Comments from a french viewer

Comment 1 : You don't drink wine to get drunk and, above all, you don't mix white and red wine together. If you do, most French will hate you. That's why the bartender looked shocked when he saw this. Comment 2 : You'll easily find people who speak english in big cities and touristic cities. But other than that might be difficult. Most French are bad at foreign languages, though it tends to get better with younger generations.

Five Stars

Nothing much happened in this episode but I discovered something thanks to it so it's great. Knowing more ways of doing things the right way is how we can save the Earth.

1°) LOL I really liked this life lesson about condoms. 2°) The song on the holding hands event is an old well-known song in France called « Mon Amant de Saint-Jean » There are several versions you can find on internet. The one in this drama is a short version of the original one : the singer says « je » meaning « I ». The song tells the story of a woman's encounter with her lover from her point of view. So usually, when a man sings it, he says « elle » (meaning « she ») instead, hence changing this point of view to that of an outsider.

Comment from a french viewer.

Still as well-informed as earlier episodes. There trully are sand pits around Mont Saint-Michel so don't go around believing it's safe because the tide is low for a few hours. Ask for a guide if you wish to go there.

Reaction from a french viewer

« That's why French movies... are really boring. » This was really funny. To be honest, I think French comedies are usually really funny and far from boring, but we do have a lot of boring movies from other genres. If you're wondering if this chastity belt trully exists, you can look it up on the internet : yes, it does ;) By the way, the rights associated with your image can't be ignored in France. You have the right to refuse photos being taken and/or exposed, even after agreing at first. The only exceptions are for newspapers because that's information to the public and images that are entering history.

Some observations

1) « In France, they're strict about reservations ». Let's say 15 minutes late is alright but anymore than that and, depending on the place and people, they can get angry at you or think you won't ever arrive. And now you understand the « ça dépend »;) Just make a call if you're going to be late.2) The right pronounciation of Mont Saint-Michel is when Soo Soo repeat it for the first time, not the second time around and not how Soo Soo's boss say it either. But he's right about Mont Blanc. I guess the 'ch' sound ( ʃ in phonetic alphabet) is difficult for koreans.3) At Mont Saint-Michel, I doubt the cloister is open at night. Good to see not just Paris for a change. Auvers-sur-Oise is still really close (about 1 hour away) but as you can see, you'll already get a change of scenery.

From a french woman perspective

I think the writers did some excellent research about Paris history. If you watch this drama, you might well be nearly as knowledgeable as your actual tour guide. I lived near Paris so I know most of what they talked about but I still learned a few things.

Tips from a french woman living in France

If you go around without answering back « bonjour » to people who say it to you, they'll never say it again and will give you an icy cold shoulder. Basically, say « bonjour » to employees as soon as you enter any kind of shop. Don't forget the bus driver. But you don't need to say it to people on the road if you're in a big city. Be warned that you do have to say it if you're in a village where basically everyone know each other. We consider it very rude if you don't say « bonjour » or at least make some head acknowledgement. This is probably the main reason behind the stereotype of us being rude. The rest of the parisian depiction is quite truthfull for now, though I don't know about how customs (douanes) actually work. Oh, and this ending is hilarious.
