Both these dramas star the same actress and have similar troupes. Same concept where an innocent young girl, through certain experiences, become almost cold, but not forgetting their roots.

Both dramas are Chinese historical romances where the FL is a clever, strategic, beautiful and graceful princess who has to lie to everyone (including the ML) for a good reason.

In both dramas, the ML is strong fighter who falls for the FL quickly, respects her, and always defends / protects her - even if it means risking his own life.

And in both dramas the FL does not know that the ML is connected to the emperor and distances herself from the ML when she finds out.

But there are two major differences: ZGZZS is short and fast and (for lack of a better word) just plain horny. The Princess Wei Young is long with lots of characters, subplots, and repetitive themes and the leads have very limited skinship. They're both great dramas in their own way.

Both have intelligent female lead and male lead as the eldest grandson of the royal family (show the process of how they manage to become the emperor in the future). Both female lead have misunderstanding about the male lead at first. Both couples have a rather similar ending (watch to know more).

In Dugu the family was persecuted while in Weiyoung a marshal from the Chiyun clan was driven by greed and turned her entire families clan into a bloodbath. Which forced her to survive on her own. Like Dugu who is independent and strong, Weiyoung is the same, she is able to avoid all the enemies evil plans to harm against her. Dugu's husband is a warrior who aims to rise as emperor, while Weiyoung's Tuoba Jun doesn't care about royal politics, but targeted by the emperor's sons. After these two meet, she is able to gain wisdom, and was finally able to find peace for her family while finding love at the same time

In both dramas lead actor is Tiffany Tang, who acts a serious but easy going/fun loving person. The dramas' story are similar because main character (acted by a Tiffany Tang) uses someone else's name to go to a family either to find someone or take revenge. Both drama are really strict to the point but with a twist of Tiffany Tang's character's humor. Which allows both dramas to be suspenseful in a good way. Tiffany Tang's historical dramas takes creativity and romance to another level.

Both have good leading character female leads . Also revolves around both leads love triangle but end up making sacrifices for the nation. They are yet similar but different at the same time and have a very different story line. Where The Princess Wei Young revolves around mainly 1 dynasty where as Princess Jieyou revolves around alliances with neighboring countries/dynasties .

Although it’s been a while since I’ve watched both of these dramas, I remember both of them giving me similar vibes and plots.
- The lead couple are both strong and smart.
- Girl starts off by denial and hatred towards the male lead.
- Their chemistry is amazing!
- Both have a similar yet different ending (I liked Legend of Fu Yao’s ending better).
- I can’t remember everything, but you will definitely like this Legend of Fu Yao if you liked The Princess Weiyoung.
