Before the sunshine there will be darkness, after the sunshines there will be darkness...
Mental illness, the stigma people with it face, challenges of treating mental illness and so on are all very important issues. The creators of this drama seem to want to do it all tackle how it is to treat an illness, the perspective of family, friends, the patient and society all in one while still offering the viewers a dose of sunshine between all these very painful issues . Offering the viewers a whole palette of mental issues. To be honest I think they got pretty close but there is something that keeps me from giving this a full score.I feel like I a m a bit undecided about the way they try to visualise the perspective of the patient experiencing an episode of mania, depression, anxiety and so on. And there are a few scenes that just feel forced and a bit to over the top healy for my liking. But they do manage to squeeze in a whole lot of great lines and important cases that need to be shouted out loud a lot more.
I could also relate to several parts of the story and perspectives, however as they took these to the extreme the relatability kind of subsided a bit (again lowering the score) .
Our female lead is amazing, Park Bo Young does a great job showing the whole spectrum of her character as well as how different she can be depending on the situation or who she is with. Playful with her bestie, child like with her mom, stand offish with the guy who acts weird on the bus and extremely patient with har patients while still showing us that nurses are human too. Probably one of the characters I could relate to the most from all the dramas I have watched so far.
Our male lead is so sweet and fun whenever the female lead was mentioned or on screen it felt feels like watching a child about to open presents on their birthday. Yet the guy still managed to seem competent and interesting.
So I would say Yeon Woo Jin nailed this role.
Jang Dong Yoon A.K. A the best friend is also adorable, interesting and a blast to watch, a great character versatile, helps forward the plot as well as made me feel bad for hi so many times it got ridiculous.
This is not a romance but it does have som romance and the second couple outshines the first couple with their screen time together as well as their story some of the best scenes in this drama where given to them and the way D.R Hwang adresses the mother in law issue was the cherry on top of this salty caramel sunday of a show.
The rest of the nurses, doctors, and patients where very well casted, some of the patients guardians or what they are called had me boiling but the acting was good.
All in all a drama I do recommend, just be were of the triggering elements

Kisses and a bunch of people with hidden agendas
This drama has one good episode, a decent female something and a bunch of really well executed kisses... and well that is about it... As slightly annoying guy has a crush on an amazing girl but gets douped by a guy with a hidden agenda on their way though some misunderstandings and the feeling of trust no one as they may or may not have a hidden agenda but honestly they all just fall flat.I was almost going to give this a 7,5 for the kisses, the good episode and the girl plus lack of issues to complain about but then a whole bunch of cringe happened and dragged down the score. Conversations with parents that had me gaging and just a whole lot of oh come on.... Seriously are they going to throw in that annoying trope. And well at that point I felt a 7 was a kind score.
So what can I say the romance has its good times and again great kisses... but honestly it is just not enough to make this a good or even a watch worthy of your time. But if you do not mind the lack of plot and cringe and have some time to kill go for it or just fast forward to the kisses and the scenes with the girl.

You can't hurry love and you can't hurry revenge but you can turn down the volume
Part two of the story keeps teaching us that revenge takes time, you can´t hurry love and you cant hurry revenge... However you can apparently scream a lot so before you watch this you may want to turn down the volume or keep the mute button close as there is more crying, yelling and screaming than dialog in this season of this drama, that I yet again do not get why they had to split in to two...The cast is lovely, scenery lovely there is a bit more blood and splatter than there was in season one and also more of Lee Do Hyun (but not nearly enough), the development of the story is pretty interesting some twist more predictable than others, but I would say it is a well paced, well thought of story with very few plot holes and unnecessary turns that create a beautiful web of revenge and friendships gone all over the place. Having the most unnecessary part of this drama be splitting it in two.
I hated the mothers voices in this drama but loved every single portrayal of motherhood here, letting some moms be selfish, others selfless, and some more of the found family type. Giving us a lot more evil than good.. And honestly I love it.
While there is some romance in this, it is not nearly enough to satisfy a romance lover like me but than again it is not a romance, so I guess the pebbles of romance we get should be considered a bonus to the otherwise thrilling screaming plot.
All in all a really decent story, easy to bing (an afternoon will do) and fun to watch... Just mind the screaming.
P.s. I hate to say this but Song Hye Kyo had better chemstry with Jung Sung Il than Lee Do Hyun, almost making me forget that his character (Ha Do Young) is a superficial sexist jerk deep down inside.
Also what I said about part one (linked as a comment) still goes

