khung Hoon seems like a filler character to the sister who help TMH gets work and build a fanbase for CYW.
This series reminds me of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. The goal, the timeline, the penalty and even the secondary goals. The author of this manga must have drawn inspiration from ORV.
The plot twist ending is interesting. I wish I didn’t read the spoiler for the ending so I could’ve enjoyed it more. So I am not going to give the spoiler to the ending here.
Definitely worth the binge.

Another opportunity to waste Ohm Pawat’s talent.
If Ohm Pawat wasn’t in this I would’ve bailed. I really think GMMTV series there aren’t any really good series that’s worthy of Ohm’s talent because their roster of young actors in these kind of series aren’t up to his level as an actor. To date, Double Savage with Perth and Forei is his only non BL that is worth nothing.ISTG, I don’t know how Phuwin keeps getting the roles he gets because he’s so miscast. As a former PondPhuwin shipper, I cannot watch Phuwin in anything non BL. This is only because Pond is doing all the heavy lifting to keep that ship sailing. Every time he comes on screen, I cringe at his performance. The only part he did well was when in episode 1w when he gave his bully the finger. But this is how I see a Phuwin in everyday life from how he is with Gemini and other friend he hangs out. Something about Phuwin’s acting for the most part looks like acting instead of being in character,
Anyway, the serie had potential. While I might have wanted Joong in a series with Phuwin but I don’t mind Satang recast in the series instead. He has potential.. plus the fact that he can sing helps with the role. I think he fits the role of Prem better than Joong.
As for Piploy as May, the performance was good. She played a flawed character to some degree of believability. However, Film always comes up short in acting. She seems to give the same kind of performance. Im. It sure if it’s because she plays the same kind of character or it just not good acting. It’s bland and boring at this point.
The other actor who gave a decent performance was Kay as Mac. Like that’s acting to be and being in character.
I think Thor as Top gave a decent performance. Kul’s brother, Kong’s brother and sister, Pali’s sister, Tam’s grandmother/ father, and everyone else did their job.
My biggest issue is the lack of a cohesive flow in the storyline. It’s jumbled and try ending was a hot messy rush job. This might be the series that makes me stop watching Phuwin all together if it isn’t a BL.

Better Than Heroin
Stay with Me" is a remake of "Addicted: Heroin." I haven't watched "Addicted: Heroin" yet, as it was unfinished. However, this version did not have any of the toxicity of that series. This series had the same feel as the earlier HIStory series 1-2, especially "Make Our Days Count." GMMTV could learn a lot from this series. The story centers around Su Yu, an intelligent high school student who lives a hard life with poor his father. He resents his mother for remarrying a wealthy man and refuses to acknowledge her new family or accept any of her help. Su Yu has a stepbrother he has never met. Unbeknownst to anyone, his stepbrother, Wu Bi, unknowingly transfers into his class as an act of rebellion against his stepfather. They did not get along when they first met. From the outside, it looks like Wu Bi is a spoiled brat and an underachiever who is a disappointment to his father. Through a random coincidence, Su Yu’s father befriends Wu Bi and introduces them. Despite their initial differences, Su Yu and Wu Bi gradually warm up to each other. They become friends as they get to know each other and form a special bond. However, when a heated fight arises, their true identities are revealed. They overcome each new obstacle, unforeseen discovery, and misunderstanding to form a special relationship.
I am glad that I binge-watched this instead of waiting week after week for each episode to come out. I would have either put this series on hold or dropped it if I had watched it weekly. The first two episodes were slow, and to be honest, I fast-forwarded a lot through them. After episode three, we see the story develop between Wu Bi and Su Yu.
This series was very well-paced. It had so many heartwarming moments. I've laughed and cried in equal measure during this series.
Since this is a series from China with its censorship, it delves more into the dynamics of Su Yu and Wu Bi’s relationship without showing you anything remotely close to explicit scenes, but you still understand they had a sexual relationship.
I love that the first part was about laying out the messy lives of both Su Yu and Wu Bi. The second part shows how Wu Bi becomes a member of Su Yu’s family. The third part is about how Su Yu works on resolving their messy family situations and giving Wu Bi his peace. The last part sets up Wu Bi’s family, especially Mo Yi, for season 2.
Every character was well-developed. This includes our leads, Wu Bi and Su Yu, their parents, Aunt Zhao, Duo, the classmates, the would-be girlfriend of Su Yu, and Wu Bi’s uncle and cousin.
I might be in the minority, but I liked the ending as it is the ultimate cliffhanger for a season 2.

