Love, Rain and a whole bunch of problems...
One of those sad stories... boy meets girl... girl meets boy... boy becomes best friends with other boy who wants to meet girl... two of the three fall in love with each other but... well the two that do are from different socioeconomic backgrounds. People get beaten up. a war breaks out... there is a lot of drama, some we have seen before some slightly new twists and some pretty odd twists of fate that do not make much sense but sure we can go with it...A bunch of years later... Girl meets boy, girls best friend meets boy too ,girls best friend thinks boy is in love with her... boy is obviously not... oh what a hassle in deed... in what ways history may or may not have repeated itself is what you get to find out if you watch the movie.
The chemistry is decent, the acting too, the. scenery is lovely and there are some pretty great umbrella scenes including the magical yellow umbrella, "forgetting" to bring an umbrella and the getting sick from getting caught in the rain I am a sucker for... And if you are lucky you ay just see a rainbow by the end of the movie...

A deep, dark pool of fun and death
This was something different a short series, with what I assume a not so big budget (or all the budget went to the castI, low quality production but indeed very artistic and an interesting story that had me thinking, more than once... To be honest it was first when I saw the behind the scenes that I decided to give this a 9 instead of an 8.What I like, the complexity of the story they managed to fit in, in such a short span of time. I also liked the OST the contrast between the really pretty cinematography and good visuals set up against the cheep low budget apartment look. I enjoyed most of the acting, Gameplay and Jeff are indeed very charming and fun to watch. There was quite a bit of charm and heart fluttering moments in this otherwise very dark, dark setting. Being a fan of the dark I guess this was up my dark, dark ally...
The humour is mostly cheep but in a good way... as they do joke about sausages while frying sausages...
I do think they could have built even more on this story, but it worked as it was as well.
All in all definitely a show I recommend if you want to feel both entertained and find yourself analysing details and meaning after finishing a show.

So bad it is still bad but made me smile
There are those movies that are so bad they are good, this is however not one of them as it is more or less just bad but it will make you feel good in the end (not only for finally ending). The 1st lead's acting is awful and he looked like he had pooped his pants most of the movie (that or was about to), his character lacks in most ways including ability to control his impulses, and even though he does have some character development he truly needs a lesson or 10 in consent.
The other guy was sweet and kind and confused.. he did not seem to have pooped his pants but could use an acting lesson or two as well.
The side character where kind of bland, the cinematography too...
Watch it don't watch it honestly it doesn't really matter

The Soju that opened the shell...
This short film is truly just like a pistachio,Small- Short
Hard at first: Shell
But once the shell is opened you find a delicious (hard) nut... At first I wanted to say that it the inside is more of a softie but actually it is pretty straight forward so I guess Pistachio it is...
The Main characters do a pretty good job with the little they have, the side characters could use some more acting classes. But overall this was an enjoyable short film, not very deep but it is sweet and I guess also a bit encouraging as well.
It may also be a Soju commercial, as the soju seems to be the perfect way to crack open a pistachio. But hey doesn't everybody need some soju to break thrue their shell?

1 Litre No Namida spinoff?
It is very natural to compare this to 1 Litre No Namida same illness, young person , hiding of illness, umbrella scenes and hey there is even a Shiba among the cast. However those years between 15 and 22 as well as years of research between the 1980s and 2010s do make a whole world of difference in setting the tone as well as the opportunities and obstacles these two faced making this just like the title suggests a little bit less about tears and more about time, In a way the drama is a bit like a spin off there with a bunch of answers for the what ifs for Aya... But do not worry there are plenty of emotional scenes there to make you (me) cry. What I love about this drama is (most of) the friendships, the broken families, the starting point being an utter mess with or without an outspoken disability and the whole journey the characters in this drama take in to figuring out how and with who they want to spend their lives. I do like how they show the importance of finding goals as well as adapting to change, both within or without the workforce, but was bothered by the inspirational mumbo jumbo that followed even if it was not as bad as many other inspirational mumbo jumbo dramas this would have become a solid 10 if they could just have avoided it.
The drama does show a good range of emotions in dealing with a progressive illness that is taking away ability after ability and I would say it does it really well, especially the fears that come with living and coping with this type of situation.... Not knowing what is more scary living or dying, pretty deep and very thought provoking.
I do love how this drama shows the value of life, sensation, memories, and the way we affect the people around us. But what got to me the most was just how human (and gorgeous) the male lead is with or without illness, he is portrayed as a competent human being worthy of more love than he dares wish for, no matter how many or few hours his life has.
In numbers:
Bingabilaty: 10
Tearjerker: 9
Frustration: 9
Lovable characters:9
Punchable characters: 9
All in all definitely a very good drama worth watching, and even if they work great individually I would recommend watching this one after 1 Litre No Namida, so if you have not watch 1 Litres yet start there before you move on to this one

