I always heard this was a good drama but I never got around to watching it until now in 2020. It didn't age much except for the bad storyline of the main character. I am a huge fan of Jang Hyuk and he acted superbly in this drama. However, I have a lot of issues with the storyline of this drama that is why I cannot rate it any higher. I didn't really care for the subplots and really disliked LDH's role in this drama. Why can't JH's character finally get something good in life? Instead of everything always going horribly wrong episode after episode...its very frustrating to watch. It makes me feel like I wasted my time. The whole show is a tease and I do not like to be teased. I mean the main characters in the love story don't meet until like ep 15?! C'mon! Watch with caution.

I hesitated watching this drama because the time period seemed boring and I don't like watching anything about war, etc. I'm glad I decided to watch it as its a really nice one. I've loved LBH since watching All In and I just swoon over him more since watching this drama. The role was made for him. He speaks English so well and acts better than that all the other people who speak English in this drama. I loved the comraderie between the guys and the love story was really well written. I wish all dramas can be this good!

It's not that bad but its not particulary good...I have no idea why it was such a sensation. It had a lot of flaws.
The main guy is handsome but theres really not a lot going on in this drama. I see some people mention there isn't a lot to SHG's acting and I agree. Some parts I really enjoyed but overall I was not that impressed. It was ok though. Totally overhyped and dragged on at times. I would only recommend to watch if you are bored and need to pass the time. There are better dramas out there.
