Chaotic and fun until the very end, a rom-com in the truest sense
No spoilers here! So, what is a romcom?
A funny story centred around a romance. And, more often than not, it comes with a L O T of cliches.
46 Days was a romcom in the truest sense. There was a lighthearted and humorous plotline studded with tropes and centred around a cute romance and supplemented with some angst, sprinkled with family and friendships that run deep and rounded off with an essential life lesson. Lets look at all of these shall we.
• Comedy:
First of all, 46 Days wonderfully delivered on that comedy tag. The humour was woven into the story in such a way that it wasn’t “trying too hard” as some other comedies seem to do, nor was it over the top (except when it was ;).
• Romance:
The romance was adorable. There are three couples here, the main couple everyone is rooting for, the cute second couple everyone wants and the surprising third couple which everyone eventually comes to like.
There wasn’t a single dull moment for me during this ride as I watched Ying Ying trying to help Noina win (what she believes is) her first love in 46 days; while Pat follows Noina around like a puppy and *no spoiler* the third couple whom I frowned upon at first but slowly came to like too.
Ying Ying and Korn’s story wasn’t easy, they set expectations for themselves based on other peoples’ perception of them and drive themselves into the corner while trying to meet those expectations and hence keep pushing each other away but its a lovely story.
• Tropes:
Now this can be looked at as either positively or negatively. For me, 46 Days had “Tropes, proceed with caution” written all over it. If you hadn’t already figured out that there would be tropes well, you have it now ;)
In my honest opinion, 46 Days used the tropes in what was a truly refreshing manner. Love at first sight but with a twist. It was actually quite predictable and you could see the events from miles away but there is something about this drama which makes you gravitate towards it and just—keep watching ;)
(The period when GMMTV got hacked was such a drought. I was so overjoyed to see the episodes up again on the newly restored channel :')
• Characters:
A cute and soft-hearted male lead; an enterprising female lead who puts her loved ones first; a funny and warm second male lead; a cute but occassionally tiresome second female lead with a growth arc; a caring third lead; an annoying antagonist with a redemption arc which makes sense; a transgender sister who achieves her dreams.
46 Days was full of amazing characters that make you root for or understand them and that, I believe, is the most important thing while writing a character. No matter how bad a character is, the audience should be able to feel the struggles they undergo and the motivations which drive them.
• Cast:
I always say that, "the characters are only as good as the cast."
A weak cast cannot carry the show. I was already a huge Off and Mild stan. Jennie always does surprise me with her capacity to play different roles. Chanon grew a lot since Bad Genius, and I am not talking about his abs. Baifern...I can’t express how wonderfully talented she is, how she musters the most satisfying expressions for her emotions. And Ploy! Hats off for playing her role.
46 Days combined a lot of GMMTV's best.
• Life Lessons:
Here I am mainly talking about Ying Ying’s coming to. She is a great friend, sister, daughter and girlfriend and she is flawed. She stretches herself too thin for others and 46 Days teaches you to choose yourself.
It teaches you that love can’t be decided by fate, magic and rites and what your family desires. It’s about your feelings and their feelings and it's just you and them.
Everybody had a character growth here, and so did Ying Ying and Korn. And through their growth, I felt there were life lessons to be learnt here; that being selfless is a virtue but sometimes we should put ourselves first.
+ huge plus for the transgender representation and the drag culture. It wasn’t there just for comedy, Pang was an actual transgender mtf character with her own problems (transphobic father) and dreams (to be a dancer)
+ for the pacing and good ending. Endings are where series go wrong and 46 Days was bomb
Overall 7.0» A great show. (Check out my profile for the rating scale :)

