A Hidden Gem with Hidden Secrets
Negotiator (2003) is best seen by going in completely blind, and not knowing too much about the story (or twists). Thankfully, that is how I came across the film while searching up free Japanese movies on Youtube. The film starts like a typical crime thriller like Die Hard (1988) and ends with twists and turns seen in another Japanese movie called Confessions (2010). The story left me guessing, and that I think is worth a rewatch alone. As for the acting, it was efficient. No one stood out too much, (other Ishida and his hairstyle) and the actors did their job appropriately. If anyone is interested in a crime thriller, Negotiator (2003) provides an engaging ride.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Get Ready For A Wild Ride!
I came across Reset (2022) on Viki, and the plot summary intrigued me: A group of people stuck on a bus doomed to the same accident, and two characters constantly fighting to leave a time loop?? Sounds like a blast!! I was expecting an action-thriller that is similar to films like: Speed, (1994) or The Source Code. (2011) However, the plot is a psychological cat and mouse game of not only getting off the bus, but dealing with the suspicions of the cops as well. There are times when I felt as trapped as the characters were, and that alone is a great reason to check out the drama. The suspense is nail-biting, and will definitely leave you at the end of your seats. I was wondering if the two leads: Xiao He Yun and Li Shi Qing will ever be able to leave their situation. Unharmed. Lastly, detective Zhang Chang's character definitely stole the show for me. His interrogations made me wish that there was a C-Drama with just his character alone!! If anyone is looking for a solid psychological thriller, this should definitely be added to the list!!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Time Waits For No One
Take Me To The Moon (2017) is a time-traveling story of childhood regrets, and growing up. The story itself is similar to another film staring Vivian Sung called Our Times. (2015) Both films deal with two different types of childhood regrets, and each story is filled with nostalgia. Although I personally prefer Our Times, I still enjoyed the performances of Jasper Liu as the main lead, and Vivian Sung as the love interest. They are both very believable, and I ended up rooting for them both by the end of the story. As for the OST, it was okay. I was a little disappointed, since the film is suppose to be about music, but it is made up by lovable characters and their stories. If you enjoyed this film, definitely check out Our Times!! This could easily be a double-feature.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Never Trust A Transfer Student!
Alice, the Final Weapon (2022) is similar to Hanna (2011) and The Psychopath Diary (2019) but if the plot were set in high school. The best part of the show for me is the chemistry of the main actors: Park Se Wan, and Song Geon Hee. The main characters' chemistry is oddly sweet in this dark film, and their comedic scenes really made the show unique. The music choice also adds a bit of charm to the scenes, and makes the romantic scenes really stand out. The weakness of this show are the villains, I think they are a bit over-dramatic throughout the whole show. However, the action scenes can be very intense, and definitely added the sense of danger throughout the story. This is a show that doesn't take too long to watch, and I'm sure people will find a new gem while watching. Definitely worth checking out blind!!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
