I've watched many shows from Korea, China, Japan and SE Asia. Some great, some decent and there were a few I'd rather forget. Part of my drama viewing routine is to write a review for each show I consumed. There are the odd gaps here and there but I've done over 250 to date.
My review scoring scale:
10 - Near perfection. The positives far outweigh the negatives. I'm happy to recommend this show unreservedly. It has my seal of approval.
9 - There are minor but nagging issues which I can't overlook. It is still a top show which I'm happy to recommend.
8 - A good show which I enjoyed but there are caveats. Read some reviews first if this is not your first choice.
7 - It is ok. If you are a fan of the stars then you will be happy. It is watchable, but there are some issues. Caveat emptor, my friend.
6 - The show has serious problems. I'd most likely drop this drama or skip to the end. You have been warned.
5 or less. Move on. Nothing to see here. Read a book.
From my point of view, there are only a handful of shows in a year that deserves a 10/10 but that is my personal opinion. Hype and popularity does not equate bonus points in my book.
On the flip side, I don't believe that all bad shows deserve a 1/10 by default. Most productions require a number of dedicated workers. They are not all at fault so they deserve at least some recognition.
See you around dramaland and hope you like my reviews. Please share, like and follow. :D