Melting Icicle meets a not so pathetic female lead...
This was sweet, fun at times draggy at times... You may also need to know that this is a FANTASYI am a complete sucker for cruel, cold and brutally honest male leads, and this guy had it all.... The female lead was not overly stupid or pathetic and was actually pretty lovable most of the time. And the mother of this drama is probably one of my all time favourite moms... to add to this there are also a whole lot of gif worthy moments and fun/honest/absurd dialog.
And while some of the twists are highly predictable there were a few that did manage to surprise me... The side characters did not show any overbearing or annoying tendency so I should probably have rated this higher than I did but there was just something in there that was missing. Could be a lack of chemistry between the second couple, could be that the lack of "it" in the rest of the side characters and it could just be that some side storys seemed unnecessary and just deviated from the plot. Or some cringy dialog/monolog here and there... Or it could just be my mood and the fact that I had misjudged the timing to binge this and had to take a break in the binge... Whatever it was it affected the score of this drama that has more or less all I love in a drama.
P.S. there was also a hint of gay representation that flashed by in an instant but it was still there to make me happy.

Brutal, bloody, beautifull yet probably overhyped..
This drama was awful to watch but has pretty high entertainment value, some parts where good, others mediocre, it did leave me guessing (some theories where right others wrong) and did keep me on my toes at times. It does have some interesting issues and does make you feel stuff... but not to much. And it definitely did leave room for more seasons as well as had me closing my eyes a lot. It is utterly brutal in some scenes that did both gross me out and just made me feel pain... a lot of pain, impressive painful pain. What ups the score for this otherwise pretty okay but not worth the hype drama is the beautiful combination of brutality and childrens games with extremely well (mis)fitted OST, something that I personally am a complete sucker for and the fact that my very picky and hard to get to watch K-dramas with husband said it was the best K-drama he had seen. the visuals here are just stunning (unless they are gross) and the contrast is just so good and hits all the right spots for me. I also liked to hate most of the characters and did enjoy some great (dark) humor and one liners from some of the contestants.
So this is not something for the faint hearted but for those of you with a somewhat bloody darkside this may just hit the spot. Just don´t get to attached to anyone....

Great remake of a great original...
I was a bit reluctant to watch this since I loved the original drama, for its portrayal of the less fit mother, toxic relationships and found family. So much that it made way to most of my series articles abut family relationships in dramaland. But with that said I did have some issues with the original, issues that I did not have with the remake. If you have seen the original and loved the story, you will probably love this one as it has just enough (very slight) differences to make you, or at leas me wonder how will they handle XYZ scene... While still sticking to the original story.
The acting and casting is really good, the chemistry is there and while I admit I loved the male lead in the C a lot more this one does a decent job, balanced up by the male leads who I enjoyed watching slightly more then the ones in the C. So basically they made up for it.
For those who have not seen the original C, this is drama that portrays family and bonds from many different perspectives and shows great contrast between different ways to be a parents well. I loved how this drama showed both the scares, pressure and pain created by the combination societies prejudice, expectations about parenthood and lets face it bad parenting as well as the sheltering/compensating affects of the good parenting, the found family and friendships can create.
The first time I saw this story I was obviously upset about some of the parts but it was also the first time I saw a character portrayed that was so close to my own mother, that I could overlook all the issues I had with it...
A good drama, an easy binge, but also a painful watch that is bound to make you feel a lot of things...

