I hear your voice is one of my favorite Korean dramas and imagine my surprise learning that there was Chinese remake. I often shy away from remakes because sometimes I get disappointed that it did not get the essence of the original. Not to mention that I loved the chemistry of Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young in the original drama. It didn't feel like there was an age gap. The other characters were okay was well like Lee Bo Young and Lee Da Hee's chemistry as frenemies.
So when I started watching this Chinese adaptation, I tried to lower my expectations so that I wouldn't be disappointed. And surprisingly, I wasn't disappointed. The leads of the Chinese adaptation captured the essence of the original and they had chemistry. That was surprising. Also the frenemies had also chemistry. What I didn't like in this adaptation is the villain. I feel like the villain in the original Korean drama was more convincing and that his back story had value. The villain here was evil for evil's sake. I didn't quite feel why he did everything.
