Good for k-drama beginners (it def was for me)
Because of the powers that Bong-Soon has in the story, the narrative that women are weaker gets flipped entirely throughout the whole show. While she does get taken care of eventually- she is a pretty well-rounded character, smart, kind, and strong. She can take care of herself essentially. The male lead is one of my favorites that I have seen in K-Dramas so far, he is just the right amount of slay. I have seen almost 200 dramas, this one still ranks in my top 10 list, very warm and heartfelt.
The soundtrack is really good too.
(old review I wrote lol)
Like— the traditional gender roles FLIP in the most amazing Olympic gymnast way.
Not only does the male lead have a secure masculinity- HE IS GORGEOUS and makes bromance jokes toward the second male lead, which is SO funny and made it interesting.
DON’T EVEN get me started on the female lead.
She is an elegant beast, strong and beautiful.