Great For a One-Off OhmNanon Series
I’m glad this is a one-off ship of OhmNanon. Fight me on this but I think Nanon ruined Ohm for BL. For Nanon, this was just a stepping stone for him to get more straight roles as exhibited by his work that followed. He has said that he only took this role to add BL to his repertoire. Following this, some said Ohm said he will not longer do any more BL. I hope this isn’t true now that they are on the outs and Ohm has been hanging out with a lot of the BL boys of GMMTV lately with the LOL Fanfest. I mean, if Pond wasn’t in Dirty Laundry, I would’ve not watch Nanon’s lead role series. It speaks volume of Nanon as an actor when he does this kind of series and Ohm went to do 10 Ticket and Double Savage. I know Nanon is one of GMMTV favorite but I don’t get it. Ohm is a vastly superior actor. Nanon should stick to singing as it seems to be his thing. As a BL fan, I must say that Thai school BLs have never been my cup of tea, often seeming to target schoolgirls and childlike adults with their magical rainbows and unicorns. However, I was pleasantly surprised with "Bad Buddy" as it veered away from the typical high school setting and took place in a university. It presented a compelling Romeo and Juliet-esque tale of star-crossed lovers from rival families.
From a young age, Pran and Pat's families had an intense rivalry, competing in every aspect of life. Naturally, this rivalry extended to their sons, making them rivals as well. But as fate would have it, despite the familial animosity, they grew tired of the constant tension and eventually became close friends. Their friendship blossomed, but due to their families' feud, they had to keep it a secret. After parting ways during high school, fate reunites them when they enter the same university and end up living in the same dorm with rooms across from each other. As they reignited their friendship, they discovered there was more to their feelings this time around. The series beautifully portrays their journey of self-discovery and first love, while navigating the challenges posed not only by their parents' rivalry but also by the rivalry between their university faculties.
The development of their relationship was far from glossed-over magic, as we often see in Thai school BLs. Instead, "Bad Buddy" took the time to build a genuine connection between the characters. As the story unfolds, they unearth the real reasons behind the family feud and face parental opposition to their relationship. In a bold move, Pat and Pran decide to run away together to explore their feelings. It is during their time away that they truly fall in love and solidify their relationship. Upon returning home, they face the consequences of their actions and work to gain acceptance with their families with the support of their friends.
"Bad Buddy" offered a unique and refreshing storyline, which sets it apart from many Thai school BLs that often portray the magical instant attraction between two boys without much development. It truly delivered on the emotional journey and didn't rely on clichéd tropes. This series has become a personal favorite of mine, as it demonstrates that BL can be much more than just fluffy romance, but rather a compelling and heartwarming tale of growth and love.

Taiwan Could’ve Made This Better
This gay drama from China was quite disappointing, especially for those who had read the novel. The story remained unchanged, revolving around a rich son being groomed by a company man chosen by his father to fulfill his role as heir to a conglomerate. However, as expected with Chinese gay dramas, it was watered down to a mere bromance, lacking the depth and romance of the original source material. On a positive note, the acting and cinematography were commendable, but like many fans of the novel, I longed for the authentic romance that was missing. I didn't require explicit scenes for it to be a good gay drama; instead, I wished for the essence of the original story to be preserved.
Although I liked the series to some extent, I couldn't help but imagine how exceptional it could have been if produced in Taiwan during the time of the HIStory series. Regrettably, it fell short of greatness, leaving me feeling somewhat unsatisfied.

