My top favorite romantic dramas

My thoughtsTouch Your HeartWatashi Wa Douka Shiteiru
(Touch Your Heart)
This drama always made me go 'why are they so cute' moments! I love the leads. Dong Wook's character is so my ideal type in men, huhu.

(Watashi Wa Douka Shiteiru)
Never have I ever seen such amazing quality, especially in a J-drama. Not only are the leads literally so hot they can both step on me (cuz dayum), but the plot was actually catchy.

Shanai Marriage HoneySchool 2015
(Shanai Marriage Honey)
This drama contains a lot of mature scenes! I will admit that I was surprised that the male lead, being pretty young, took on this role! This drama doesn't really have a strong plot, IMO, but it's still the best. Cute moments 100/10.

(School 2015)

I will say right now that this drama alone deserves to be in the list of dramas with an unsatisfying ending. Firstly, the K-drama revolves mostly on the female lead and second male lead, giving us watchers the hope that they would surely end up together, only to pair the female lead with the main male lead despite ZERO intimate moments together. Trash ending! But other than that, I decided to add it in my favorite romantic drama list because it is a must watch! Second male lead and female lead have strong chemistry. I love them sm ;-;

My top favorite non-romantic dramas

The Sound of MagicMy thoughts

Ji Chang Wook's character is honestly so damn relatable. As soon as we are shown his past I went like bam, this is my top favorite character in the whole series. Despite having had a rough past, he still carries on with a smile like everything's alright. And even though I'm not a fan of magic, it was cool to see him drop some tricks here and then. I also found it interesting how the plot wasn't entirely about magic but mainly focused on the character's main struggles. Worth watching.

Kingdom (literally both seasons + movie)My thoughts
Kingdom's plot is just *chefs kiss* Every episode had me on the edge of my seat. I truly do hope for a third season. All the actors are amazing and I still cannot get over how well the series ended. So over-hyped, yet so good!
As the God's WillMy thoughts
Compared to Squid Game, these games were the literal definition of brutal. I honestly can't even fathom the idea of ever participating in these games. First off, the plot itself is genius. I really like the setting, but the quality wasn't really the best one out there. Typical J-drama, I'm used to it as someone who watched so many of them, lol Although it is perfect, it isn't watchable as in I would watch this game and never get tired of it because I honestly would. To end things here, the main character, Shun, is actually smart af(and handsome), His skills to survive the games are out of the world. I really love this movie.
Alice in BorderlandMy thoughts

Prepare yourselves, this will have quite a big of a rant. I'll start off with saying, Japan, you have actually done it. You've exposed the world with what you're capable of, and I couldn't be more proud! There are so many Japanese series and movies that I would LOVE to introduce to my friends and family but it's so hard to find good ones in Viki, much less Japan. They're just not as accessible as K-drama's are. Japan's entertainment industry simply doesn't expose their stuff overseas compared to South Korea. I guess it's pretty understandable because Japan's population alone is enough to expose their own media to their own people. However, there are so many actors/actresses that I feel should take the spotlight and be more exposed to the western world like Korean actors and actresses. Now, my rant has finished. Let's get on with the actual J-drama itself.

Alice in Borderland is pretty interesting. Typical survival game show, but it's actually good. We first see people disappearing and Alice being left with his friends. I got pretty immersed at the first games, as new characters got introduced and such. But that particular episode when Alice is truly left alone, is what completely takes the turning point of this whole series. I was actually expecting his friends to live, but Jesus Japan, you are a goddamn genius for not allowing that to happen. It was so much more emotional than any other scene in the history of J-dramas. Not to mention Japan is good at family dramas. They always make me bawl like a baby -aggressively points at Enoshima Prism- Now, I have seen many hate towards this drama because of the way the female characters are treated. The beach's rules were to keep as little clothing as possible on your body, but meanwhile, men were wearing t-shirts while the women wore bikinis. I mean, their reason makes sense, but honestly, that was kind of the point, to show the viewers that the people who were in charge of the beach were ruthless bastards, right? I don't think the scriptwriter intended to write that without thinking the consequences of it. There is obviously a reason why misogyny exists, even in a J-drama. And I think many missed the point on it.

Endings I found the most unsatisfying

My thoughtsEnoshima Prism
This J-drama made me bawl like I never cried in my life. I grew so attached to their friendship and it was such a shame things weren't able to carry out in the end for the main character. Watched it for the second time months ago after years of not watching it, and I STILL cried at the ending. It's a never endless cycle.
My thoughtsCheese in the trap
Oh my god, guys. I can't even explain how much I hated this drama as a whole. But the ending in particular, it's thrice as bad. Gave School 2015 vibes all over again! Both leads are actually NOT IT. It was a literal slap to the face for us second-lead fans. It's even a miracle I continued watching K-dramas after this flop. Justice for Baek In-ho. That's it.
My thoughtsA Werewolf Boy
The plot was weird, but I guess those were the 2010's era, lmao. I still strangely enjoyed it. Reminded me a lot of those cringy yet somehow hooking J-dramas. Idek. But the ending really triggered me. I was expecting romance, not the female lead to turn old and meet Joong Ki's character again. -sighs- Sorry, I know this isn't romance but I can't help it. Just let me live in peace!
My thoughtsHeroine Disqualified
Basically the Japanese version of Cheese in the trap and School 2015. Hated HATED the ending! GAHHHHH!
