June 2020

Wow! Has it been an entire year since I last updated. Well this past year wasn't the best that is for sure. My son with cancer for the third time is still with us, but sadly we don't know for how much longer. My drama viewing has been much more scarce this last year. That is sad for sure. I am hoping that as things begin to settle down I will be in a better place to get back into some. I have a large list of 'currently watching' lol. That will be cleaned up soon. All those who have friended me recently thank  you all so much. I really love and appreciate it! Love to you all. Hope life is good. 

June 2019

A lot has been going on and so I have not been as fervent with my drama viewing. My oldest son was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. The first he was 14 and now he is 18. I have been in rewatch mode lately. I rewatched Fated to Love You and I am currently rewatching Secret Garden. Oh I just squeezed in the Korean film 'The Throne'. Highly recommend. It is a somber film. It starts bleak and ends in tragedy. It's an oppressive true story, but a compelling tale. Check it out.

August 2018

I just finished Reply 1988 for like the 5th or 6th time at least. It is without a doubt the greatest and most endearing 'time' I have spent escaped to another world. No other television series, movie, book ANYTHING is as good. That is where I wish I could have lived, loved and grown up. I, like the five in the series, was born in 1971...along with my significant other who is also here in mydramalist - Deanna Lee. It makes Reply 1988 even more special because even though it was South Korea, it was still OUR 1988.  (I typed this in my phone, I hope it isn't too much a mess. Lol. Oh well, most of what I write it a mess. Haha.) Love to all my drama friends! And to any future friends! 

May 2018 - I just have to say...I never 'skip' or fast forward. How do you do that? How do you know if you are missing something vital or important? I am suspecting that if you feel the urge to skip then the drama isn't good enough for you. I have been at some moments in dramas I get things drag or meander, but I soldier through. If it gets too bad time to drop, only one have I dropped, but I still feel I will go back and finish. Lol. 

April 2018 - Another little hiatus. I am reading Shogun!!! Extraordinary. I strongly recommend it to you all!! If love Japan and your stories rooted some in history, this novel takes place 1600, Shogun is a captivating read. Thank you Deanna Lee...I love you;-)

Update February 10, 2018... Taking an Olympic drama break. My heart is bulging over the North/South Korea arrangement. I really hope a peace of some sort can be found!! Loved the opening ceremony...so beautiful. Tears welled up in my eyes when the North/South Koreans climbed up to the torch together. Watched the first hockey games Japan vs Sweden and Korea vs Switzerland. Go Chloe Kim! Hope you all enjoy some of the Olympics too!!

I love getting new friends. Not sure why, but I always enjoy friend requests! Now this is COMPLETELY optional, but I am ALWAYS curious how you found me and why you friended me. I always visit new friends profiles and peruse their lists. I have found some great series and movies that way, more movies, but I certainly appreciate it. But hey I love new friends regardless:)

***Update October 2017***

I wanted to explain why I have so many high ratings. First, I'm reasonably easy to please. Second, I research and tried to watch the higher rates dramas. I do this because there are so, so, so many to watch I can't afford to choose a lousy series. Finally, I try to, as most do I suspect, try to choose what sounds like what I would love. These basic things have kept my viewing reasonably high quality. The down side is there could be that gem I like, but others don't. 'Angel Eyes' comes to mind. One of only three series I have imported/bought on DVD. It's a 10 to me. I bawled my eyes out - I love melodrama/tragedy. Yet, last.time I checked this series by others was sitting at only 7.6. 7.6????? What???? LOL! That's a travesty. But, I will stick to my formula. I do listen to other's recommendations too.

Anyway...Hello. I haven't been watching dramas quite a year yet - it won't be a year until about November 2016. However, I am hooked! I know it's weird that I'm a guy that loves them so much. I had a Twitter friend into dramas and eventually she asked if I was gay. Lol. No I'm straight - completely. I just love them for so many reasons. I believe some day I will indeed take the time to completely write all the reasons I love them. 

Some of my favorites are Playful Kiss, Angel Eyes, 1 Litre of Tears...but my favorite above all without a doubt...

Reply 1988. Reply 1988 is so good that it seriously makes me want to consider dropping every other drama by .5. I wonder if it should be the only 10 sometimes...but no I won't. It is that good to me though.

***September 2016 - I'm currently in a movie mode. Catching up on the highest rated and most probable to illicit tears - I find it cathartic and oddly addictive to be made to cry. Yes, I'm a man not afraid to cry at all...and admit to it!!

I intend to write more comprehensively on this, but this is a quick introduction. 

Oh yeah, I see the ladies always putting the gentlemen they adore in their profile, well us guys can adore the leading actresses too!!
