This was a well written drama for just 10 episodes!
I enjoyed this drama. When I first started, I was extremely excited because it had mystery, drama, and comedy. Almost every genre that I LOVED. Yes romance too, but the other aspects of the show stood out to me a lot. Even as a girl who is very interested in the engineering major, I definitely got a kick out of this drama.Story: It was very good for the first few episodes but then things started to go a bit different from how I expected it too. It's not a bad thing though, within 10 episodes this drama has managed to keep the storyline up with many plot fillers and twists which I thought was executed very well.
Acting/Cast: I actually didn't know anything about the main cast except for Bomi, but when I figured out the female ML was one of my favorite actresses, I was sold. Besides favoritism, all the actors included in the story (even the crazy ex) played their character very well without breaking.
Music: 10/10 automatically. I was so eager for 'Who I Am' to release and I haven't stopped listening to it since the day it was released.
Rewatch value: I made this rating low because it's a personal preference, I usually do not watch dramas over again, I've only watched Hana Yori Dango over again and that is the only exception lol. But for others, if you felt as if you didn't get the message throughout the drama or maybe you just really enjoyed, I would recommend to watch it again, I probably would.
Overall: It was a bittersweet, hilarious, yet 'mysterious' drama that I really enjoyed. There's a few tear-jerkers every now and then, but there's also a whole bunch of thrilling and exciting scenes that kept me excited for every episode. I say to give this drama a chance, it was very confusing to follow at first, but trust me the show is really good.

Even though I'm 2 years behind, I would like to give justice to this Melodrama!
So, I don't know if anybody would read this or ever see this, but if you do happen to scroll across to this review, I promise I'll make it worthwhile.Back in 2018, I started watching this drama, but I was still new to the whole k-drama world and had no clue of a melodrama and had to learn it the hard way. Around ep. 17 I stopped watching the drama, partially because I didn't feel like waiting a week for the next episode, and 2, I was just unable to grasp the story's theme. But now, with my eyes still swollen, I finished the drama 2 years later and I decided to check the reviews, and I am confused as to how you could rate this show so low.
Story- Yes I know it is an adaptation and I watched the whole drama without knowing it was one, all I can say is adaptations usually are not exacccttlyy the same, and whichever plot the adaptation was, I'm sure the great seducer made up a pretty good plot as best as they can. I love the story. even though near the end we still didn't get some answers to the side character's stories, I believe they told the story well in 32 or 16 complete episodes. Also, people get mixed up with the meaning of The Great Seducer as him "seducing as many women as he can" but I believe they wanted to represent him as a man who always gets his way with women without any effort, but when Tae Hee comes around that changes for him, causing him to fall in love. There's not a lot of popularity or likeability with melodramas because you have to use your feelings to watch the story, it's not meant for understanding but to just tell a story of tragedy, which this show did a great job of doing.
Acting/cast- I love all of the main characters and the side characters, Kyung Joo was a headache for me because I couldn't bear a friend who doesn't read the room or just talks to much and ends up telling things she has no business lol, but she did contribute to the show so I'm not really bothered. I've heard there was a slander on Joy for her acting, which is probably because people hate the fact of idols acting but she actually did well. Especially when I first watched it without knowing anythinggg about k-pop and k-dramas, she really portrayed her character and became one of my favorites over time. As so for the other actors, there's no doubt about how much I love them, I still watch many of their other dramas today and keep track, so it's a 10/10 for me.
Music- There were two main songs: with you and missed connections. I listened to them back to back and even for my own events through life. Other than that, the classical music that played at emotional points in the story was just *chefs kiss*
rewatch value- I rated this low because even though the story was good, I just do not want to sit through this painful melodrama again, even though it ended well lol. I just can't bother to go through certain scenes because I'm just too over-sensitive lol. Just a personal preference though.
Overall- THE SHOW IS GOOD. Not one of the greatest but as a starting MELODRAMA, I'd strongly recommend it. Definitely not as a first k-drama though, I just feel like it's a different side to k-dramas, like k-drama with a hint of bitterness to it. So not good for a first or starting drama, but good when you get tired of the regular k-drama and want to break off into something a bit darker.

