Howdy fellow Asian Drama aficionados!
Some background tidbits
I originally hail from Pearl of the Orient Seas…
From the equator, I have since migrated to the City of Lights in the southern hemisphere…
As a child, I have been exposed to Japanese and American anime, and most Chinese films…
Then came the Mexican soap operas in my country…
it never really overtook American TV series…
But came the Asian wave on shore, which were predominantly Korean and Chinese (or Taiwanese)… and from then on the landscape immediately changed…
From what I can remember these are my firsts, and to this day, all still remain special
KDrama: All About Eve
JDrama: Long Love Letter
CDrama: Return of the Condor Heroes
TDrama: Meteor Garden
Different strokes for different folks
I have varied and general tastes. Well, I can admit to being a sucker for sci-fi/fantasy or epic love stories. I don’t follow particular artists but I do often shy away from some dramas when I am not really fond of someone’s acting.
I am appreciative of a well-told story, more so if dialogues and emotions are grounded on realities, and especially if there’s consistency in characterization.
My ratings also varied, so it can be based on technicalities and production value alone, other times it may only be based on emotional and entertainment impact. So yeah, it may happen that we may agree on specific dramas and totally opposite reactions on others.
And if in a pickle
Drama slumps would lead me to re-watching some favourites or temporary book immersion, and alternatively, reading manga, or watching anime… OR simply browsing around MDL for inspiration ^,^
HAPPY WATCHING ALL MDListers!!

:::SOME REMINDERS TO SELF:::
If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep...
Sleep... Oh! how I loathe those little slices of death...
One thing you can't recycle is wasted time...
Doubtless criticism was originally benignant, pointing out the beauties of a work rather than its defects. The passions of men have made it malignant, as a bad heart of Procreates turned the bed, the symbol of repose, into an instrument of torture...
