Pearls of Destiny: Emotions and Unexpected Twists in an Unforgettable Drama
Everything about this drama flows so naturally, and it is utterly captivating. The main heroine is pearl hunter Duan Wu, portrayed by the experienced actress Zhao Lusi, who searches day after day for ways to survive and fulfill the promise to her deceased mother. Her performance is stellar, simply fantastic. So far, dramatic emotions prevail, but occasionally there are glimpses of humorous scenes so typical for her.The main male protagonist is jewelry merchant Yan Zi Jing (played by Liu Yu Ning), as he is currently presented. He appears to be the villain of the entire story, and in certain moments he is. However, his coldness and sometimes even harsh behavior towards Duan Wu offer those moments that the viewer wants to see—how she has to fight for her life. These are the scenes where Zhao Lusi shines in her extremely demanding emotional moments. It should be noted that his childhood was not happy, and he likely went through tough times after losing his parents, which influences his view of Duan Wu. Here I see the life motto: "Life doesn't coddle anyone; if you want to survive..."
If Yan Zi Jing is the black character, then the other male protagonist is the opposite—the white one; they are complete opposites. Zhang Jin Ran (played by Tang Xiao Tian) portrays a scholar in the story and treats Duan Wu with absolute sincerity and support. It seems that there are glimpses of sympathy towards this girl.
Throughout the entire work, Cui Shi Jiu and Zheng Zhi Heng appear as the main antagonists, their relationship beginning as a tangled game of mutual exploitation and ambition. However, as the plot progresses, especially at the moment of Zheng's death, the true depth of their feelings becomes evident. This tragic event reveals the genuine love that had developed between them. In the end, Cui Shi Jiu finds her path alongside Su Mu Zhe, and the two build a respectful friendship that reflects their personal growth and ability to overcome the past.
In conclusion, this drama is truly remarkable work that combines strong acting performances, a deep storyline, and unforgettable characters. Every scene is meticulously crafted and keeps the viewer in suspense from beginning to end. If you're looking for a series that will emotionally move you and offer an intense experience, this is the one. I highly recommend it to all lovers of dramas filled with emotions and unexpected twists.

Hearts in Harmony: The Tale of Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu
This story is about love in its many forms. It's about the love between Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu. Their loving and pure relationship didn't happen immediately; both heroes had to go through a lot to find their way to each other. Then there's the unique love between a brother and sister. Although the siblings tease each other, they support one another, and brother Shang Zi would do anything to protect his little sister. There's also the love between children and their parents, where in this case, the whole family functions very harmoniously and respects each other. In this love story, of course, there are many challenges that the protagonists must go through. The main heroine transitions from a little girl into a woman and becomes a great support for her Duan Jia Xu. Raised in a harmonious environment, she becomes his protector, support, and other half when she encounters the hardships faced by her boyfriend. These fragments are always very touching, and her sincerity and purity often bring tears. However, there are also very comedic moments, as is typical for actress Zhao Lusi, and these are precisely the parts that I can watch over and over again. Like when Sang Zhi is carried on the back to her dormitory, or many funny moments with her brother. For me, it's one of the nicest modern Chinese dramas, which never has a dull moment and, at least for me, is one you'll return to from time to time.

Review and Analysis of The Last Immortal and Its Impact in the Xianxia Genre
I've been thinking about how to approach the review of this drama. I don't want to describe the plot here, so I'll focus only on certain facts.Th Last Immortal is a drama that was the first xianxia drama I really enjoyed. It can be said that it opened the door to this genre for me. Why is that? Because Last Immortal was very refreshing for me; the drama flowed nicely, and I enjoyed every second of it. There's no need to talk about the acting performances – Zhao Lusi is already a good actress, and Wang An Yu, along with the others, complemented her very well.
Regarding the storyline, as I have already written, everything was understandable to me, though towards the end, I would have liked more twists.
I really appreciated and enjoyed the costumes and hairstyles, which reflected the different phases of the characters well, from the playful and childish A Yin to the brattish, spoiled Gu Jin. As the characters developed, the hairstyles and costumes were, of course, appropriately adjusted.
Below, I focused on four parts and selected three main key points from each. This doesn't mean that I couldn't find more points in some areas, but I wanted to highlight only the key ones.
The main strength of both dramas is exceptional acting performance. In particular, Zhao Lusi and Wang An Yu are outstanding in their roles and significantly contribute to the success of these series. The stories of both dramas are captivating and unfold in richly created worlds, with deep and interesting characters. The visual aspect, including costumes and hairstyles, adds to the authenticity and immerses viewers in the story. Additionally, The Last Immortal builds on the previous work "Ancient Love Poetry," which expands the fan base and opens new horizons in the xianxia genre.
Despite their strengths, these dramas also have some weaknesses. TLI is strongly linked to ALP, which might be an obstacle for some ALP fans, as it might not have met their expectations for the drama's development. In some parts of TLI, there may be a lack of complexity and depth in the story, which some viewers might consider a shortcoming. Differences between the book and the TV adaptation can also deter some fans.
The drama offers a number of opportunities for further development. There is great potential to attract new viewers, especially those who are not yet familiar with the xianxia genre. The interest in the characters and the story offers an opportunity for modern adaptations, which could appeal to a wider audience and bring new dimensions to the genre.
TLI faces competition within the xianxia genre, which is full of similar themes. High expectations from fans and comparisons with classic works of the genre can be a challenge. The ending of "The Last Immortal" evoked mixed reactions among viewers, which can affect the overall impression and recommendations. For some viewers, the end of the drama might be a challenge or an opportunity for another sequel.
