I've seen both the Japanese version and the Korean version of Hana Kimi with the J -version coming first. To the Beautiful You tones down the slapstick a lot from the J version. TtBY focuses on the romantic story between Tae Joon and Jae Hee more which I actually enjoyed. Overall I thought this was a very cute drama. The acting by the main leads was nothing special, but the sweetness of their relationship and how it developed made up for it. I would definitely recommend this drama for someone wanting a simple first love drama that is heavy on the cute and light on the angst. It's not a demanding watch and made me smile throughout.