How many girls are too many for us to remember?
The first time I heard of BNK 48 was when I clicked on Faii Sumitta Duangkaew who played Dream in Something in my room.So this review is from someone who knew nothing about these girls.
This documentary is okay, it has captured some good lines but for a documentary about a girl band it is lacking music... I was kind of surprised over how many girls the band has (never really figured out the numbers) and about how much pressure they must be under but it was also refreshing to see a documentary be so honest about it. As these girls where facing an election with ranking and votes one of the dudes behind this said:
"This election will determine each girls market value"
As true as it probably is, it kind of hit hard to get that thrown in our face, the girls seemed well aware of that fact, the election will not determine popularity but will how much money each girls fanbase is willing to pay for their girl to hit the top.
And I guess that is show business for you... though it is rarely as upfront about it as it is in this documentary, basically it is what it is.
To be honest there were just to many girls in this group/documentary for them to truly get the space to leave a mark... I am no expert but once the amount of members in a group pass a certain number they stop being a group and become a crowd... a very talented crowd with lots of interesting individuals, but still a crowd...
Still it was an educational watch, not very well cut or entertaining but I learned quite a bit and it got me thinking.

Too short but sweet
This short film is such a sweet dose of cotton candy fluff...As we see Mr introverted reporter learn how to dance from mr extrovert and bubbly dancer... And oh how much fun they have in less than 20 minutes we get to see this beautiful connection, gorgeous moments and a whole lot of awkwardness without secondhand embarrassment as these two leads interact in the sweetest possible way...
The leads are just the sweetest ever, but Mr Introverted reporter has 1 questionable friend and one friend who is as sweet as Mr. Dancer lead so most of the characters are lovable and mr annoying has like 30 seconds of screen time and is probably just there to show prejudice against male dancers... These 19 minutes offer more drama than one would think would fit in a short period of time considering most of the time is taken by sweetness but it is most definitely present making this both interesting and sweet...
I would defiantly recommend this to all who are in need of pic me up dose of sugar and fluff. And would love to see more of these two...

Frustration at its finaet
Frustrated, more frustrated, most frustrated...This short film does a great job portraying two men who are really, really frustrated... A feeling that grows as the film progresses.
This film also manages to insert a whole lot of twits and made me change my mind more than once about the characters again all in less than 30 minutes and without actually leaving their seats... So I am pretty impressed by the pacing, dialog and way it is written. This film does a great job showing the frustration one can feel while having a long time crush on your friend without actually getting anywhere as well as getting mixed signals or just not being seen... or whatever other reasons there may be this film is just so relatable . I could truly feel the frustration grow... Bringing back memories and reminding me of just how frustrating some people can be... Did I mention it is frustrating?
So in short if you are in need of a dose of frustration, a short but interesting story with twists this is definitely a good choice, just make sure it is frustration you are looking for...
Now count the amount of times I mentioned frustration to see if you are up for the frustration in this film, All the best and good luck to you!

Relatable , Important but Messy
This drama is a bit hard to rate, partly because it is cut and shot kind of artistically messy... There is probably meaning behind the editing just that I do not really get it... Some of the shots are gorgeous but most of them are just oddly cut giving you the constant feeling of being in a messy room that you want to clean... + a little bit to much drunkeness and drugs for me to feel comfortable... But I think part of the point of this show is to make viewers feel just that really uncomfortable and that they achieved in abundanceThe characters in this drama are real relatable human being full of flaws that reminded me or people I used to know... I loved Ruth and would love to see more of her story and her potential love interest in a rom com... I also loved YeYe she is artistic, fun, flawed and really the type that is hard to be friends with but you can not help but love.
There are a lot of hints about the characters development, experience and relationships but it feels like we only get a very small part of their story leaving a little bit to much to the imagination and yes making it a bit hard to follow... there is also a lot of rap. music which is not really my cup of coffee but for those who enjoy rap this is probably pretty goos (I would not know...).
The drama has lots of funny and powerful lines, not enough to compensate the mess but enough to make it worth a watch!
Most of the social issues mentioned here are pretty universal, even if not always to the extent shown in the drama since laws and resources differ from country to country but many of the issues are still the same making it relatable even for those on the other side of the world from Manilla.
So yes worth watching just mind the mess and the drugs...
Also low bingabilaty but high lovability...