One of the Most Delightful Shows I’ve Seen!
This show is such a delight to watch— so campy, over the top, and hilarious, while also being romantic and touching all at the same time. It also did a great job balancing all the different and complex relationships within the show— from Yingying and Noina’s friendship which Yingying puts above all else, to Yingying and Pang’s sisterly relationship, their mothers’ complicated love triangle, and more. It’s definitely a show that’s focused on the romance, but there’s so much more going on.I adored all of the characters in the show, and I thought the acting was phenomenal. The girls in particular stood out to me. Baifern as Yingying was hilarious, heartfelt, and so easy to care for. I also adored Mild as Noina, though that seems to be an unpopular opinion. I thought Noina was so cute and funny, if a bit whiny. Mild also killed some of the more emotional scenes towards the end (same with Baifern— god, I was in tears!!). And Ployphat as Wisa was so amazing— Ployphat played her perfectly! I couldn’t stand Wisa throughout the majority of the show, though her antics were so over the top and hilarious to watch, and yet there were soft points where I did end up feeling for her. She’s definitely a character you love to hate, and it was done very well.
The writing as a whole was really well done! The characters were all distinctive, and we got to see different sides of them throughout the show. I also liked the amount of symbolism and foreshadowing used in the show— specifically the scene with the puppet show. It perfectly mirrored the romantic arc of the show and was a cool touch. I thought they did a really good job of developing Yingying’s relationship with Korn, as well, especially when they mirrored it with Noina’s attempts to woo him. Noina tries to show Korn she’s good with kids, we see Yingying actually being good with kids. Noina tries to force “chance” encounters, Yingying actually bumps into Korn by accident. Etc, etc. It clearly showed who would actually be a good fit for Korn without shoving it down our throats.
And on the flip side, we can see early on that Noina will actually work better with Pat, especially given the fact that she never acts like herself in front of Korn and yet is so easily herself with Pat. He’s truly the better option for her, as he falls for her without her even trying. Similarly to how Korn falls for Yingying even without her trying. The relationships were all very well done— believable and romantic.
I don’t have any complaints about this show, really. It’s been such a joy to watch it every week, and honestly I’m so sad it’s finally reached its end. I will definitely be revisiting this story in the future.

Had a promising start but was quickly disappointing
My review will obviously not please the huge fans of this show but this is just my honest take on this show. Its not that great as a romantic comedy drama. From watching the trailer alone, I was REALLY hyped up for this show. They feature some of my favourite actresses like Mild and Baifern while it is also a plus point that Non is pretty darn good looking. But what seemed promising in the trailer just turned up to be pretty lacking when watching the actual drama.
For me, after watching a few episodes, came to the conclusion that the main focus of this drama is not about romantic relationship but more about friendship and I have to say, the friendship is not that great either. I mean at the end of it, the friendship was pretty touching but the main reason that I wanted to watch this drama was because I had the impression that it will be a romcom more than about the friendship between Ying Ying (Baifern) and Noina (Mild).
Comedy - Just no
The delivery of many comedic points in the drama was very slapstick and usually involves a lot of exclamation and screaming that over time just grates on one's nerve (especially if you have very sensitive nerves). More and more as I watch the drama, I just watch it more for the story progression and ending rather than for the humour. It was a (quite) big no for me in terms of the humour.
Romance - What romance?
The romance portion of the drama at times was also rather...disappointing. I was expecting more heart-throbbing scenes (e.g. where you know the 2 characters are starting to be interested in each other but neither are aware/acting on their feelings yet). But what you get instead is maybe a 20s scene (at best) of perhaps an insight into the interest that Korn may have in Ying Ying for a 40 min episode with the rest of the episode focusing on how Ying Ying plans with Noina or plays mind games with Wisa into breaking up with Korn. And this is not just for 1 or 2 episodes, it is almost for every episode and most of the romance between Ying Ying and Korn is just hastily stuffed into the last 2-3 episodes. So, if you want to watch this drama for the romance, I recommend that you just read the synopsis and watch the last 2-3 episodes. That should suffice. And for the reasons above, is also why I think that there is just no reason I see why Ying Ying and Korn will like each other except maybe for the fact that both are good-looking and pretty decent people. The development of romantic feelings between the 2 was just again - very lacking. It is just not convincing as to why these 2 will like each other other than the fact that it was love at first sight that started during their secondary school days that lasted all the way until adulthood despite years of not seeing each other. This plot maybe very likeable for huge romantics but it is again a no for me. Admittedly, the development of feelings between the 2 could've been a lot better but they missed out the chance in doing so.
Acting - Pretty decent (minus the delivery of comedic points)
Baifern's crying scenes are and WILL always be one of the BEST. You will want to cry with her. Non's acting seemed a bit stiff at time but I think it suited Korn's character as this goody two-shoe doctor.
Ploy, the actress who played Wisa, was surprisingly outstanding in her role. I was half expecting her to play the role in a slightly exaggerated, dramatic manner but the actress herself was able to live out the character with a nice balance of drama and bitch.
Characters - Some are surprisingly likeable and some surprisingly unlikeable
I do not like the character Noina. Selfish, self-centered, whiny, way too much of a day dreamer. From the trailer, I could tell that she was a romantic and day-dreamer but I did not expect the length that she will go to. The only few scenes where she is likeable is when you can actually see the concern and anger she has for Ying Ying when she saw how Ying Ying's ex treated her. There is some character growth and development seen when she decides to give up Korn so that Ying Ying can now happily end with Korn but again, these scenes of growth and development also happens very briefly in the last 1-2 episodes.
Korn's character is expected of a doctor who follows what his parents want, to the point that he is willing to marry a woman that he doesn't even love. In terms of character development, there is little but done slightly better as he slowly realises how fulfilling a romantic relationship can be and learns to do things that he actually wants.
Ying Ying's character is likeable. Brave, selfless and thoughtful. Although I did find it weird that she dated that bum of an ex who just mysteriously disappeared halfway through the show after the breakup.
Wisa's character is surprisingly likeable. Although she can be bratty and annoying at times, the show (surprisingly) does it in an entertaining way and underneath all that glitz and glamour of her, you can tell that she is similar to Korn in some way - marrying a person she doesn't really love all because her family wants her too.
Overall, I think it is ok to speed watch this once and then just move on to other dramas.

