A MUST WATCH
This is a worth watching drama, it has all a good story line and pretty good cast. I am more of a K-drama watcher but this C-Drama is really good.It has all you will need in a good drama, the story line may be simple yet its addicting and fun to watch the cast has done a pretty good job. The chemistry between the mail lead is good on camera and off camera.
Love that they did show more gameplay in the future episodes, I find the gameplay portions pretty interesting.
all scenarios in the drama happen for a reason which is to give characters developments. Love how there's no break-up with the main leads still shows a strong bond between them , most of the dramas I watched there will be break up and that's kind of clichés for me. and then friendship of the group ZGDX is also worth watching.
Comedy wise, there are too many funny scenes in the drama. Too many puns, Fatty's reactions, ZGDX teammates reactions, Tong Yao and Lu Yue's immature bickering and Lu Sicheng and Tong Yao's bickering as well- I LOVE IT!

Love triangles... My favourite thing hehe
Im am currently rewatching it and it still makes me laugh... The relationship between lu sicheng and tong yao amazes me... They pick at each other whenever they get a chance...I love dramas that are e-sport based bcs life of an e-sport player is so unknown to me since we dont have this in my country...
Also love triangles are the funniest part in drama... In the same moment when lu sicheng gets rid of one guy the other one appears... Hilarious...and i like that... It spices the whole story...

The show's biggest problem
My rate. this a very strange series.questions are open. and we will not receive answers. you can just guess. why the characters love games? to become pro? what they look for in life? their feelings? (to win)? why?. and they all have a family problems. ok. this great.
bad script. a series in which the viewer is actively drawn into the story. should reveal the characters later so that the audience will be able to care about the characters and want them success. but they just leave it,(open) make us to guess.
Characters
FM lead: she is a young girl, want simple things, have ex story. always wants to convince others. because of what she thinks.
it must be true. turned on height fetish.
ML lead: start playing in Korean team. he got used to taking responsibility on the team members. Know their pros and cons and use it to win. When he fails once instead of support gets criticized by this friends. but like always is girlfriend make him smile.
they don't developing. or changing.(only the male lead have a story line of understanding what to fail and lose its not bad. because we all humans. and this from is girlfriend help.)
FL lead friend: her boyfriend who will lose.and their love story. this ok. nothing special to say.
Ex-boyfriend with sad eyes: for what is he in the story? what does he being here affect? looking at her sadly?He taught her to play .. to use a keyboard and a mouse .. opened a new world for her? she could also do it alone. right? he didnt answer the phone for a few days. and made her feel lonely.and abandoned. nothing more.
ML lead Korean friend: At first we find that he can not play for a very long time because of the hand problem. and this is the initial reason for their replacement in games. but its stops here... he's just a friend who knows him well .. I thought he came back because he wanted them to be in the same team again. but he is just another dude, who need to lose..
ZDJX team; we do not discover much about them. except for family problems and stress to win. They're here to be funny. The story does not open or expand them. they are all a team and know excellent to play together .. because it's not their first time. it was so funny when. from no were. they got a problem. just from air. very professional what can i say.
Conclusion. most of the plot sucking out of nothing and exaggerating. with "emotional music" in simple moments. and sad looks. with the story that does not explain or show emotions or reasons for the same actions. The difficulty comes out to create caring feelings about them and want them to win ... why do they need this victory .. why should I rejoice in the victory of people I know almost nothing about.
American shows keeps open space to character developing because of second season and possibility of changing them different to original ideas. so will be second season? or what..... guess..
I hope the Chinese will learn to show emotions before and not just deeds. or at least they will start explaining in a playback for example or similar .. with their progress compared to previous years. I believe they will succeed ... but there is room for improvement.

Must watch if you love "love o2o"
This drama is so epic ... A badass FL and a handsome bad tempered ML....Just love it💜 far different than other cdramas or kdramas. I just love it . And the chemistry between both ML - FL is great.. I really wanna ship them in real life..(although Xu kai is already mah hubby😂)
I love boldness of FL. And straightforward ML 😍 they are made for eachothers..

Best Cdrama
This is good 👍🏻 watch and the storyline is amazing.I have rewatched episodes many times 😘😘😘😘😘.
Specially I like the characters of ZGDX TEAM their comparability and their team work is just amazing 💟💟💟 Lu Si Cheng / Chessman and Smiling are playing their role well!! I don't get bored. Romantic comedy is just wow 😍 punch line by Lu Lue and Chubby and Old K and other one is also cute..

Highly Entertaining
As an Asian American, it’s hard to find an actual drama that’s worthy to watch. I used to write bad reviews on films, music and various subjects based on performance, story.m and quality. I got so sick of Hollywood dramas when all they do is have sex scenes in every episode, which is a drag and turn off with no real progress.I began watching more Asian dramas since Legend of FuYao. By far, I’m catching up to Chinese dramas on a daily basis and putting them all into the back burner to watch later.
A lot of dramas with poor reviews are underrated and deserves more accolades than people’s feelings or jealousy.
This drama actually taught me that there’s an actual eSports, which I had no idea about. I only remember those who had the highest scores stays on as legends at the arcade, but not as competitive as what I’ve seen in this drama. The game looks awesome to play, even I want to know how to play it if it’s in English. Graphic looks better than the Mortal Kombat Ultimate to be honest.
Now onto the series, the chemistry between the leading actors is comical, the banter with the entire game crew is hilarious, and relatable to this generation.
All in all, a worthy drama to watch. Have to admit to rewatching scenes I liked because it’s hilarious. Re-watched it three or four times until the new episodes air.