Cute, short, cute
Here are 7 minutes of my life I would gladly re live again... As I watched some pretty good acting and slightly odd humor teaching us all about how humans try to live up to expectations set up out of such slightly absurd reasons as ones blood type... with a lovely twist at the end. Yes 7 minutes and they still managed to fit in a twist! My love for Kim Seul Gi has only been strengthened. She is just so cute!
My love for Go Kyung Pyo was also just reinforced, so much that not even what i would call low poop-humor that I actually hate could endanger it as Go Kyng Py is probably the only human alive that can pull off poop-humor without loosing sex-appeal...
So I recommend you keep this for those times you just need a slight dash of fun in your life...

Cute Cocker Spaniel Computer Falls in Love with a Human...
Having smart buildings is all fun and games until one falls in love and decides to posses a Jerk male leads body...After that it gets fluffy, sweet, slightly confusing, slightly complected but ok not slightly very complected but pretty ok, mixing all kinds of scenes,,,,
Honestly with men being portrayed they are here I would pick a robot any time, especially if he got those abs... and well acted like a sweet, sweet Cocker Spaniel like the guy in this movie did.
The acting in this movie is ok but not great, the characters are fun and do not have annoying tendencies, the cinematography is ok, and the buildings/robots are just soo cute!
They also manage to fulfill one of my long time dreams, but what that dream is could be a spoiler so it´s a secret but, I am pretty sure you will guess what that dream is one you see it,
To sum it up, this movie is not great but pretty ok, so watch it don´t watch it... it doesn't really matter.

A dark hidden gem!
This movie was such a gem yes unique, funny and dark oh so dark... Showing a beautiful portrayal of a 118 year old granny, sweet, feisty, fun, honest and most definitely memorable.I fell in love with this old lady from the first scene and just fell deeper and deeper as I "got to know her and saw her interactions with the people around her showing that even a 118 year old can show character development. And while all she wants to do is die and join her husband and friends, the people around her seem set on keeping her alive so she can get the tittle (and money for being) "The oldest grandmother in the world". Done well, I dare say really well...
With such great scenes as: . the granny explaining to her grandson that They say delivering babies to the world ads years to your life.... she delivered a lot of babies, but now I have stopped...
or becoming over joyed over the little things that she thinks may bring her closer to her death ...
The great grandson shown in this movie is also well casted and well written, lovable and just like a sweet teddy bear you want to hug.
Considering the plot one may think the other characters would become silly or overbearing but they are not!
So all in all defiantly a movie you should watch, so honestly what are you waiting for? GO!
Also the Countryside and setting is just gorgeous!

Cotton candy fun!
This drama was just like eating cotton candy: fluffy story, sweet. fun! This drama has both high entertainment value and pretty good dialog as well as not only one but two adorable dogs that serve as not only great sources of cuteness but also enhance the feeling in the scenes they are in.
In the beginning there where a few scenes where the female lead had slightly (very slight) annoying tendencies but other than that not a single annoying character! All where fun, lovable had character development and where all round a pleasure to watch as they interacted with each other. Even the second male lead was lovable but without giving (me) SLS. I just loved how they handels issues such as insecurity, jealousy and big life decisions. I also completely fell in crush with Yokohama Ryusei and loved seeing Natsukawa Yui in a lovable role after cursing at her in Chugakusei Nikki.
The co-habitation and found family friendship in this drama is so much family goals that it almost makes me feel like moving in to a big house with a bunch of strangers... especially if one or two of them can cook such foodporn dishes as the ones in this drama... So the food shots here are top notch, there are also some pretty nice scenery shots and a beautiful umbrella scene adding on to the score.
Again this may not be a masterpiece (trust me it is not) but it is fun, beautiful and even if it does have some drama here and there is is an overall feel good fluff drama guaranteed to make you smile at least once.
Bonus: The fansubber for the version I saw added some extra comments and spice that gave it that little extra and made it even better!