Lighthearted and enjoyable
The first half of the show is pure crack. I laughed out loud in most of the scenes. Some are probably not a fan of that kind of humor but I definitely am. This is not just a comedy show, it's also about love, family and mostly friendship. There are also definitely frustrations while watching this though. Korn has no backbone until about the last few episodes. He stresses me out more than Wisa. Yes for character development but damn he really took his time. I think Non and Baifern have fantastic chemistry. I'm satisfied with their love story. I wish we got more moments though but that finale scene is really really cute and perfect. I can probably watch anything that Baifern is in. I know she always delivers.
Ployphach is a surprise. She is the one who stole the show for me. This is my first time watching her and I'm amazed. She portrayed Wisa perfectly. Wisa is the cartoonish villain you cannot really hate. She makes your blood boil but you know she's really not the ultimate enemy. I can even say I missed her when she's not on-screen.
Noina has always been an annoying character from the beginning. I don't know if that was how she was written or if Mild overacted that character. Off is underutilized in this show. I know he is already a supporting character here but I kinda didn't really feel his presence much. I wished we were able to see more of OffMild too but I know that's not the focus of the plot.
I cannot put into words how I feel about Ying Ying's family though. I loved Pang but their parents are mental. Korn and Wisa's parents all of a sudden became supportive after emotionally abusing their kids. But this is a minor concern that did not really help the plot so it's fine.
Overall, I enjoyed this fairly well. I enjoyed the earlier episodes more with all their shenanigans. Will definitely recommend for those looking for a comedic show with a little dash of feels.

A Different RomCom
We all know that Thai dramas have a certain vibe and aura to their romance circle, where this drama experimented something different - which has been done by dramas of other countries but not in Thailand - it did make me leave with a happy heart.Obviously the story is a cliché but not the type of cliché that would make you puke and drop the series. Though you feel like you know what's gonna happen next, you still watch it. A love story between two friends - now that is something we suckers love to watch and with the casting so fun and all good-looking, there is nothing that stops you from watching it.
But while watching such dramas, the question that arises is whether this drama will be a waste of my time or not?
This is a very controversial question, but I'd say that the answer depends upon two things:
1. Your Personal Temperament:
If you feel like you can't watch cheesy clichés and stories where everything is just so predictable. Don't watch it. But if its in your mood and guilty pleasure, this is just perfect.
2. The Moment:
I know this may sound weird but let me explain giving my own example. I'm actually a weird person. There are certain times when I hate clichés and I'm like, "When the hell would people stop writing them," but then the other times I go like, "Oh god I live for clichés and writers don't stop." So it all depends on the moment and mood. When I watched 46 I was in the mood of watching the most typical romcom, something lighthearted, something Thai but not having the usual Thai type of romance and so I went on with it and thoroughly enjoyed.
Again, this is short and this review might make you more confused about watching than you were before, but read it again and you'll get your answer. Watching and re-watching is something I'll leave to you.

Friendship Goals
One of the best rom-com series I have watched this year. All of the characters are played well and the story is so engrossing because it was funny, relatable, romantic with that slight squeeze of drama at the end.Story:
It was light and entertaining story and I do focused more on the friendship of Ying Ying and Noina. To be honest I’m slightly jealous of Noina, I wish I have a friend like Ying Ying. It was funny to watch the crazy things they did to stop Korn and Wisa’s wedding. Although, it frustrates me a little because Noina can be a little self-centered, Korn is too nice and Ying Ying is too much self sacrificial for Noina, but overall they can be relatable once you understand their mentality.
Acting/ Cast:
I initially watch this because of Baifern, as she is one of my favorite Thai actress but I salute the whole cast for their acting. Mild can be considered as overacting but I think it is just Noina overall character. I do love to hate Wisa’s character, she nailed the part. Both Korn and Pat are also good too and the whole cast played their roles so well, from Pang, to Paper and their parents.
Music:
I think the only song that marked the show is the opening song and Ying Ying’s favorite song.
Overall:
If you want something light and funny to watch with a nice progression of characters this will be a nice series to binge watch.