My honest first ever review
Okay I’ve watched countless of dramas korean, chinese, japanese, thai so many of them but I’ve never been this excited to watch a drama like I can’t wait for the next episodes and if English sub hasn’t released yet I’ll just watch it raw and then rewatch it with sub again! Also when I found out that it’s based on novel, I search the english translation of the novel on internet and read it ahead while waiting for the new episodes. These are my hype for this drama. Now moving on to about the drama, I’m normally the type who doesn’t like esports drama and even when I try to watch it because of the actor and actress, I just dropped it unfinished cuz I find it boring! But this drama never gets me bored at all and keeps me anticipating for the next ep! First of all, I really love all the casts of FIYS team. ( Needless to say all of them are visuals as well hehe^^) They all portrayed the characters so well. I think for Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao, this is their first modern drama. I’ve watched both of their dramas before but never have I thought about how suited they are if starring in a drama together. Their visuals, their height differences, their fluff scenes, bickering scenes, kissing scenes, bed scenes are so natural and so cute, not awkward at all. Their chemistry is so good both in and off-camera. But what makes the fans hype about this drama is not only the male & female leads chemi but also the friendship between female lead and her best friend, her best friend’s love story with one of the players, and most importantly the team works of the esports teams mainly ZGDX, CK, YQCB. I don’t know anything at all about games but now I know each member of the team has a role of his or her own and is important for the whole team. I find it not boring at all when they are playing games and it’s so exciting when they show us the fighting scenes of the animation characters or heroes of the game. Lastly, I wanna give thumps up to the whole FIYS drama team mainly to the director, producer and the casts as the players. Cuz it’s really not easy to portray as a professional esports player, from the behind the scenes videos, I watched how hard the casts were trained and learned to play the game as pro players. Overall, in my opinion, this drama shows that esports is not just playing computer games but one of the profession as well and the lives of esports players are not easy at all. E-sports is becoming popular in this century but most of the parents still think that playing computer games is just spending time and useless. Loved this drama so much! I saw it on social media at first and I thought it looked interesting so I decided to watch it and I can say it was the best decision I've ever made haha. I am currently obsessed with the WHOLE cast and I definitely recommend for you all to watch the drama. It's definitely cliche but you are never going to get bored and personally I feel like the two leads have so much chemistry. A DRAMA WORTH WATCHING
well most people normally watch k-drama or c-drama coz of there favorite actor or actress but truth be told its how your favorite actor or actress is going to build the character throughout the drama and the chemistry they will build together to make the audience hooked and appreciate the drama this drama is worth watching not coz of the ML but coz of the plots and the excitement that will make you want to finish and start another episode it got me so hooked that I literally downloaded all the episodes that have been aired and subbed and transferred them into my flash this so that whenever I want to re-watch i do it with ease this actually my first c-drama that am watching for the FL and I just love the chemistry she built for her characterVond je deze recentie nuttig?
A drama that really deserves a chance despite all of the controversy
This is my first review on this site but this drama really compelled me to write one. Probably one of those few dramas I've binged from start to finish without skipping a single scene. Trust me not one scene was a filler. Every scene is important and every detail contributed to the story.I am a Xu kai/Bai lu fan but i wanted to watch him in a contemporary setting and the chemistry between Xu kai and Cheng xiao is just apt and perfect for this drama. Nothing is overdone and its not your regular cheesy romance. Yes, there is romance and there are some adorable moments but this show encompasses a mature and well built relationship not only between them but with every other character.
Si cheng is a really thoughtful and mature character and his role as a leader is just perfect but i really liked how they showed his shortcomings as well. Tong yao is a strong female lead who knows how to build her path and walk it herself and her character development from ep 1 to 31 is wonderful. Every other character has contributed equally and played their roles really well.
Coming to the story, i really liked how they stuck to their morals and held on to the main themes till the end. The toxic internet community and how it affects people was portrayed really well. Along with that i got really invested in the Onmyoji arena games. The game scenes were really well done. The struggles of an e-sports athlete and their personal lives along with the disaproval of most Asian parents was relatable.
Overall i have given this a 9. Its not the best maybe but its the best of its genre. The music is really good (not to mention seventeen and wayv eeeee). Rewatch value is 10 because i already miss the characters and i feel it'll be fun and new everytime i watch it.
About the controversy surrounding this drama i would say only one thing: its just a drama and its supposed to be entertainment. No hate is intended towards anyone and it is not intentionally trying to offend anyone. Please be a little kind and refrain from attacking the actors. They've worked really hard. Its really sad that most chinese and south korean netizens have purposefully given it low ratings. The actors deserve the praise.