Slow, depressing, aggravating but amazing friendships indeed...
This drama looks all fluffy and sweet on the outside with its flowers and smiles but ones you get near the characters the fluff disappears and you get some pretty real humans, that you find yourself wanting to throw off a cliff...Ok maybe not all of them and maybe not a cliff but still... There is something about most of the characters that just got under my skin and even if most of them also had good moments and interesting stories very few of them where actually lovable...
On paper this drama is prefect, the cast is amazing and well casted. The acting is flawless, the OST fits, the cinematography too,.. there is some pretty good and powerful dialog, and I would say the writing and directing feels real and high quality in some way... The story touches some pretty important issues too. So part of me would love to say this is just the perfect drama... It is divers and finally tells the stories of elderly people, stories that are seldom told and I want to see more of. Also showing some pretty admirable and amazing friendships that have lasted for so many years...
But no matter how great this drama is when I try to look at it objectively. it failed in entertaining me and making the story relatable for me. Or was it I that failed?
No matter how much I loved parts of it and wanted to love this drama I could not do it. Honestly I found myself pissed of about 90% of the time, feeling bad for some and wanting to shake some sense in to others... + just say run away, run away... Though I could relate to some of the stories told, the way they handled it got my blood boiling . the pace is slow and I honestly think you could watch part of it in 1,5 speed without noticing.
Another thing that kept bothering me was that the story was told about these women from they writers perspective and not so much their own, I guess I would have wanted to hear more from the elderly and the people with disabilities that are shown in the drama.
Also The main mother daughter relationship shown here is really toxic, and just terrible, the drama would have been so much better without it.
Even though this has a lot of elements that bothered me, I still think this drama is worth watching and therefor do recommend it.

Life is such sweet sorrow... Death too... heck it is complicated
Have you ever wondered what would happen to Romeo and Juliet if they where to meet again? Just that here it started in the late 80s, in Thailand and both are men.... but even the drama itself makes reference to the shakespeare so I am pretty sure that was part of what the writer was thinking when writing this drama. To be honest I find this one so hard to rate that it is ridiculous,... jumping between anything from an 8.5 to an 11.The story is really interesting, playing with a well known classic and a very delicate subject, in the beginning of the drama I almost feared that this drama was a little bit too positive towards suicide but as the story progresses it becomes more and more clear how complex this issue is, and one may start to wonder if it is a happy or sad thing to meet again... and regain all those painful memories from ones past life... I can not stress enough how deep they dive in to this and what a great job they do showing this in a respectful way. However the sobbing and constant tears that follow did become a bit to much at one point. I could understand the need for it but at some point it became slightly tiersum... However I do not know if that is a good or bad thing. Also it does become slightly far fetched..
The characters in this drama (both past and present) are really lovable, interesting, well preformed and I would say pretty well written.
Phram is this sweet delicate soul, tormented by the trauma from his previous life. He is such a sweet little kitten (scaredy cat) making you want to protect him from all harm. This boy seemed to have no middle ether he is this cheerful bright guy or terrified and covered in tears.
In (past Phram) is such a sweet bundle of energy and joy, kind of like Phram could have been if he had not been tormented by his past life.
Dean is also very lovable, some may say he is kind of cold but he is actually a very warm caring teddy. The type to be there and make you feel safe. Though he does have a few issues too, he shows a lot of respect towards Pharm and seemed to understand the importance of consent (most of the time).
Korn (past Dean) is also very lovable, except for the whole killing himself in front of his dad and lover... (first scene of the drama) he comes of as this calm, wise and kind older brother.
And the rest of the characters are (mostly) easy to love, show development and fit their purpose well be it for product placement of Lays or make up... they just fit in so well.
Other strong points of this drama are the desserts and swim team... Also it has one pretty great umbrella scene!
This is definitely a drama that will keep you interested and have you feel a whole range of emotions and therefore a drama I highly recommend.