A slice of Life is F*** hard
This is less of a romance and more of a slice of life, the people we meet, the people we love, the pain of loss over and over and over and over again...Numbing it all with smiles, alcohol , dance and jokes... Lauging away the pain.
In 8 short. episodes we get to see a whole range of emotions and relationships getting knocked down, getting up again just to get knocked down or doing the knocking down as it is easier than facing some truths.
The cinematography is great, the acting spot on and dialog is top, top. I am not an expert but something tells me that nothing was left for chance. As there is not a single shot, prop or angle that was there as a filler.
This drama is definitely a feel things rather than a feel good type of drama , A meaningful story that sticks out and is sure to be remembered by those who view it.

My Secret Romance meets Extraordinary You
This little spin off is definitely cute and ads a little spice to the original, giving us the viewers more of these two in a lovely display of cliches and things I have seen before... Which I assume is intentional. An easy watch, short to the point rom com CEO webtoon parody, at ist most neutral. There to compensate us viewers who made it though No Gain No Love wishing these other two where the leads.
I am however not truly satisfied and wish they would have gotten their own series to begin with instead of being stuk as side kicks to the first drama.
But since it is to late for that I guess this will do....
Fun fact: My Secret Romance is a drama that I once started re watching by mistake...one that took me 2 episodes to realise that I had seen it before... So pretty much as forgettable as No Gain No Love...

Entertaining but Forgettable....
This was an entertaining watch, one of those dramas I watched today but will most probably forget tomorrow or the day after... as I had to take a break in my binge (a few days) and it took me a while to remember what the plot was once I started watching the last two episodes. While I do not like the female lead. By not like I mean I generally try to avoid her dramas, this was one of her better works, still not very likeable but indeed bearable.
Pretty much every single one of the side characters stories out shine the leads, by chemistry, story line, acting... You name it the other characters carry this show and are what makes it an entertaining watch worthy of that next episode button.
Male lead was fun in the beginning giving me my beloved cliches bit grew dull towards the end all in all an ok way to pass time...

Goblin of the Stone?
This drama has a little bit of everything and nothing at the same time. some moments of sweet, some moments of predictable oh so predictable and some moments of oh these affects are so bad they give it a retro feel...I find myself loving the godess a bit more than I probably should and probably enjoyed some of the side characters more than the actual leads but all in all the chemestry is decent, the story is fine and the found family friendships are all top, top, top.
The vilanis however are just lazy writing at its best, bad directing at its worst.
An okay watch but not much more...
P.S. there may be a plot hole or ten so beware and do not expect everything to make sense...

A great mix of uncontrollable emotions
is drama is pretty much why people or at least I fell in love with K-dramas filled with wrist-grabs, lies, corruption, banter, fun leads at times annoying side characters that still work, way to much yelling, muscles, gazes, kisses, impossible love and pain... A lot of pain!So after rewatching this drama I actually upped the score from a 9,5 to a 10 as it may not pe perfect and indeed has some pretty messed up lines, side plots and skippable scenes it pretty much reminded me of why I fell in love with K-dramas and even though I knew what I was in for I still kept wanting to press that button to watch the next episode.
To be clear I was annoyed at the yelling, and some of the lines as well as parts of the portrayals of the terminally ill did make my blood boil. But the good part make up for the bad. Giving em every single emotion known, showing great contrast between happiness and pain. Offering us the viewers some of dramalands most powerful scenes. Not to mention great chemistry and awful, just awful parents willing to latterly throw their kid under a truck to get ahead in life.
Ad some beautiful scheneery and and an amazing OST and such great lines as:
"My head was about to burst because of a certain girl. I thought this party would distract me. But.. I was wrong"
And you are in for an enjoyable binge, a painful binge, but my och my do I love this type of pain...