The OG couple of BL is this
Back in a time when BL series showcased the discovery of love between two boys, "Together with Me" stands out as a perfect example, thanks to MaxTul's unmatched chemistry and great acting, making them true OGs of BL.The series started off with a powerful bang. While some fans believe newer BL series like KinnPorsche and Love in the Air brought sexiness, it's the older BL fans who appreciate the essence of pure love and smexiness in this series.
The show includes familiar tropes like female characters and toxic relationships, but it also introduces positive elements like Yahweh's character. One of my favorite tropes, "friends to lovers," adds depth to the story. However, there are some disturbingly inappropriate relationships in the series. And the weirdly homophobic sister. Despite that, the series addresses various issues much better than the glossed-over nonsensical BLs we often see today.
If you seek a meaningful BL series without fluffy nonsense, this is the one to watch. There's also a semi-prequel called "Bad Romance" and a sequel titled "Together With Me: The Next Chapter," which delve into their adult lives after graduation. It's a more realistic portrayal of boys love compared to "What Our Skyy 2: My School President," which failed to capture the essence of true BL.

Off the OffGun ship
I really want to support OffGun but I can’t. I have watched Theory of Love and Not Me. Usually the reviews and comment section are a pretty good gauge of whether I’ll watch an old series or not. I had watched Not Me and based on the reviews , I went and watched Theory of Love. Those were both good OffGun series.I have watched 10 Years Ticket for Ohm and Off as someone who isn’t just a Bl fan but a fan of good actors in BLs unlike a lot of these crazy ass BL fvck fans who will only watch BLs and go into the comment sections to ask if it’s a BL or not before they’ll watch a series. You know fake delulu fans of ships who live breathe and worship at whatever temple of shipwork is delivering fake queer shit. Like JoongDunk, ZeeNuew and the like. The same kind of dipshit fans who will go protest OhmLeng because they are OhmNanon shipper and not fans of the actual actors. Fake fvck fans.
I have been waiting for this series to end to start since I could not get past the first episode to see if it got any better. Sadly, from the comment section and reviews, it seems like this is just a series for the shipper fans. The amount of people who said they only watched it for OffgGun and little else with the criticism of this being a shitty show is going to help me not waste my time with a shitty GMMTV series which solely relies on shipwork to sell the series. I cannot support good actors being put in a shitty series whether hit is a BL or not. Such a waste of talent. I don’t want to give GMMTV any idea that they can put out shit shows like Hidden Agenda and now this and think fans will put up with anything as long it has our favorites. I don’t care if I am in the minority who hates it when. GMMTV set such a low bar for fvck fans with this drivel. I didn’t like 2gether despite its popularity and I sure as hell don’t want OffGun to be labeled shitty actors by being associated with shitty shows. We as fans need to set the bar higher and not defend the indefensible just because we like a ship and the shipwork. Delivering grade A ship work like JoongDunk while giving us a total shit show with Hidden Agenda isn’t where I want BL to be.
Also, ruining the track record of talent actors like OffGun with this kind of dumb series isn’t where BL needs to be headed too. I need GMMTV to do better because I expect better.
Maybe the series deserves a higher rating but since it failed to get me interested despite wanting to watch it. I can’t give it a higher rating. This is a message to GMMTV and not about OffGun. It’s also a message to crap series won’t be tolerated.