Nabi... I am she, she is me..
WARNING: This review will be kind of personal and invasive on my own life, so if you could care less about it then don't mind this review :)I'm taking it as you finished the show and you're either feeling relieved she chose Jae Eon but uneasy because she should've chosen potato boy or you're the opposite. OR you're happy for Song Kang because of "Love Alarm." I LOVED "Nevertheless" just to cut it straight. Here's why:
Story (9/10): I gave it a 9/10 because despite the poor decisions and open-ended questions that we were left with after 10 episodes, I stayed with the series from beginning to end and was satisfied with the ending. It was a more realistic drama, something I really needed because the usual K-dramas get repetitive and uninteresting after a while. This drama stands out from the rest and I applaud the people who produced this show.
I've read a few reviews and some of them were shaming Nabi of choosing Jae Eon over Do Hyeok or just her character set-up overall. Not saying she was the most perfect character but she is the most realistic. The way she hesitated over Jae Eon whenever she saw him, being happy with Do Hyeok but not in love with him, convincing herself that she didn't need Jae Eon in her life but couldn't keep herself drawn away from him every time he shows up, even just giving in and being hopelessly in love with Jae Eon KNOWING that he's a player, Nabi is literally another remake of me. I'm sure a lot of girls in high school/college like me can relate to her character too. Of course she's the main character and she should always do what is right, but in her shoes you would honestly do the same.
Between "The Time We Were Not in Love" (took me a very long time to finish, I was too emotional) and "Nevertheless" these stories literally could be my biography. From the perfect childhood friend being in love with you secretly (not so much potato boy), and the attractive, toxic ex that keeps ruining your life, the stories are complete duplicates. Except.. one chose the toxic ex and the other didn't. Sadly in my life, my childhood crush wasn't in love with me, I was in love with him. So when that "attractive, toxic" guy came around, I couldn't help but be drawn to him... further pushing me into more toxic, barely even called "relationships" (more like situationship), all because of ONE person. So with Nevertheless, the story and Nabi's choices made sense in my eyes.. it's a total different experience when you've actually been in Nabi's shoes. So, I love her character.
Acting/Cast(10/10): Everyone did phenomenal. People were complaining about Song Kang's acting but I truly believe he played his role the correct way. A heartless, noncommittal person? Of course his mannerisms should be a blank face, it makes sense to me. But overall, everyone did well and felt so comfortable in their characters it was hard not to like them... well except Jae Eon.
Music(10/10): I don't need to explain it. Sam Kim was already a win for me, and then RIO added into the mix? Chef's kiss.
Rewatch value (7/10): I don't like rewatching shows but I'd definitely rewatch this just because. I'd also recommend that you rewatch it too after reading my review, you know to get some perspective... if you thought opposite of me.
Overall (9/10): I would've loved a 16-20 episodes length but it was still executed nicely. I also just really love seeing stories with a totally different storyline, breaking k-drama stereotypes. More please.

Too predictable...
By the 6th episode I already predicted this show so I had to drop it. I understand that it’s a romantic COMEDY so I already watched the show expecting something funny to happen often. But I think the writer got ‘misunderstandings’ and ‘comedy’ mixed up. They are not in the same category at all. It’s actually quite annoying and tiring. There are other ways to make a comedy show without misunderstandings. Not saying there shouldn’t be any misunderstandings in a show but if it becomes the main drive for the show then it becomes a problem. There’s a list of misunderstandings I could go through and it’s just the SIXTH episode.
Now I’m a more serious drama watcher but I do love a good laugh once and a while so I’m not being biased about this show, it honestly would’ve been a great show if the misunderstandings didn’t snowball into more. It has great representation with diverse characters especially LGBTQ. I’ve never seen a non-stereotypical gay person in k-drama so it was relieving to see a realistic one.
I really tried to enjoy this show considering I love the two main characters along with the female lead’s younger brother because I love the group HALO, but it’s a little too corny for me to finish. I would definitely recommend this show as a STARTER k-drama show, it has all the basics of a typical k-drama lol.
