I almost gave up on this show after 2 episodes..........don't! You will be glad you stayed and finished it. Although I'd have to say that this period drama is quite specific to the Song dynasty period and for those who are not very familiar with this period may find it hard to understand the culture, social values and standing of the time.

The acting is superb and everything about the production looks very authentic and you would feel as if you were there in that period. It has many well developed characters and is worth a second viewing
