Xiao Song is framed for murdering Lord Sun. He escapes and meets up with Ran Yan. Someone is spreading rumors and trying to dethrone the emperor. Su Fu kills Xiao Song with an arrow. Ran Yan commits suicide while examining the body, but is stopped by Su Fu. Ran Yan says that Xiao Song died of influenza poisoning and must be burned, but in reality, she is saving his life.
