Grew up watching martial-arts movies in the '80s; Jackie Chan made my teenage heart flutter... both a comedic & athletic genius! Saturday matinee Kung-Fu Theatre on the USA TV Network instilled an early love for wuxia.
Binge-watched Bollywood with my Bestie on Netflix & Eros for a couple of years. {Shouting out my love for SRK & Rani Mukerji!} BFF then recommended Lucid Dream/Snow Lotus & I gave it a shot. Nice mix of modern & period piece; first gender-bender; Ji Jin Hee! Enjoyable, but not life-altering. Until, she told me about this ah-may-zing show that I *had* to watch... W. The story was different than anything else I'd seen before! This lead me to watch Nine: Nine Times Time Travel, followed by Moonlight Drawn by Clouds Give me more; I was hooked!
From then on, it's pretty much been exclusively K/C/J/T-drama binges. I watch all genres from sweet silly rom-coms, to time-traveling action/crime thrillers, to historical period costume pieces filled with political palace machinations, to modern slice-of life dramas, to magical action-packed wuxia rife with intrigue. I have a fondness for the supporting character actors that work so hard ; I tend to follow them more than the leads.

My main interest lies with stories that have a strong female lead, supportive friendships & swoon-worthy Bromances, with a supernatural or psychological twist. I also love to see storylines with people nearer my own age bracket [40+]. Personal pet peeve: underutilized FL characters. Ladies start out with cool storylines and awesome skillsets that fade into nothingness as soon as the the ML either falls in love with them or the mystery is close to wrapping up. [Black. Hwayugi.
