This is one of the best dramas I’ve seen this year, although I do enjoy the mystery genre a lot. The writing was top-notch and I felt that the cast were really suited to their roles, from the smart-yet-cheeky Lee Hyun to the adult who experienced an emotional rollercoaster as a childhood. The story was written in such a way that I knew what some of the characters was wrong, both legally and morally, yet I could somewhat emphatise with how they were feeling.

From some of the reviews I’d read, it seemed that some people found the storyline slow to begin with and I tend to agree, although these first few episodes were really setting the scene for some really good storytelling from Episode 5 onwards. I found myself more and more drawn to the character of Attorney Jang, as well as the budding partnership between Lee Hyun and Cha Ji-an. The focus in the main characters is certainly there, but I found myself also interested in other side-stories such as the Chief Planning Officer / Hyun’s guardian and the relationship between Team Leader Kang and his father.

The music and soundtrack played was generally suitable to the scenes and the acting, but there wasn’t really a piece of music which was really memorable for me (then again, I’m not really a music person, it takes a really good song to stick in my head).

I probably wouldn’t rewatch this drama, I really enjoyed watching the storyline unfold and I think it just wouldn’t be as enjoyable the second time around. Also, I don't tend to rewatch many dramas so this low rewatch rating doesn't at all reflect how much I enjoyed it the first time round. For now, I’ll stick to watching cuts of the incredibly cute moments between the brothers!

After being a member of MyDramaList for some time now, and thoroughly enjoying reading the thoughts of fellow drama-watchers, finally I’ve decided to take the plunge and write my first review! I marathon-ed this drama, watching it from start to finish in just under a week, and judging from the comments this seems to be quite a key factor in how people view the show.

Apart from the first couple of episodes, which were infuriating to say the least, I was on the verge of dropping the show altogether but surprised myself by becoming increasingly emotionally connected with the characters. Perhaps having a close relative who had cancer meant that I could relate to the emotions being conveyed, but I felt that the writers did a fairly good job of discussing a potentially depressing topic like cancer in a more light-hearted and funny way which engages the audience while still conveying the overall message which is that miracles are not impossible, and the importance of living for today.

While some others have found the storyline to be rather draggy, I was actually quite entertained and thought that the story moved at just the right pace – quickly enough to keep me engaged in the overarching storyline yet slowly enough to absorb the emotions of the characters. Despite the very heavy focus on the lead family, I really enjoyed having quirky supporting characters who really injected some humour into the storyline.

I suppose part of the success of the drama as a whole was the wonderful way in which the cast portrayed the emotions of their characters, and I was especially impressed with Lee Re whose portrayal of Sa-Rang was incredibly real beyond her years. I had seen Lee Dong-gun in the past, and loved the way in which he depicted Han Yeol’s character development towards a caring and considerate family man. Also, I’m not usually one for the music, but the OST of this drama really struck a tone within me and despite finishing the drama several days ago I cannot seem to get the tune of Yolo Man out of my head :/.

I probably wouldn’t rewatch this drama from start to finish, not sure if I could sit through Mi-rae’s incredibly imposing and frustrating behaviour at the beginning although I might rewatch some of the latter episodes. I’d definitely recommend this, especially to those who need a bit of a mood lifter, but make sure you have time for marathon-ing!
