Drama Special Season 9: My Mother's Third Marriage

Everyone yearns for love. The differences lie in the type of love.
I really liked this drama, but not in the kind of way I usually like dramas (for their being cute, and with extremely happy or cute endings, usually a wedding lol). Although a lot of people said they were dissatisfied with the ending, I think that it was really good for the story. I mean, my girlish heart wished for a different ending, but my brain (which at least tries to appreciate artistic things) still liked how it flowed with the rest of the story. The story starts by showing the strained relationship between the mother and her daughter. It becomes apparent within the first 2 seconds that the mom was not mature enough when she had her child and thinks that she is doing what is best for her daughter without explaining anything to her (which is the fault of oh so many parents, but extremely exaggeratedly so in this case).
In any case, without trying to give any spoilers, the daughter desperately tries to sabotage her mother's most upcoming wedding through an unconventional way, which isn't fully explained at first, and then low-key backfires on her because, of course, emotions are hard to control.
I wouldn't say the story was very realistic. I think there were a lot of things that were just really far-fetched and convenient for the plot-line, but artistically, I liked where the writers were trying to go with it. And I also think the beauty of drama specials lies in how short they are, with ambiguous endings and tons of questions that are only slightly answered.

Timing is IMPORTANT
A while ago, I discovered a drama special, thinking it was actually a full-fledged drama. But since then, I've kind of been addicted to them because I get bored easily and I love how drama specials are short but (usually) fully loaded. This drama was all about misunderstandings and missed timings and it was SO realistic for people who are just not super secure or just tend to misunderstand all by themselves, being too scared to ask for clarification. Also, I didn't exactly realize at the time that I watched this special, but it also teaches some pretty important life lessons about friends and friendships. I loved it and definitely recommend it to anyone. The acting was also just SO superb in this.

Cute, Short, and has a good meaning?
To be honest, I'm writing this review kind of a while after I watched the drama special. I just came back to notice that there weren't very many reviews on this page. I do remember that I liked the drama special, but it also wasn't anything groundbreaking. It's something really good to watch when you're bored or lonely or down in the dumps. The main characters are pretty interesting. The girl is kind of like the cliche drama protagonist girl: she's not well-off, she's optimistic, she's outspoken. In the synopsis, it said she was a comedian who wasn't funny, but to be more truthful, she's just a plain, boring person when she tries comedy. All of her jokes never land because they aren't original and there isn't anything physically different about her either. BUT she thinks that changing her name to something funny (Gorilla) would maker her stand out, which of course, is just her grasping at straws. The male lead is stoic, stubborn, and has absolutely ZERO social skills. He's waaaaaaaay too honest for his own good and says things that may be true, but also are definitely NOT what the other person wants to hear. And he's also kinda really prejudiced at first against her.
The story was pretty cute, but, like I said earlier, it wasn't the most amazing drama special. I don't think I would rewatch it, but it wasn't a waste of my time either.