Frustrating
This drama has some sweet characters, lovely friendships, hardships and ships that Id say are pretty predictable yet so frustrating that I am glad I kept some hair on my head....Slow, frustrating, going no where low selfasteam... so much so that it managed to kill one of my favourite tropes the contract relationship.
So while I did find elements in here entertaining and did like the characters I spent most of this drama borde or frustrated... Still I do fel that I need to give it some points for the imaginative characters and ways to prolong the frustration.
Also they do have a lot of interesting point in their discussions and show the frustration from several interesting angles.

Wind can be oddly entertaining
This drama taught my the Thai word for wind and that a windmill ca not spin without wind.. ok to be honest I kind of knew that windmills need wind but hat it failed to convey is that to much wind can break a windmill and that the wind can do perfectly fine without the windmill... Ok this is a lot of wind, and while the story does have a storm or two there is actually a lot more rain than wind in this drama. The story itself is the typical boys over flowers type of story rich kids bully the poor, fall in love and turn the bullying in to bickering protective joy with the added bonus of one lovely granny, some gangsters, sports and injuries... making you wonder are these really teens? And will they survive in this dangerous world where the romance seems to be the only safe thing out there...
The boys are cute, the girls to, the friends are lovely, the bullies have wonderful character development almost making us forget they are bullies... All put together you get, I get we get a pretty entertaining drama... A bit to cringey at times but over all highly entertaining and not so much more...

Life and Death at its Fluffiest...
First this dram taught me how to say Cat in Japanese! Which is an achievement on its own.Second this drama had me laughing, crying, then laughing and crying at the same time which is a huge achievement and I love it for it.
Third this drama managed to convey people with illnesses, that are dying as actual human beings.. They then almost ruined that by talking about leaning stuff from the dead and having to live on for them.. but they also talked about moving on for one self so I forgive them...
Forth they actually let a person who was dying have a pretty normal romance...
Fifth fluffy cats.. and an occasional dog
Sixth UMBRELLAS used to perfection! ok not perfection it was a bit to gender coded.. and not yellow... but almost to perfection.
So basically this was actually a really good story... Painful, Powerful, strangely relatable... With vey lovable characters, living life to their fullest while facing death in a more human less judgey more realistic kind of way... Showing a person with a terminal illness wishing for other things than just a cure. As she truly is shown as a human being with both feelings and fears... and so on and so on. There is a lot of fun dialog in this drama, bed jokes (in a good way) and just life.. and death... and life....
Unfortunately there were some aspects of the male leads mimics/acting that did not really work for me in several of the episodes... as if he felt just a little bit to child like at times... which is one of the reasons this is not scored higher... that and a few unrealistic portrayals here and there + the whole use peoples death as motivation to do stuff...
Defiantly a drama I recommend, it is also highly bingable just make sure to have a sleeve and prepare to cry, not ugly cry but foggy eyes at the least... I actually shed a bunch of real tears.

Sweet, odd, very, very quiet...
A movie revolving around the hearing impaired without actually including hearing impaired leads. This was a pretty sweet rom-com about a hard working boy who falls in love with a heard working girl , and chases her only using sign language and his adorable charm.
The movie has a slightly odd angle to the subject of love beyond sound and about 95% of the dialog is shown using sign language even thought the main characters have pretty good hearing and can both use spoken words and sound, The two start off using sign language and do not really seem to need sound to fall in love. A pretty decent message as a whole, and I guess showing that hearing or non hearing should not matter is easier when there is a possibility of actually hearing and does give this movie a certain uniqueness.
What i liked about the movie was the way they showed the sibling relationship as well as both perks and troubles of being a sibling to a person with a disability. I also liked that the movie did not ignore prejudice and problems both mede by society and by the disability it self that can affect a persons day to day life without letting it take over the story or be the only side of it. I also liked that they did shoe that it is possible for the hearing to learn sign language and that it is possible to make a whole move using it instead of spoken language too.
But I was a bit bothered by the abele bodied being in focus for the story of the disabled. Even if the stories message as a whole is people with disabilities are human, they can be independent and competent human beings... something just does not really sit right.
All in all an okay movie, nothing wow but definitely different and the leads are sweethearts indeed.
