I can't say this was a successful collaboration. A lot of mismatching going on here. This is the type of story that would fit perfectly in a 120-150 minutes J-movie instead of 11 scattered episodes. Some soundtracks were really good while the others were generic free licensed tracks. I don't why the inconsistency.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Just highschoolers fooling around, it failed to keep me interested or make me care about any student. All the problems were only surface level and didn't go any deeper than that. Which is unfortunate because the drama doesn't have another theme to lean on. School/youth drama seems impossible to nail on a larger scoop and eventually they end up being made for teens.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
A solid package
Rest in piece Choi Jin Shil. It breaks my heart watching her after knowing what she went through. She's a wonderful actress I will always remember. I've seen a handful of 90s drama and this one has definitely a unique style. More like a dreamy and melodic feel, from the color grading to the rocking motion of the camera to the jazzy edits and adequate dialogue. All three main leads were wonderfully written. They're independent with their own problems, they have their own world outside their interactions. This is a textbook on how to make main leads. Also, great OST.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Well, that was something. For some reason I didn't want the train wreck to end but at the same time I'm glad it didn't become nasty. I like all the three leads individually as actors/actresses but they didn't fit quite well together in this drama. I liked the drama for all the wrong reasons.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

The glass awfully stained indeed! What's so great about this unbelievable friendship just because they spent some time together as kids? This bond was overly blown and wasn't worth much. The premise was alright but the execution was terrible. The writing is to be blamed here, 18 episodes of whiny people. Never communicate or vocalize what you want. They don't convince us why their love is so damn great and they definitely don't prove it by the end. Park Ki Tae takes the selfish act to the extreme, you can imagine how that would shape the story of this soppy triangle. The drama is manufactured to trigger the viewer till the very end. They went for a generic poetic ending from the 2000s as if we weren't already burned out after 18 episodes. They failed to make me care about any character. None of them had any redeeming qualities. The relationship sucked and by the end, I couldn't care less who would end up with who or what will happen to them. To say this was a flop is an understatement. I can't think of any reason to watch this other than cast which was fine. Speaking of cast, this is Kim Ha Neul's worst project and the only one I rated below 5.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

It was exhausting to watch Soon Young bouncing between two men for 16 episodes. Jae Wung annoying and unlikable character, I'm starting to hate the actor the more dramas I see of him. Yoo Jung surprisingly remained good and graceful without going in an intense square.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

It had a good and entertaining start but the middle parts were really slow, unfanny and boring while the later parts were too melo and soppy and the ending was meh. The cast was fine but Han Ga In once again doesn't know how to pull a crying face.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Unnecessarily long for such a simple story, the comedic moments weren't good enough to fill the gaps. There wasn't much chemistry between the leads. Do Kyeong was just too weird see him hanging around, his character needed a re-write to better fit with the other leads. And then there's the ending...Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Did they really need to include a love hexagon in the plot? It definitely wasn't needed. For a simple plot, they to over-complicate everything to the point where they ran out of time to tie everything. It's unbelievable how weak and wimpy the female lead was, the worst character and the drama which also had little to no impact despite being a lead.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

I never hated the trope of "girls like bad boys" more than the one in this drama. Absolute cringe! It overshadowed every other element and sucked the life and enjoyment out of the drama. If we stripped all the relations and human drama then it's an okay medical drama.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

The story centers around Wuri's love yet we barely got to see Da In, her scenes were too limited. Maybe because she's a Japanese actress? How are we supposed to get this great love of theirs if their scenes together are too scarce? Anyway, this created a big disconnect in contrast to how much we see Tae Shil. This also limited the drama in many ways and didn't allow it to get outside the scope of whatever was written in the synopsis.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Barely watchable...
I couldn't stomach most of the characters and pairs even though it's a lighter drama. Might be the worst iteration of the trope "friends to lovers after dating a handful of other people". This resulted in making the drama unnecessarily long and uninteresting because you were watching a relationship after another that was guaranteed to fail. The musical parts sucked and never was fitting of the scene. I don't know why they wanted it to be partially musical. It was obvious what kind of route it was going to take. Given the circumstances and how it was structured from the beginning, it made sense. This is definitely not for everyone due to the subject but the writer did a decent job handling it over 17 episodes which felt like the write amount it needed without being over stretched. It's a love story yet they failed to establish the first steps of love. Were they even in love? The leads lacked chemistry anyway. Bae Yong Joon didn't give off any romantic vibes. Kim Hye Soo was always quite and soft spoken unlike what we used to see of her empowering personality. They tried to provoke sadness and tragedy but none of it had any weight because of how under developed everything in this drama. The entire last arc was off putting and underwhelming. Feels like a waste for a 44 episodes drama that couldn't accomplish much.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