Disappointing
Since the announcement of this series, I knew I was up for disappointment. In this regard We Are did not disappoint me. As a former PondPhuwin fan after watching Never Let Me Go and then Fish Upon the Sky, this series was a huge step back from where I expected this ship to go. I really thought Ponf and Phuwin’s partnership would graduate to something of more substance. But leave it to GMMTV to come out and say they serve a Gen Z audience of schoolgirls in their 2024 lineup announcements. It’s been my stance that I know Phuwin cannot act and he relies on acting tricks they teach in remedial acting classes. As someone who has taking acting classes I can see all the tricks he uses which a lot of people can spot as poor acting as it has an unnatural cadence about it. I also know Pond isn’t a good actor because he’s inexperienced but he shows promise of being better with more challenging roles. So to be part of this series was a huge let down for not only me but many others who like the PondPhuwin pairing.
First off this was four separate novels combined into one series. This is already a bad formula if Between Us with four couples have shown us. Even with two coupe like Love In The Air, people were already made when two stories were made into one series. This four couple premise is already off to a bad start.
Second, after Never Me Go, this seems like a punishment to regress PondPhuwin back into another school BL when they have graduated from Fish Upon The Sky and went onto Never Let Me Go. Which is about school kids but in an adult setting away from school. Now to send them back to school seems like GMMTV is telling us Pond and Phuwin do not deserve to become adults they are kids so let’s treat the, as such.
Third, how can you put four couple and make this PondPhuwin series seem like a vehicle to promote WinnySatang into lead roles since their success with My School President. It’s giving me nothing but let’s put a secondary side couple in another star couple vehicle and let them build more of a following. You know much like how fans have been asking secondary couple to prove their acting chops off the backs of a more established couple to prove they have star power to be an official couple in a series. WinnySatang is this couple. They are going to make this series their launch pad to spring into a star making vehicle for themselves. If you factor in AuBoom into the equation, you can see this series was a bad move for PondPhuwin to be in. They are definitely going to be overshadowed with equally talented or better actors. The only ones who won’t eclipse PondPhuwin are MarcPoon since they are a new ship dies to the Pawin scandal. But this is the only thing that isn’t going yo steal their thunder.
I know going into this series Phuwin was going to annoy me with his acting. Sure enough it did. He is the epitome of a himbo actor. He is solely relying on his looks to save him on his cringey AF acting. If I have to see him be a total bitch in another role to Pond’s character I’m going to want to punch his RBF. Like how can someone who like like such a bitch all the time with that smirk and side eyes have any friends. Everyone of his characters seems to have a chip on his shoulder while thinking he’s a nice guy deserving the world. This includes his characters in straight series like Wednesday’s Club.
I hate to say it but if Pond needs to play another besotted character who falls for Phuwin’s character I’m going to gag. Must all of his characters be whipped for Phuwin’s characters within 2 episodes. Can we have a Phuwin character really be an errand boy for Pond’s for once and try to get Pond’s character to fall for him or is that not within Phuwin’s acting abilities since he seems like a high maintenance piece of work.
I honestly don’t care for the WinnySatung characters because it’s just another reiteration of PondPhuwins characters. Now we get to AuBoom. I adore Au since Be My Favorite so I know he can act the pants off me. And Boom casted as Pond’s brother. This is too much visual eye candy for me. I like Boom with Au. They are stealing this series for me and I don’t mind.
I’ve always dislike Marc because he’s a bad actor. I don’t know Poon but I hated Pawin for some reason. He always gives me creepy vibes and it can because of his character from Never Let Me Go.
Two episode in and I have to pause on this because so far it is disappointing me in exactly the way expected. As much as I want to support Pond and AuBoom. I cannot take the week by week torture of watching Phuwin making my skin crawl with his cringey acting.
I will wait until this series ends to read the reviews to see if it is worth my time to come back and support Pond and AuBoom.
If your like fluffy shit with rainbows and unicorns then this school series is right up yor alley. Enjoy.
Edit: I had to drop the series after episode 11 because despite the kissing and sex scenes, the series was just too juvenile for me. This series felt like two series mashed into one. Pond, Besevboom, Title, Pepper and Tee are playing in a more mature school BL while JJ, Winny, Satang, Phuwin, Aou, Marc and Poon are playing in a way beyond silly and juvenile grade school BL. The kissing and sex scenes felt pointless and gratuitous at this point. What happened to the plot? Was there one that was seen through instead of being forgotten time and time again? I have never skipped over so many scenes before because I didn’t care for them. There are way too many couples. What was the point of Fai except to just add a female character to not make it a sausage feast. This series left me so disappointed that Pond and phuwin picked this after Never Let Me Go. I really hate New directed BLs after this.