One of the best straight thai romcoms!
PROS:- the characters were amazing. ying ying is a great main character as she’s quite reasonable in her choices & feels very relatable to the viewer. noina is a little more over the top, but she’s so cute it’s hard to be mad at her, even when she’s too desperate & pushy for her own good. korn is extremely bland & boring at first, but for once in a male lead it’s actually on purpose, and seeing him come out of his shell little by little was very satisfying. as for pat, he’s basically the perfect man. he’s mature, a great friend & boyfriend, but still very funny when he’s scared & as an ex-playboy. wisa is frankly one of the best villains ever? she’s both completely cartoon-ish in her villainy, yet has very real moments that show her struggles to define herself outside of how her parents view her. I kinda stan her ngl :’)
- the acting was really good! whoever thought of pairing baifern & mild as bffs deserves a raise, bc the chemistry of these two in emotional scenes is THROUGH THE ROOF!!! you feel every emotion they’re going through. as for nonkul he did great, and this is actually the first role of his where he leaves a positive impression on me as his other roles were honestly just too bland. ploy was also amazing as wisa, she feels like a whole other person from her usual sweet roles so it was great to witness that! all of the other actors were great in their own way too!
- the chemistry was also top-tier, which is pretty amazing considering ying ying & korn spend most of the show apart, and even when they’re together ying ying is trying to make him like noina so it’s not like too much romantic stuff can be going on. even with that, the way those two look at each other was enough for the viewer to completely feel the love between them. pat & noina were an amazing side ship who are way more light than the main one, but the chemistry which already existed in girl next room: richy rich absolutely continued & even deepened in this series :)
- the friendship in this series is great, and showcases why exactly female friendship is simply superior™. gonna be honest I almost feel like this show is more about ying ying & noina than their love stories, and I loved seeing how close & loyal to each other they are. these two are basically sisters, and it was great to witness such a beautiful friendship on screen.
- the story is entertaining as hell, it definitely has a lot of over the top elements that come with lakorns & simply this type of story, but behind all of that it still feels pretty realistic. the choices made by the characters make sense, their character development is written well and it all fits very well into a cohesive story.
- I literally never comment on it, but the costume design was TOP-NOTCH!!! I loved how ying ying’s outfits are a bit more boyish & streetwear compared to noina’s hyper feminine & cutesy outfits. I love how wisa’s extravagant clothes match yoo’s top-tier wardobe compared to korn’s bland one. I love that the two doctors dress very simply as fashion is clearly not their priority, but that pat is often seen wearing stripes, as if it was his favorite pattern in clothing. this costume design was just very well done in my opinion, and it’s one of the rare times I actually noticed & appreciated the clothes used in a show.
CONS:
- I gotta say the transphobia in the show made me pretty uncomfortable. I feel like there’s two separate things about it: firstly they’re trying to show the transphobia that pang faces, but it does feel pretty clumsy considering her transphobic dad accepts her out of nowhere after having completely denied her gender for years... secondly there are other instances that just feel insensitive, like when ying ying introduces pang to korn as her “big brother... oh, I mean big sister.” that remark really bothered me bc ying ying has known pang’s gender for years at this point & is very close to her, so there was no reason to introduce her like that apart from making it clear to korn that she’s transgender, which... is simply not her place to say that at all. idk, I know the show had good intentions, but for me that wasn’t what was translated on screen.
- like every romcom, this does fall into pretty cliche territories. ying ying & korn HAVING to be each other’s first loves was v obvious & pretty unoriginal, though I like that they’re balanced by pat & noina who are not each other’s first loves. there’s a few moments in this show that feel like that, and it’s not like the show as a whole isn’t incredibly predictable. I don’t think you’ll be surprised once during this show, there’s no plot twist whatsoever. but I don’t think it was the point anyway, so... yeah. it’s just what keeps me from giving it a higher grade.
WOULD I REWATCH IT: why not!
CONCLUSION: This was a really lovely show that completely exceeded my expectations compared to its trailers. In terms of straight romances, this is definitely one of the best I’ve ever watched from Thailand so I’d definitely recommend it! It also gives pretty good lessons about love & marriage that feel way more realistic than most romcoms.

Amazing Lakorn
I'll be honest: I've been part of this huge world of Asian series since 2016 and this was one of the few Lakorn that I really loved. From the whole story of Ying Ying and Noina's friendship, to the "adventures" they went on to somehow get their true love, it was simply INCREDIBLE. Korn is too cute and Pat is the typical playboy friend who falls in love.
I loved and was angry with all the main characters, which is something I personally like, as it shows that all facets of them have been shown.
I highly recommend this Lakorn to those who enjoy a story of pure romance and friendship.

Romances e amizades
