Light-hearted with a unique storyline
I enjoyed this drama for several reason. It’s light-hearted and never takes itself too seriously. The casting was excellent in that each of the main actors seemed comfortable within their roles. The production company spared no expense on a quality musical score and scene sets. The premise of the plot was interesting and unique, including a main character who is actually a dragon in his real identity. Shout-out to Kobe Liu for his excellent job playing a character that required a balance between comedic and serious acting. He was genuinely believable in his role as the crown prince Li Ji. This cdrama was recommended to me as a must see and I wasn’t disappointed.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Mediocre drama series saved only by a great soundtrack
Could not connect with the at times difficult-to- follow plot line of Dream Garden. It started out kind of cool with the whole concept of hypnosis, waking up a person’s inner sub-conscious mind to resolve deep seated conflicts in their lives. However, half way through the series, I had difficulty connecting with the characters and lost interest in seeing their individual life conflicts resolved, I truly feel bad for Simon Gong, because he seems like a decent actor and deserves more. Could not wait for the series to end and basically kept it on for background entertainment. I would not recommend watching this drama for the reasons stated above. However the OST is memorable and imo the best thing about the entire drama series.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Superb acting and beautifully filmed
This was my first cdrama I ever watched and I am so glad because afterwards I was definitely hooked. An incredible story that has you on the edge of your seat throughout. Stellar acting performances by Yang Mi and Mark Chao, showing what truly superb actors they truly are. Visually stunning with amazing special effects. The only thing I can find wrong with this series is the character and performance by Dilraba Dilmurat as Bai Feng Jiu. How this character got her own spin-off series is beyond me? Although I’ve watched numerous cdramas since then, Eternal Love will always be my favorite.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Visually stunning with some great performances
Dragged on a little too long. However memorable performances by Allen Deng as Xu Feng the Phoenix and Leo Luo as Run Yu the Night Immortal . Leo Luo really should win an award for his incredible performance. He was very convincing in his heartbreak and sadness not winning the affections of the flower princess. Yukee Chen is always a favorite of mine. She is good in anything she does. The costume designs should also win awards. This cdrama is visually stunning in its special effects. I could have done without the Carrot Fairy. He was completely irritating. .Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
All great performances except one
I would love to have given this series a much higher rating but Shen Yue’s acting quite frankly ruined it for me. All the other actors were great, giving excellent performances but Shen Yue was uninspiring. Dylan Wang gave this cdrama credence with his heartfelt performance as a sort of Shakespeare’s Romeo as Dao Ming Si. But for all the effort he put into his character the opposite seemed true for Shen Yue’s performance as Dong Shan Cai. Even the ordinary girl she portrayed could have at least been played by someone a little less annoying who would never let her guard down even for a moment. It was exhausting watching her refusal to bend and begs the question, if the main character doesn’t really care why should we? Wanted to also make an honorable mention of the performances by Darren Chen and Caesar Wu who also added a sense of believability to their characters as members of the F4 group.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Over-rated cdrama with some A-list actors
Silly plot line with a disappointing ending, saved only by the memorable performances by Xu Kai Cheng and Vardy Wang. Yang Chao Yue’s acting comes across rather wooden as Feng Wu, like she was detached from the whole romantic affair with Jun Lin Yuan. On the other hand, Xu Kai Cheng gives us another strong performance as Jun Lin Yuan . He never fails to impress us as a great actor who can display his talent as both a comedic and serious actor as well. Furthermore, Vardy Wang woos our hearts once again with his heartfelt performance as the demon lord’s son Yu Ming Ye.Honorable mention is Feng Ming Jing‘s performance as the Shadow Assassin. Coming from the high-profile cdrama The Untamed, he showed what great acting skills he has, as the two characters he portrayed in each drama were very different
